Nice to finally see your reaction to this song! I looked up the history of the symbol and the symbol you saw is a military decoration that has been used since 1813 in the Kingdom of Prussia and later in the German empire and ofc WW2. But the symbol was starting to get used in the USA by outlaw motorcycle clubs as a symbol of rebellion and probably for shock value. It spread to rock and heavy metal subcultures, becoming part of heavy metal fashion. Lemmy Kilmister of the influential band Motörhead often wore one.
It is the iron cross and as many symbols it was "stolen" and used by the nazi party. Lemmy was a big ww2 collector and James hetfield as well has it on a guitar. But when it is appearing in a song that pays tribute to a country that fought against Nazism and had devasting consequences it is strange to be used. I am sure that it was used more as war symbol than any deeper meaning.

@@MetalReactions Likely that former band member had the old prussian iron cross because Lemmy used to have that on his guitar. They used to tour back in the days with Motörhead. Sabaton also has a tribute cover of Lemmys anti war song 1916 honoring the late Motörhead singer.
Ι understand why the had it. As I said, it is a bit strange to have it on a video that fought against that symbol. No mater what the meaning is for the band. They should use it in another video except those that are for the ww2

As an Italian I'm feeling both proud because this song make me think also to mu contry, and the grandpa of my mom who fought there, but on the other hands I'm feeling, for obv reasons, to say sorry to Greece because, trust me, only the most fascist would ever join in the war. Most of the Italian soldier were levy who were forced to join in a war they never want

Coat of arms είναι όλα τα λάβαρα που χρησιμοποιούνται σε πολεμικές καταστάσεις. Το ελευθερία ή θάνατος είναι από τα σημαντικότερα σύμβολα της Ελλάδας το οποίο οι συλλαβές του αντικατοπτρίζονται και στις μπλε και άσπρες γραμμές της ελληνικής σημαίας και ήταν το σύμβολο της επανάστασης του 1821

Υπερτιμημένη μπάντα αλλά το συγκεκριμένο κομμάτι τα σπάει!
Υπάρχει τρομερά μεγάλο και δυναμικό κοινό, που στηρίζει σε πωλήσεις και συναυλίες και ειναι και η μοναδική μπάντα που κάνει τέτοιο στιλ στο μεταλ..
@@MetalReactions δεν διαφωνώ απλά έχω κάνει πορωμένο οπαδό της μπάντας να παραδεχτεί πως δίχως τον πολεμικό - ιστορικό στίχο, με ακριβώς τον ίδιο ήχο μετά βίας θα γέμιζαν μικρά venues.
Η εμπειρία που εκλαμβάνει ένας ακροατής είναι αποτέλεσμα πολλών παραγόντων...η θεματολογία είναι ένας από αυτούς... Πχ. Το black με διαφορετικό περιεχόμενο θα είχε εντελώς διαφορετική επίδραση και σύσταση κοινού.
@@MetalReactions ναι απλά πας Rainbow club σε θεματική βραδιά Sabaton - Hammerfall - Blind Guardian και έπειτα από 30 κομμάτια τους, νιώθεις πως με το ζόρι έχεις ακούσει δύο διαφορετικά κομμάτια.
Έχουν μια σταθερή, ανέμπνευστη συνθετική φόρμα!
Κατ' εμέ η πιο κουραστική μπάντα που παρακολούθησα στο περσινό Release festival και ήταν η 2η φορά.
Μην αφήσω την εντύπωση πως εναντιώνομαι στον ιστορικό - πολεμικό στίχο, ίσα ίσα το βρίσκω αρκετά ενδιαφέρον και καλύπτουν ένα ευρύ θεματολογικά κενό!
Αλλά η μουσική ανέμπνευστο κόπι πάστα από την επιτυχία του Primo Victoria! Ανακυκλώνονται και για αυτό είναι από τις πιο υπερτιμημένες μπάντες αυτήν την στιγμή!
