बात बहुत पुरानी है, एक गाँव में यही कोई 1000 से 1200 के बीच लोग रहा करते थे। समस्या ये थी के वहा के लोगों में एकता नहीं थी, हमेंशा लड़ाई झगड़ा, भाई भाई का सगा नहीं था, ना ही कोई अपने माँ बाप और बड़े बुजर्गों का आदर किया करता था।
एक दिन एक साधू वहाँ से गुज़र रहा था, तो उसने गाँव में ही रात रुकने का फ़ैसला किया। उसने गाँव की हालत देखी तो उसे तरस आ गया, उसने ग्रामीणों को एक किताब दी ( रामायण, गीता, कुरान, बाइबिल) और कहा की इस किताब में अच्छी बातें लिखी हुई है इसे पढ़ कर या जो पढ़ना नहीं जानता सुन कर अपने जीवन मे उतारो। और वो चले गए।
ग्रामीणों में से जो पढ़ना जनता था उसने किताब को पढ़ कर सभी को सुनाया, सब को किताब की बाते अच्छी लगी, सब ने किताब की अलग-अलग प्रतियां छपवा कर अपने-अपने पास रख ली।
चूंकि किताब सब को अच्छी लगी इसलिए लोगो ने इसे अच्छी
तरह कपड़े से बांध कर संभाल कर रखा, अपने बच्चों को भी छूने
नहीं दिया कि कही किताब खराब ना हो जाये, फिर धीरे-धीरे लोग
उस अच्छी किताब की पूजा करने लगे, काम पर जाने से पहले
किताब को प्रणाम कर के जाने लगे। और ऐसा करते करते
पीढ़ियां गुज़र गई। और ऐसा आज भी जारी है...
लेकिन अभी भी गांव में लड़ाई झगड़े होते है, क्योंकि गाँव वालों ने किताब को तो अपना लिया था, लेकिन उसके अंदर की बातों को नहीं अपनाया था।
“किताबें महत्वपूर्ण नहीं है दोस्तों, उसके अंदर लिखी हुई बातें महत्वपूर्ण है" पढ़ो नहीं समझों.
