- In this video, I have shown how to reset windows 7 administrator password using command prompt without any software or ISO file or Pendrive at the time of #windowspasswordforgot.
Steps to reset or remove Admin Password:-
1. Restart the Pc.
2. After shutdown, while booting the Pc, keep pressing your computer or laptop power button to abort the process and shut down it.
3. Now switch it on again, then go for Repair the Pc.
4. On Startup Repair, click on "view Problem details" dropdown.
5. click on the bottom-most link to open the text file.
6. Click on File and then click on "Open".
7. Now click on "Computer", then select the Windows installed Partition Drive.
8. Go to "Windows", then "System32".
9. Change the Files of Types to "All Files".
10. Now search "sethc" file and rename to "sethc1".
11. Search "cmd" and rename to "sethc". By these steps "sethc" is replaced by "cmd" prompt with administrative privileges.
12. Close All windows now and the system will be restarted.
13. On Log-in page keep clicking on "shift" key for 5 times, it will open sethc.exe
14. Now check your user accounts by "net users" command.
15. The password reset command is -
"net user administrator *"
16. Enter a new password as per your wish or left it blank.
17. Now login with a new password in your Administrator account.
18. After successfully login Go to "Windows", then "System32".
19.Now search "sethc" file and rename to "cmd.exe"
20.Now search "sethc1" file and rename to "sethc".
So that you can use cmd prompt and sethc as usual.
Here I have given a demo of #windowspasswordrecovery and resetting windows 7 password without disk or USB, by following these steps you will come to know how to factory reset windows 7 without password or cd. you can do #windowspasswordreset without cd or software and reset windows 7 password without logging in.

While this process did allow me to reset the Admin password and logon as Admin instead of a user account, it unfortunately did not release the admin policy / rights restrictions that are hampering the user account from making any changes to system settings. Any suggestions on freeing up the ability to make changes under the newly available admin logon would be much appreciated.

I hit launch startup repair and it takes me to a screen saying system recovery options and asks me to login using a local user or admin. I never get to the other screen

It is likely that this no longer works as I do not receive the option at reboot it asks for safe mode or network mode or normal. They shut this workaround

Please help me I have just got my new laptop from Dell but I don't no my system password help me
I didn't get that option, there are four options like
Safe mode
Safe mode with networking
Safe mode with command prompt
Start windows normally
And even after clicking on these options, I didn't land on that option as described by you.

I think you dint not get that option due to fast booting. Disable fast booting from your bios then again try it.

As we can type password in command so i also kept it blank and closed the final window and clicked finished.... System is still asking password
