Note: Plz rename utilman.exe back to cmd.exe and utilman1.exe back to utilman.exe

This is amazingly quick for anybody thats even average with computers,though i would consider myself to be over average in computer knowledge i did not know this and its helped me countless times when "fixing" their computer when they lost their password.

I adopted this solution without using an external bootable iso of Win10, but from cmd in "Advanced options" of "Windows recovery environment" and with Windows 10 build 1803 user panel didn't change user password, i think Microsoft fixed this security bug, but saved me from bootloop caused by driver verifier! Great solutions for repairing system mistake in recovery mode with no user login! Good job!

Simplify your command line instructions to just:
ren Utilman.exe Utilman1.exe
Copy cmd.exe Utilman.exe
After you change password and close User Accounts.
del Utilman.exe
ren Ultiman1.exe Utilman.exe
Close Command Prompt and login.
done.
I think is utilman instead ultiman

I restart my pc then it takes me to asus uiefi bios utility, and i can boot off my flash drive but then it brings me to the main windows screen not the windows setup.

This is great!! It worked with no risk of viruses or malware. One thing to add, if BitLocker is activated you will have to deactivate it first.

There are other ways to do it but if your PC it's locked by an email managed account, this is the best way cause you can delete that account.
You can delete that account and than you can activate the Administrator account.
You will do :
net user Administrator active
After this just reboot the pc. You will see the Administrator account

TAZZROK no it's not software. Software is a bit of code, a bootable pen drive/disc drive is a solid object which you can run your compute off. Just look it up.

No, genius, a boot disk is NOT hardware. It's a disk full of BOOTABLE SOFTWARE.

No, the disk itself is "Media"... simply a repository for transporting the software, NOT hardware.

Benjamin Green you need a flash drive and an ISO file then there is a software named Rufus you download it and use it to burn the window ISO file to your pendrive
I've done it with an Ubuntu drive and copied and renamed the files by hand

So I know this is a late reply but you can actually once you are in that control panel section just add yourself as a network administrator, you don't think to reset the password or change thing around you can just give yourself the admin through the control prompt

generally F9 to get to the boot screen for most HP
It actually if for the best if you don't you the shortcut key you will get to learn a bit more about you computer like about the boot setting enabling legacy boot and stuff like that but totally fine if you want to use shortcuts like F8 and F9 and F2 and F10 goes like that depending on the the company and hardware of your PC so keep learning and this channel is very good and you can also check out channel if you want to ask me questions personally

Or just do one thing.Create a bootable pendrive with an iso file of any OS like ubuntu,kali etc.with bootable software you will get tons on internet.Then when laptop is off put that PD in USB port and start when it is booting press F2,Esc,F8 ,F4 to enter into BIOS.Once you get in BIOS change sequence of booting and give first preference to USB.After hit enter and then system will boot OS from PD and it will not ask any pas and you can access all files which are stored on main OS.
Just hold f12 while restarting
