    Empty frame Would help with all the wax. That way they got a place to put the wax Great video

    For cutting the cells out, better use a heated knive, a scissors is way more prone to damage the cells by bending. Apart from that, good work. but you can easly reduce comb build by 90%. Just attach 5 cm of 4x4 mm mesh on both sides of the grafting bar. This way the bees will accept the cells but don't build comb, due to keeping the beespace.

    Hi Trev
    I love your videos. You are very Genuine, You truly want to help others in their beekeeping journey. I have been keeping bees a long time but I seem to learn something new along the way. Watching this video of yours I saw something that I have been wanting to build and that was the cell warmer to take to the field. I understand the temp controller part okay but the heating unit has me stumped. Could you explain the components in it to the best you can. I know you stated a friend made it for you. Or could you make a video for us youtubers show us the parts and possibly the temp you run. And any other info about the unit that you feel would help us make this unit and to operate it. Lonnie

    Hi trev just for my curiosity when the cells are not made into queens do the bees clean the grubs out and do you use the cell cups again or throw them away . Your idea of the irrigation pipe isn't cheap and miserable its bloody smart why waste money to hard to come by take care .

    This series on raising queens has been an educational boon for me. Thank You for putting it together. Trev, why did the bees draw out so much comb over the top row of queen cells?

    • @lgalardi
      @lgalardi Před 6 lety

      Okay, so if you had not taken those Queen cells out of the nuc, it's more than likely that the Queens in the top row would never have gotten out because there was too much comb drawn over them. Is that correct? And one other question, suppose you had more Queens than you have hives available. How do you keep all of the extra Queens if you had maybe 50 that you couldn't use? They would need workers with them to feed them, so is there some sort of hive that's even smaller than a nuc you could set up? By the way, I find it very fascinating and hope one day to do this myself, so right now I am enjoying learning so much from people willing to share their experience as you so kindly do.

    Good job Trevor. Very admirative of your work. You seem to be using plastic frames a lot more than back in the days. I remember you mentioned using them for real specific purposes. How are you finding them in general?

    Trevor, thanks again for another great video. would the original cell carrier that you heated up that pad in the styrofoam cooler, keep the cells on about an 8 hour car ride, I want to make some and take some to my wife’s uncle so we can split a bunch of hives. This is just a first time trial and error for us. Thanks again Trevor.
