- I like conte crayon better than charcoal. Whenever I use it, I feel like a renaissance artist for some reason!
If anyone wants to look at what kind of art I make, feel free to check out my instagram:

Came for the techniques, stayed for the pear friendship drama
the "yeah yeah, whatever" approach is -so charming-....damn
this commentary is so funny i love it
This was really great- i was assigned to use this material for an art class and it looks like these have a lot of potential!
Holy crap. Aquanet! Damn mega old skool. I likes 👍🏽
i dont usually expect to laugh during a tutorial but here we are.
You had me laughing out loud so many times, especially when discussing how the pears don’t like each other. Everything you said makes complete sense. I followed an artist who had great technical execution, but something’s just missing in her work. She works off of photos that she takes, very poorly taken shots and the work is stiff, conveys zero feeling except “what’s wrong with this, why does it feels off?” I could never wrap my brain around until now. You have to know other artists like this…Ones who will never allow their work to be in an ugly sketchy stage, where all needs to be perfect at all times and it falls flat when others see it.
Found this fabulous and very inspirational thanks for sharing 🌸
I love your humor
You are a great speaker and narrator as you work. I loved your description of the process of capturing emotions through quick drawings, and what makes art unique. Keep making more videos.
That was a really nice way to spend 12 minutes. Both informative and relaxing. Thank you.
Its like magic when you add the white the blue really pops!!!!!
I like drawing with charcoal & recently tried soft pastels, which I found rather difficult & messy to use. The Conte Crayons sound like a good alternative. Thank you for your presentation.
Same here. My great question is: Are these erasable? I bought Kohinoor Artists leads, somehow In white, dark sepia, light brown and Russet Aria. Russet Sepia from kohinoor is not erasable at aLl, while others are quit erasable.
@@khaiber_kakar very late response, but no not really. A kneaded eraser can pick up some of the crayon, but they are partially wax based and the best you'll do is lighten the line to transparent.
THE STORY LINE LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOO things were getting very tense between the pears LMAOOOOOO
Pretty. Try using your igers. I tried paper towel too. Got the same results. But then used my fingers and it works.
It took years, but I found an art supply co, Jackson’s, that offers many colors of conte Also, try putting down a “ground” of white in areas you want to blend later and you can get super blendiness
There are much more Conte Carres colours than just browns and greys! I have a set of 48 colours of those!
I bought some Artists leads In white, dark sepia, light brown and Russet sepia. Russet Sepia from kohinoor is not erasable at all, while others are quit erasable.
The recipe for them is clay, pigment and graphite. So yeah they will feel more like a pencil.
I'm a motivational speaker. I live in a van. There's a river there. You didn't take my shine. Thanks
Enjoyed the video
Hi can you use this crayons on smooth surface paper?thanks
Are these similar to colored pencil sticks like Prismacolor's Art Stix, or are they softer than colored pencil? I'm guessing they last longer than soft pastels too...since they don't break down as much.
Se me antojaron las peras!! :D
What kind of surface would you recommend?
There are a variety of papers that are marketed as being good, or ideal for pastel use, which would also make them suitable for conte crayon as well. Canson Mi-Teintes is probably the most recognizable. But! I always like to give low budget alternatives that are suitable, or just plain interesting. You could try some of the following: construction paper (particularly black!), paper drop cloth from the hardware store (a personal favorite), or even a brown paper bag. Essentially you want something with a little bit of texture.
Thanks for the lesson! Also, Wendy's seems to be triggering your schizophrenia.
Pretentiousness isn't always a bad thing.
