    Hello, wanted to give you a little suggestion on something I noticed in this video and what I have discovered.
    1. I hate using electrical tape, it gets hot and gooey after a few months and usually comes unwound from the wires.
    2. I like that you soldier your connections and not use the connectors already supplied, it's not like you need to disconnect those wires any time soon.
    Anyway getting back to the tape thing, I have discovered something called Gaffers tape, it's very sticky, looks like the factory wire tape and heat doesn't seem to bother it so it doesn't come unstuck after a few months.
    Give it a try and let me know what you think.

      @FiveStarCarStereoInc  Před 7 lety +1

      Jason Pedigo thank you. We have Gaffers tape for the movie make equipment. The tape we are using is Tesa tape, it is cloth like the factory uses. Black tape, like you said is useless here in Florida for sure.

      Five Star Car Stereo, I didn't realize you were using Tesa tape, sorry about that.

    You have a single pair of speaker wire coming from your amp, how do you end up with a two positive and two negative to feed each speaker? Does the line from the amp go directly onto the woofer and the attach the Tweeter to the woofer too?

  • @jmaslin
    @jmaslin Před 7 lety

    well darn, wish my 05' F150 had 6x9's LOL. But now still 5x7's in the 14' F250, go figure..... Keep up the good information guys!!

    Will you ever do a video on the focal line of products. I'm thinking about changing out my 6x8 Memphis coax for some focal auditor r or hertz dsk components in my f150. Which would be better off a pioneer deck

  • @jackjetpilot
    @jackjetpilot Před 3 lety

    Did I miss it? It is not explained how to hook up the woofer crossover or how this plugs into the truck?

    • @FiveStarCarStereoInc
      @FiveStarCarStereoInc  Před 3 lety

      It has 2 sets of speaker wire inputs on it. One for a factory amplified system that has active crossovers. One for a non factory amplified system. It is printed on the speaker which input is which.

      Rob Zilla yes, it will work fine but components will sound better. If you’re gonna spend the money, go with components. You’ll be happier, trust me.

    @Tyw569 Před 7 lety

    Great video!! My only question is if you were running the stock head unit and decided to amp the speakers would you need a 6 way since the components don't meet at a common box or would a 4 way like an alpine power pack be able to push front and rear doors?

    • @FiveStarCarStereoInc
      @FiveStarCarStereoInc  Před 7 lety

      Tyler Wilson no a four channel amp is fine. They don't have a common box but it is all the same parts. They just took the box any and split the crossover in half. Each part going the the speaker it is made for. It is a way nicer way to build a crossover network.

      If I may ask,... considering I added an aftermarket amp. How exactly would the wiring be done, given I have 2 outputs for the front speakers. Should I run wire to the tweeter and to the door from there? wouldn't the crossover already filter out the low/mids then?

      @rollintoastmonstyer5 Před 4 lety

      I’m replacing my factory speakers with Focal components in my 16 Ford King Ranch ( mid bass,tweeter,crossover)My question is ,do I use the crossover output for the tweeter or the factory harness output/ connector?Does the door speaker get a full range signal?

    Interesting vid, well done. But I got one for ya,,,, I have looked all over the internet for 6x9 front door speakers with big bass, And I can't believe how low cost some of these speakers are, I'm looking to spend about $200.00 for the pair, just bass on these and nothing else. I have seen speaker that say they have big bass for like $75 dollars for the pair and I'm like there's no way for that low a price,,,, what am I missing here ? I can't find a descent 6x9's speakers and when I do, then I find something that is just as good if not better. How do I choose PLEASE, do you have any recommendation ???? they will be for a 2006 jeep grand cherokee overland, thank you so much.... GOD BLESS....

  • @TheFiendRacer

    I put the ISS 165s 6.5" in my car and immediately took them out. I don't know if the 6x9 version is better but the 6.5 version is awful. They are way too harsh, sound very thin and lack midbass even in a sound deadened door.
