Sir Fern.. yung next building after Elizalde building sa likod mismo ng City Hall is another restored old corporate building called Ker Building.. Ngayon ay city hall museum at gagawin daw later na Art Museum para sa mga local Ilonggo artist.

Yep i remember yco floorwax. My sister used it when shining our wood floors 😜. If I remember it right it was super red in color, I remember when my parents will buy the in tin cans and my sister would use butter knife to open it up. It was also available small blocks and it wrapped in plastic. Wow! This is very reminiscent ❤

Yes, there are 1913 bldgs in calle real (jm basa st) in iloilo city..iloilo used to be the queen city of the south long before cebu became a trading center in the visayas and mindanao.

My dad worked for Elizalde and my family lived there from 1969-1982. We had a ball room, where I learned ride a bicycle. Great memories.

Years ago, I attended a private dinner. Beside me was seated a very distinguished elderly gentleman, and he introduced himself as Mr. Ynchausti. At that time i recalled the images of the once elegant Ynchausti mansion in Manila that was unfortunately destroyed during the liberation of Manila during WW2. I can't help myself asking him about it, and he mentioned that he was born in that house and lived in it as a young child. It would be great if you can research on old photos of the Ynchausti Mansion in Manila. It was really elegant and grand .
That commercial building is worth saving and who would have thought that it will become a museum.

Napakalaking building, parang palasyo na ang lawak. The building is so huge and long, it feels like you are inside a palace. Iloilo's heritage structures are by incredible.
