- It's been a while since the last time I used conte. For this drawing, I used both conte stick, conte pencil and white chalk on Canson Mi-Tientes paper. Thank you to Madeline for being such a beautiful model... I love drawing you!
It took roughly about 2:30 hrs for this drawing. Enjoy!

Hi, wonderful video and amazing skill and technique. Can i ask if you are using both sanguine and sepia in the conte sticks and pencils as well as general white charcoal as it seems as though there are two shades there? The pencil definitely looks like a sepia conte pencil. Thank you for sharing.

it's Christmas Day and this is suppose to be a day of joy. Now I am not trying to ruin or diminish anything for anyone but I have to ask the question, why would you make the comment "here is someone who can draw; it's actually pretty rare" with so many great artists out there? Said it before and must say it again. The problem is that nobody wears a "headwrap". It seems to be an artifact from past centuries, or worse yet, a supposedly acceptable way to enhance the composition by introducing what amounts to a large hat. Only, it is a major turn off every time I see it. Headwraps come across as a strained affectation.
Lol open your mind and accept the differences. People wearing much more different things nowadays! Cheers!
@@CuongNguyenArt Hello! Sure, people wear all sorts of things, but nobody wears a bulky "headwrap". I've seen and studied a lifetime of fine art, and in each and every case the artist resorted to depicting a woman in a headwrap, it was not an artistic success and seemed quite strained. I think the only artists who did it successfully were Van Eyck and Van der Weyden.
@@KpxUrz5745 I believe you haven't seen all, go to some different countries, women, and some men too , wearing 4 meters of fabric on their heads.
@@CuongNguyenArt I understand. However, this woman looks European, and not of a typical ethnicity that might routinely wear headdresses. In any case, in the end the drawing must succeed on its own merit, and hopefully the garb and accoutrements will not seem out of place.
