- This is a real British PSA commercial from the 80s that is kind of dumb, but it's still nice. Superman will be fighting Nick O'Teen, a villain who sells cigarettes to kids. Superman will be fighting him in all three commercials in order. I don't know how being tossed up into the air didn't kill Nick O'Teen.

@@flextape467 I mean yes but also the short term effects are pretty brutal. They lower your blood oxygen levels which sort of drops your IQ by like 20 points. Because you can't get enough oxygen to your blood you will be generally stupider until you give your lungs a few days to recover.
Smoking was one of the worst decisions I ever made. It ruined my health, my confidence, and was a contributing factor to making more compounding bad decisions that just turned me into a loser. now I chew those nicotine pouches which are stupid but if I don't get nicotine then I'mma turn into the Green Hulk.
Nick O’Teen would absolutely demolish darkseid in a fight. Just one puff and he’s in his grasp.

Provided Nick O'Teen isn't human, Batman would treat him like SuperMan does in these commercials. Modern Batman has a no-kill rule for human beings.

If anything, Batman’s response would be a little more tame. He’s got a no-killing-rule. Superman doesn’t. That’s why all of Batman’s villains end up in Arkham, and eventually, back out on the streets.

Tbh superman just doing small things like that are often some of the best superman stories. I mean, in action comics no1 the image where he’s lifting a car comes from how he’s just punishing a rich asshole who’s driving like an bastard. Don’t forget all star superman, that was a bunch of supes just being a great guy.
This was era when Lex Luthor and Brainiac where go-to villains. Or just villain of the weak.
There’s two kinds of Superman:
-One that educates children about danger and safety
-One that killed Shazam in an alternate universe
And the former will always be a goat

GodDAMN, the animation in these silly commercials had no right to be that SMOOTH. They really put some love and effort into it, 10/10.

Nicolaus Tein, an marketer working for the Cigarette Company "20 Packs" based in Metropolis. He had a accident involving a attempt on his life by a group of financers trying to take control of his business after a sour contract deal, pumping a room full of Nicotine fumes and experimental gas from a new brand of filters. It warped his mind and gave him the name NICK O'TEEN. Having the ability to produce smoke fumes from cigarettes, he swore by any means to get revenge. Once they were all in prison by the hands of Superman, he focused on the man of Steel and tried to give Cigarettes to children to get his attention. Mainly from a maniac state from his time as a salesman.
Super-man has more important things, so he usually throws him to the side due to no laws being broken, and tries to teach kids before they get their hands on cigarettes.
Due to his repeat states and attempted to flood Metropolis with a mixture of Ethenol and Nicotine gas, Superman delivered him to the MPD to refer him to the Stryker's Island Penitentiary's criminally insane ward where he will feel Nicolaus will get the help he needs.
Since then, his company 20 Packs has gone out of business and the warehouse that produced the Cigarettes have been defunct, after poor sales and a step down from its new owners.

Plot twist these are out of order and Superman got so fed up with Nick that he actually DID kill him by tossing him up into the stratosphere. The reason he appears in the others is that they're shown out of order.
And then Batman thought to himself well better get out the old kryptonite ring.

It's odd when you think about it because I can assume the Superman ads probably shows up on channels that air shows that airs show that their target audience being kids whereas the smoking ads nowadays will not show up on that channel unless you go on a channel that isn't CN or Nickelodeon.

It's kind of funny & somewhat ironic to see an anti-smoking advert starring Superman. The first three Superman movies were filled with product placement for tobacco products. Lois Lane chain-smokes Marlboro cigarettes in Superman 1 & 2. And Gus Gorman is often seen smoking Camel cigarettes in Superman 3.
Also, who could forget that moment in Superman 2 when General Zod tosses Superman into the side of a Marlboro truck? And what about in the 3rd movie when Gus Gorman has the blueprints for his supercomputer written down on lots of empty cigarette packets?? Lol

This was a series of British ads but they were was produced and animated in the USA by legendary American animator Eric Goldberg for Richard Williams Animation Studio, they offered to just dub it over so DC wouldn't have to but the DC staff said that superman stood for American ideals and hated the thought of him having a British accent.
I've only seen those three UK anti-smoking animated ads featuring the famous DC character from the early 80s on CZcams before and they are really interesting. They have been teaching kids not to smoke cigarettes because smoking cigarettes is a really bad habit. I've never tried cigarettes at all. I used to smoke cigars but not anymore and I'm giving up for them from now on.

I like how with the first commercial, they unintentionally implied that it’s okay to kill dealers. Then the next 2 he landed relatively safely or crawled away.

It's like you telling yourself "I am NOT afraid" when going trough a haunted house, not only are you reminding yourself that fear exists when you should be focusing on something else, but you will most likely be afraid, or in this case, end up smoking
