- Hey party people! Thanks so much for hanging out with me today while I share with you some Camp theme School lunch ideas / What I packed my kids for school lunches! I tried to incorporate some woodland creatures... I did my best... pinterest was my friend... but I still feel like I failed. haha! These theme lunch ideas are fancy enough - but not too fancy- so the average mom, like me, can re-create them and still feel like super mom!

I grew up on pound cake and boiled peanuts during the summertime. We spent all our summer days in the pool and my grandparents gave us endless amounts of boiled peanuts, pound cake, and watermelon. Oh, the memories.
I love that ranch my kids rather have that one over any of the other ones. Love this weeks lunches

BTW Izzy has a hard time opening the yum box we are still working on it. But she can open the other one just fine. I think it’s bentgo box. They are on Groupon for cheap.

Oh and I use the bentogo box for my daughter. The reviews said it’s more leakproof then the yum box and it definitely has never leaked on me and I put yogurt and applesauce in it all the time.

I’m really impressed with your theme lunches. They look great! Also, yes, boiled peanuts are a southern thing. My husband, who’s from New York, is horrified that we eat them that way 😂😂😂
Kim Allan I grew up with northern raised parents so I had the same suspicions when I first happened upon boiled peanuts! I actually hated them at first I thought they were gross and messy but now I love them!

Hay kim great video, we have the yum box the one for sandwich not bento style but we also have a bento go which is a bit smaller but I feel way more leak proof. We use both and I love them when my son gets older I’ll get the bigger version of both. My son only really gets 20min for lunch so I tend not to pack so much and to his dismay 1st graders don’t get a snack time so he is really good about finishing his food cause he knows it will be a long time til he eats again his lunch is at 11:30 and he doesn’t get home til 4:15

I know this is an older video but to cute. As far as the boiled peanuts, so yummy, you can boil them over the fire during the day. So much fun to do. My little one is only 2 so I am learning some great tips...The cupcake toppers are the best. I have added them to my lunch box ideas for when she is older. Thank you.

oh i loved tis theme!! I kinda want corn now lol :D send that uneaten one my way haha. We have had yumboxes before and i do like them but they are quite small. We have boxes from Stuck on You now, same price and style but the compartments are a bit bigger.

My dad is Anglo-Indian and makes some killer boiled peanuts. He adds some chili powder in while boiling and they taste amazing. I guess it's popular there, too? I don't know. He went from there to Chicago, so it must be.

Cute idea! I use the sistema bento cube works pretty well hasn't leaked yet but don't see it being that leak proof when put to the test. Ideally I would love the omie box but it's kind of on the pricier side and haven't purchased it yet, so for now the bento cube will work.

Lol yep, I live in California and yesterday we had 3 fires break out in our area. We live up against the mountain and we have been evacuated several times thanks to the fires. Then during the rainy season we have to watch out for mudslides. But I will take it. No hurricanes, no snow, no tornados, and usually no humidity lol. As far as the treats, yep many kids do take crap (brownies, cookies, muffins, etc) a lot of parents are the grab and go....grab it, throw it in the lunch box and send them on their way so she probably isn’t exaggerating. Others don’t have time so it’s easiest to grab the individual bags of chips, cookies, etc. we have the yum box (we love it) we also have the cat and jack one that you have, the bentgo box and the planet box (I love the planet box but for the price....we paid like $90.00 for ours...the Yum box is def better) we use the yum box the most so I think you will love it once you start using it :) cute theme this week. Love it.
Meredith Hills yikes!! Mudslides are something I’ve never had to deal with! How awful for real- and the smoke lingers it’s just terrible. Hope you and your family have been able to stay safe through it all
Yes, thank you, we have been extremely blessed and grateful. We have had family and friends lose their homes but everyone has stayed safe so far. It’s crazy how each state has their own issues. I have soo many family and friends who live in FL and every time I hear about a hurricane headed there, I always worry for everyone’s safety (including those of you I follow on CZcams who live there) I guess we learn how to live with what we are handed. Oh btw, I thought the cheese was a ladybug before you said it so it worked :)

I love hot dogs and beans. My kid only eats them separately. Such a pill. She has a couple of yumboxes that we have used for two years now. They work great and I waited for a sale.

Back in 2008 I spent forth of July in St.Petersburg with family. I found it completely weird that the party we went to had a fire pit. I was like it is way to hot for a fire pit.
Tell your kids if they eat most of their lunches especially the fruits & veggies, then you will pack a treat in tbeir lunches at the end of the week ☺
Never been camping either we camped in our tent one time as a kid n our backyard and while we are sleeping someone steals all my dad's lawn stuff like trailer n lawn mower n more which was right by us n we lived in a really nice area

The camp lunch with the beans and sausage (sorry im from the uk so dont know its american name) corn on the cob and teddy smores looks amnazing. Im 32 and id love you to make me that lunch 😁 lol xxx
The only theme I could think of would be shapes. I know you're not interested in being too fancy, so you can probably get through 3 days (round, triangle, square) without having to bust out cookie cutters.

The banana chips will stay crunchy in a plastic bag as long as you have a desiccant pack in it. Just keep the packs from empty bags and reuse them a couple of times.

THE WADS I would do it :) it's fun for kids to choose what they eat so you could give them like 5 options from what you have as a veggie, 5 for what you have as a fruit and the main course and it could be a game :) try it out in the next video

I made them that way in our old house where we had a gas burner!! So much better than doing it out in the heat! haha - we also have a fire pit but good lord that thing never gets used!

Why don’t you do the whole “ideal” lunch and you get 1 fruit 1 vegg 1 sweet treat and 1 main dish so your not packing too much or too little and they get a little bit of everything they love.

Where are the kids thermoses from?
They are from Target. Opal house line 8.99 for that size and 12.99 for large size. Really cute prints and yes they they actually do keep food warm. But preheat the thermos first.

I’m not going to lie, the cheese didn’’t look like a ladybug. However, I did know it was a ladybug. I mean it am an adult and a teacher so that might have helped.
We do not do this type of lunches in Holland. Ours are so simple; just a sandwich, apple and something to drink.

Why are you so passive about your kids wasting food and hardly eating anything? You pull out full lunch boxes and go "oh that's okay"
I mean most of the time the food gets eaten and doesn't go to waste - even if it goes to our chickens I'm okay with that too. Some days are better than others - I don't always eat everything on my plate as I was taught as a child and I believe that instills some eating behaviors that I don't agree with so I never force my kids to eat everything given to them. As long as they're eating healthy I'm okay.
