After all of these excellent outings, Justice League Season 2 tops itself with A Better World, which introduces the Justice Lords, the Terror Beyond, which both dips into the Cthulhu mythos and manages to make fans cry over Solomon Grundy, and Hereafter, which is the best adaptation of the Death of Superman to date. This energy continues all the way through the end of the season, with Wild Cards being a welcome Joker story, as well as a pseudo crossover with Teen Titans, Comfort and Joy being a relaxing Christmas episode, and Star-Crossed being one of the most epic Justice League stories of all time, with the biggest twist in the series, and an all-out war between the Justice League of America and the people of Thanagar.

Batman is the greatest vigilante on the planet. He spent years honing his body and mind to perfection, learning everything he needed to know to be a crimefighter like no one else. For years, he had the best technology money could buy and anything he did not have he could make.

Funny thing is this epic theme existed long before the Avengers theme. Grew up watching Batman the Animated Series, then in my highschool years i watched this. Good memories.

The frank and honest discussions of the Justice League animated series surrounding relationships, trauma and loss deserve to be commended. The series was very adult when it wanted to be, but it served a purpose in creating a show that catered for all ages.
The Imperium invasion was thwarted by Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, the Flash, Hawkgirl, Martian Manhunter and Wonder Woman. Their teamwork in stopping the invasion directly led to the formation of the Justice League.
Superman is still portrayed as a man whose compassion for others is his main driving force no matter what.
The relationship between Green Lantern and Hawkgirl was way more serious, as it was clear the two were desperately in love with each other, making Hawkgirl's eventual betrayal of the team all the more heartbreaking.
Every vision needs a visionary at the helm and Bruce Timm filled that role for DC perfectly. Bruce Timm was responsible for giving Teen Titans producer Glen Murakami exposure on Superman: The Animated Series back in the late 1990s.
The Justice League animated series had universal appeal in that sense, treating both audiences and the team itself with the kind of respect live-action cinema would not even begin to attempt until a few years later. This was reflected in the signature animation style of Bruce Timm, which channeled the grandeur of classic Golden Age and Silver Age comics with much-needed weight in the fight scenes, imbuing them with a tangible physicality sans blood or gore. This is remarkable how well all this animation stands up still today.
