The Justice League animated series prioritizes lesser-known versions of heroes, reminding us that there is so much more scope to this universe beyond the usual go-to heavy hitters.

Justice League is the third pillar of DC's animated trinity that best captured the world's finest and every following adaptation has been playing catch up ever since.

The Justice League animated series had universal appeal in that sense, treating both audiences and the team itself with the kind of respect live-action cinema would not even begin to attempt until a few years later. This was reflected in the signature animation style of Bruce Timm, which channeled the grandeur of classic Golden Age and Silver Age comics with much-needed weight in the fight scenes, imbuing them with a tangible physicality sans blood or gore. This is remarkable how well all this animation stands up still today.

The pitch-perfect voice actors of the Justice League animated series included Maria Canals, Susan Eisenberg, Phil LaMarr, Carl Lumbly, George Newbern and Michael Rosenbaum alongside the legendary Kevin Conroy, the definitive Batman for many. Together, the cast balanced all the stoic heroics we have come to expect from these heroes with a lighter touch that no other adaptation has nailed so easily because the world needs saving and there is a lot at stake, but that does not mean everyone has to scowl under their cowl the whole time. Even more serious characters enjoyed sometimes lighthearted moments in the show, reminding us that they are ultimately still human whether they were born in the United States of America or on the galaxy.

These emotional beats resonated so strongly because Justice League embraced continuity across multiple part storylines and even longer season wide plotlines that gave the characters space to connect with us and each other beyond flashy displays of power. The same can be said for the supporting characters and one-off guest appearances. Each was given equal respect by the creators who clearly held a deep love for the source material, and the same is true of the voice talent who brought them to life as well.

Whether the story at hand brought in the whole cast or featured just a select few heroes at a time, everyone had their fair share of the spotlight with unique character dynamics that made the team feel like a family and not just randoms brought together to fight a threat too big for any one hero.

Here aftet the sad part of Crisis part 3, this theme brings back memories of when I first watched Justice League on Netflix since Unlimited on Boomeraction was first introductional exposure to Justice League :) Teen Titans may have been my first introduction to DCAU, but then to tell the truth? there are times that my nostalgia for Teen Titans compared to my other DCAU and DC animation faves like Batman and Superman TAS',Batman Beyond,Krypto,The Batman 04',Legion of Superheroes,The Brave and The Bold,Static Shock, and Batman Unlimited can be pretty dull due to the show's fanbase's never ending beef with Teen Titans GO! since I on the other had didn't care for that reboot much while I also think it ain't worth getting furious over, for me atleast😅 but Justice League and Justice League Unlimited when I first watched them on both Boomerang (*before feeling burnt out from Hanna Barbera) and Netflix? unlike my embarrassing former favorite childhood show Teen Titans, they make my childhood for DC awesome and fun because without them? my life as a sane DC fan wouldn't be the same, both shows have awesome music, a cool toyline, and yet even my favorite episodes like the one with Solomon Grundy and the other where it features Batman Beyond too imo, and I mean that with all my heart :D Also, RIP Kevin Conroy, I enjoyed all Batman voices like Roger Craig Smith and Rino Romaro equally but I'll always remember him as the voice of Batman/Bruce Wayne in BTAS,Batman Beyond, and JLTAS/Unlimited.

Imagine if they used this for Infinity War, it's like the theme could have evolved throughout the course of the movies; from Silvestri's theme in 1, Elfman's theme in 2, then this one for 3. I would've preferred that over going back to reusing the 1 theme again. Then Endgame could reuse all three themes into one big epic compilation for the big, grand finale. On a personal note, maybe do an edit incorporating this theme into Infinity War? I feel like this specific theme would be epic during the scene where Cap and Black Widow returns.

Twilight starts the second season by going bigger than the first season ever did, with a war between Darkseid and Brainiac, with Superman and the Justice League caught in the middle, Tabula Rasa provides unexpected character development for Mercy Graves, Only a Dream introduces one of the best villains in the series in Doctor Destiny, with creepiness to the powers of nightmares in its antagonist, and Maid of Honor is the best episode focused on Wonder Woman in the DC Animated Universe, the friendship she forms with Princess Audrey being surprisingly endearing. After all of these excellent outings, Justice League Season 2 tops itself with A Better World, which introduces the Justice Lords, the Terror Beyond, which both dips into the Cthulhu mythos and manages to make fans cry over Solomon Grundy, and Hereafter, which is the best adaptation of the Death of Superman to date. This energy continues all the way through the end of the season, with Wild Cards being a welcome Joker story, as well as a pseudo crossover with Teen Titans, Comfort and Joy being a relaxing Christmas episode, and Star-Crossed being one of the most epic Justice League stories of all time, with the biggest twist in the series, and an all-out war between the Justice League of America and the people of Thanagar.

The second season of the Justice League animated series accomplishes the nearly impossible task for any episodic television series of not including a single bad episode. Every episode of Justice League Season 2 is a complete triumph, and its finale, Star-Crossed, is far and away the best self-contained story in the series.

The strongest episodes of Justice League Season 1 are Legends and A Knight of Shadows. Legends has the most unique premise of any story this season, featuring the Justice League members encountering a pastiche of the Justice Society of America in a strange, 1940s-like world, while A Knight of Shadows sees the welcome return of Jason Blood, also known as Etrigan the Demon, following his appearance in Batman: The Animated Series. The Savage Time has the best action of the first season of the Justice League animated series, and seeing superheroes punching Nazis is always a fun time.

For every musketeer movie, this adaptation is the benchmark, and although there have been some good ones - among a lot of trash -, none of them has ever quite cut it yet. And in particular, this cast set the ultimate benchmarks especially for Athos, Aramis, Richelieu and Rochefort.

The best theme ever in a superhero TV series.

My guess is, this was all Feige's idea to cut Tyler and even Elfman's scores in favor of rehashing Silvestri's scores from the first film, essentially when you consider the creative clashes he had with Whedon over this film, and also the fact that they brought back Silvestri for the last two Avengers movies when Whedon was out.
