    Actually, the real reason Lincoln’s death wasn't cleared is due to the brutal historical accuracy being extremely distressing to the players because they were all huge fans of Abraham Lincoln and his patented logs

    I think the rhythm level was supposed to be "jump whenever the ring aligns with the enemy" similar to how in normal rhythm games like guitar hero you press the color when the input aligns with the timing indicator

      The mighty plumber giveth, and the mighty plumber taketh away. It is funny to see Piranha hitboxes be bad in terms of not killing you where they probally should have, and then munchers hitbox is just a giant fuck you box of death.

      I assume the piranha plant hitbox being smaller than it's sprite is a reference/carryover from the original SMB, where the piranha plant hitboxes were also very small.

    I loved that first level.
    It stuck to the precision theme and it explored it in with a lot of different tricks I have never seen before.
    The creator put the time to visually style the level to, so you can tell he put really wanted it to be seen as a good level.

    Talking about that intro : The goomba wouldnt be walking when you think about his position when you enter the screen. It would be quite impressive if his tempo shifted or hell, even if the goomba would walk in place so hes always in the same spot when entering the screen. The bigger question is do goombas have a conscience to predict where to "spawn"? I will be looking into this for the next uncleared levels episode. Thank you for listening to my Ted Talk!

    About that rhyhm game, i'm fairly certain it's a reference to taiko no tatsujin(a drum rhythm game). The bumper that was on the track going along was supposed to be "cursor" that moves along and depending on what was in the circle you should push a certain button. Probably jump.

    yo that final level was an attempt at recreating Rhythm Doctor - it's a pretty new (and very cool) rhythm game where you essentially only have a single button and have to hit the beats as they pass by.
    I think the level was a good attempt at making it in mario maker, it just didn't have good lose conditions - it would have worked great if you knew what you were doing, but didn't really punish for doing it wrong.

    The mario 64 trick described at 10:50 is used in fighting games too. We call it plinking. It’s commonly used in Street Fighter 4 as that game as MANY 1-frame links

    The goomba wouldn't walk if nobody was around to see him in single player as he isn't on globally loaded ground, however if he were he would still walk back and forth. Next we look at multiplayer: the world is loaded depending on who is in it meaning the goomba would continue to walk if nobody was around to see him until everyone in the world that *could* observe the goomba dies or leaves. suffice to say the goomba doesn't want to walk when nobody is watching but is anxious in multiplayer and decides that they should until all players are corpses

    0:03 The answer is no. If nobody is around to watch the Goomba, it isn't loaded, and therefore it doesn't exist at all. Imagine if you only existed as long as someone was there to witness you existing? Such is the existential dread that is the life of a Goomba.

    Also fun fact, Christopher Sabat, the voice actor for several Dragonball characters including Vegeta and Piccolo, also voices Player Character Voice "Gruff B" in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, and while he uses a Scottish accent, you can pitch correct it to get pretty damn close to Piccolo or Vegeta.
    I tested this very thoroughly.

    He was actually on to something with the pipes. He was right that the four leftmost pipes corresponded with the four pipes on the right in the main world, but he didn't pick up on the fact that the four rightmost pipes in the sub world were essentially set up in the exact same way with the pipes in the main world, just mirrored. (Pipe #8 in the subworld would come out of pipe #4 in the main world, #7 would come out of #3, #6 would come out of #2, etc)

    I love the Uncleared Levels series. I also especially love when you'll play levels made by your friends, as they tend to add a really special flavor to the episode and always are a rather unique journey.
    Are you still planning to play Mark's level? I think you mentioned you were going to play it when you played through Network's level?

    As far as I know, things in MM2 despawn only when a certain distance away from the player view distance, so theoretically he will walk back and forth when no one can see him, but only if they can ALMOST see him
    HOWEVER, there's also a thing called global ground, the phenomenon where certain objects keep whatever is on top of them permanently loaded so long as they were loaded in by the player at least once. In this case, the goomba would walk back and forth forever no matter the distance of the player, unless they enter a pipe or maybe a door.

    Yeah, I am commenting on a three years old video (the algorithm, am I right?) but if anyone is curious about the last level at 20:23 it is actually a semi-auto level: if you do not move at all, you will be exactly where the bumber at the top is; the point of the level is to jump just as the bumper passes over a coin. Pretty fun and short level.

    10:52, In fighting games we have a similar technique called Plinking from Street Fighter 4! Pressing two buttons right after each other doubled your chances to hit your frame window for a link!

    I assume on the rhythm level if you dont press anything you will be lined up with the ring thats moving to the right at the top. You have to jump whenever the ring passes over an enemy to have Mario jump at the block below them to collect coins

    On the pick a path level, you were close, but miscounted I think at the end. The subworld had 9 pipes and the creator presumably placed the correct pipe first at 1/9, then every pipe after was in order right to left 2-9 being left to right 1-8 in the overworld. However, like you said, he didn't want the first pipe to be the solution so he swapped positions 1 and 4. Thus the final pipe configuration was 1:4, 2:2, 3:3, 4:correct, 5:1 (1:1 displaced by the correct pipe), 6:5, 7:6, 8:7, 9:8 On your first try after counting you accidentally ran to pipe 6 instead of 4, then went one less, but because there were 9 subworld pipes instead of 8, you ended up in the displaced pipe. Hence #4 being correct. Your theory was correct, I believe you just miscounted subworld pipes :)

    Rhythm Mario was basically a rhythm game. You had to jump at the right time on the bullet bill launchers to get either the on and off switch or a coin. Failure to do so would've GAME ENDED YOU.

    Not relevant but i was watching this video and a big cockroach jumped on my hand
    I screamed out of fear
    The cockroach is still somewhere around the couch

    Edit: its been 3 hours, i spent all this time searching for that cockroach to destroy him once and for all, but i didnt expect such cowardness inside it as it keeps hiding in different places

    To answer your question, no the goomba does not move if nobody sees him because he is an abstract concept, designed using an object oriented programming language. He is simple, single unique instance of a larger goomba class developed to be copied identically and reused time and time again. His life is short and meaningless. The moment the scene changes the goomba object is recycled and the actual physical space his code was occupying is repurposed to another object. Possibly another goomba in another scene - a perpetual cycle of birth and rebirth developed for your entertainment. Worse yet, this particular goomba was loaded into a pre-made title screen level. Meaning the amount of time his code spent loaded as a unique goomba instance is drastically cut down because fuck title screens. He doesn't even get a dignified death, like mario stepping on him before his deconstructor is called. Instead he thrown away with the worthless scene Nintendo made to complement a menu select. Imagine, if we were all born into a simulation like this goomba. We would be worthless, and when we die we would be thrown away just like this goomba and wouldn't even know it. Fuck this life, fuck this game, fuck just fuck.

    The Rhythm Mario level looks like a tribute to the Taiko Tatsujin (Master of Taiko) series. Where the bumper move on to the enemy you jump to hit them.

    Alright on Jump Simulator the solution is real simple
    The 1st pipe as you tried spit you out four from the left in the main world
    So that would mean if all the other pipes were supposedly in order, then the correct pipe would be 4 from the right side
    Which it was
    All the creator did was swap the first from the right and fourth from the right
