Ok I just got to say and I do know better but according to the Rockville guys this sub should now be cea rated at 4k rms
Nigga how fucking dumb are you lmao
That is like the cheapest sundown you can get also did you see how small the magnet was yes man totally gunna take 4k rms at a 8k peak
cEa
@Tekboy 808 you're clearly the 10 year old. No one, I repeat, no one any age above 10 would say derp. Stop fronting.
@Tekboy 808 and not everyone can tell when someone is being sarcastic on the internet because you can't tell the tone of one's voice
4 people dislike the video must be from Rockville
@Alijah Zachariah Bruh shut up
You all probably dont give a damn but does any of you know of a way to get back into an Instagram account??
I was dumb lost the account password. I love any tips you can offer me!
@Leroy Jordy instablaster :)
Lol true story...... I got these subs on a 3,000 watt Orion amp and it bangs never had 1 big of trouble never no smell or anything a great sub if your poor like me
Rockville are horrible subs
Wish subs like that were around back in the day when I was a struggling 16yr old making $4.75/hr! 🤣
fosgate had a price friendly 12" for less than that when min wage was $3.35/hr and don't forget MTX thunder that were found in all new Circuit City locations when they first opened!
@@666hobart I was running MnM Godfathers back then ;)
Yea man. I remember that. I was 16 years old and minimum wage was 4.75. I made next to nothing on my first summer job and I was supposed to inherit my grandfathers truck. I was going to put a system in it.
Ended up being given to my cousin because he needed a work truck.
No hard feelings though because he had a family.
All of you guys are rich, buying MTX Thunder and Fosgate. My first subs were some shit called Black Phantoms and a Unic amp. That was back in 89 when I was young and broke as fuck.
@@666hobart I'm still pounding a set of 12" MTX Thunders (red rubber surrounds, made in USA) for my home theater subs.
Thanks for running different models through the "proving grounds". Keep up the good work
EXO has a vid of a guy with 8 of those lcs 12s doing 154db😎.
the thing about Derrick is you can count on him to keep it real!
I think they were the E series in that old Suburban? Not sure but i was thinking that too when contemplating on buying 4 of these
@@dologarage6481 yeah now that I think about it I think your right because the lcs don't have the rubber gasket and those look like they had them.
@@edud8452 yes exactly.. But the more im seeing these the more im kinda liken them..
Wish they came in 15's Im doing my buick. Just got done doing my truck with two 15in SA-rev3 and its loud. So i wanted to keep the flow but do a (budget build) this time around..
@@dologarage6481 that Explorer is sweet that is a clean install I like all the blue lighting😎
@@edud8452 thanx man.. Appriciate it..
Thank you so much for honest ratings and tests!
4 dislikes from the Rockville gang lmfao.. love how you flipped this into a new series haha 😂
Been looking at budget subs and honestly I may buy 2 of these for a rig I have! Glad this came up in my recommendation. Liked and subscribed
I got my autographed LCS 12's in today. It was so cool of you to do that I had to make a video of the unboxing of them. Thanks Derrick, you rock!
Let us see how much it can take befor it blows play it for 5 min then up the power by 100 watts after every 5 min would be a great video and would prove how good the subs really are
Gimme gimme!!!!😊
EXOcontralto getting mine
Straight out of the box! I know what I want for my home theater subs
Shots fired !!! Rockville just got hit hard, don't call nobody It's over they ain't surviving this. 💀☠👻
Keep it rocking brother!!! Just got my shirts last week in the mail !!
great job man, some of these videos on youtube should not even be fighting this whole thing right now. keep up the good work..
I seen this video just out of curiosity, as I already know what Sundown is. Keep up the good work man 👌
Great video Derrick. Wish I had known about these beasts last month
Selling rate just went up 99.9% on these woofers for sure 😂😂😂😂😂
Yep - All that overstock just started shipping.
The shirt is very fitting for this particular video lmao
great videos keep them coming
Great job on the videos earned a subscriber
Sundown is sure to amaze it's a great product keep up the good work guys 💯👍
This was my first choice in a subwoofer for my truck. My APMN-2000 however, decided it needed to turn into smoke and melted rubber. Just upgraded to a SA-15 V2.
Love these videos! What size sealed/ported box do you recommend for these? No info on the website.
Can you go into detail about what the problems other subs have and what makes your subs capable of being able to handle test tones at rated power?
Got in on the 2 for $159 lot sale last year. Now I have 4. Ballin'. FUCKING LOVE SUNDOWN
The good thing about Rockville is all these "will it blow" vids...lol.
Would be awesome to see these subs taken to failure though. Love sundown audio!
TY for not throwing the screws in the cone this time! pet peeve of mine lol ;)
Which model is that in the poster on the wall?
I woke up at 5am to watch this video.
Awesome sub for the price. And a real test that can provide real data. Thanks! Maybe Rockville will fix their mistake and rate the subs and amps correctly.
Whats the difference between the ev 12 vs lcs 12?? I brough an Ev 12, what amp from down4sound should I get to run it???
I have two of these on a Skar RP-1200 and I have them wired to 1ohm pretty much maxed out. The get warm and smack HARD. They are just eating up all the power.
AWESOME VIDEO AS ALWAYS BROTHER BASSHEAD
love your videos, just a sugestion, could you get a shogun mic or a lapel mic to help cut down on he ambeint noise?
Could you let me know what the vented and sealed box specs are for this sub I have looked everywhere and nobody makes mention of box specs even checked Sundown Audio. and they do not give the Box specs for sealed or ported could you please let me know that would be great thank you
Very niiice, hey Derrick maybe you can help me out here... I bought a set of QBomb truck boxes for my reg can pickup but I have very limited mounting depth, box gives me 5 to start but I could add another inch and half with a couple a MDF rings and I want to fit the best subs I can in there, I know the e12v3's might work but how will they do in ruffly a cube sealed or what would you recommend me going with if not the e12's?
Two strapped to my JL Audio 500/1 in a Q Bomb! Whoo!
Im looling ot so getting a hole new system for my 07jku what would you suggest. Im look at 2 eights to save some space.
I just bought 2 x8 8” woofers for my 2008 silverado with an 1800 watt pipeline amp.
I have been trough my secon pair because they make a loud popping noice after like the 2 song i jam.
Do you know why its doing that??
Ok, so now I'm confused. I was first considering a good 8 but, now I am considering this model. I'm just going to use the Pioneer GMD9706 and power the sub with that. I believe it's 600 W RMS? 2 ohm. I wanted to do a single sub set up with a ported box. So, not only am I confused about which ohm dual voice coil to go with but, now I don't know if I should do a high excursion 8 or, this 12? I already know that I'm going with 2 sets of JBL 6500 components cuz they're affordable and this will be my first system since 9 year's ago. What would you do with this amp? For a ported single sub setup?
You cant run a test tone at RMS rated power through a sub for that long, no sub on the market would survive that kind of torture! OH....
SA only lasted like 12 minutes on 1k (onlt 250 watts more than rated). thats kinda disappointing.
@@beast9731 How is it disappointing? You must be underestimating how hard it is on a sub to play a solid tone at the RMS rating much less more than rated. I don't particularly like SA equipment but it certainly isn't disappointing.
@@beast9731 put your car in neutral and rev it for 12 minutes
@@dylanscrogham why the hell would I do that?
@@beast9731 It's a good comparison, an engine will last 200,000 miles of treated properly. Abuse it and it will blow up, just like ANY subwoofer.
Daaaaam that thing was moving🤙🏽
Sundown is the shit ! No lie I’ve had a sa8 on a Rockford t2500bdco @4 ohm load putting 1500 watt to it and it took it with no problems..
Coolest Test Bench of all!!!!!!!!
So, after watching this whole thing unfold, and several videos from several people, if the Rockville dudes had just rated their sub properly, at like 600w or 500w RMS or something, there would have been no uproar and no issues?
What's the recommended air space and port freq. For these. There are no specs online
Thanx for bein good at the voodoo that you do doo
But is it CEA RATED???? Really need a sarcasm font......
The font you're looking for is: Rockville.TTF
But it goes up in smoke when you use it.
@@u9Nails I think when a sub goes up in smoke. Any sub, the term should be coined my sub just Rockvilled
We need a drinking game using the phrase CEA rated for "those other guys" video.
@@sleeperawaken36 we would be smashed before the other guys CZcams video is even over
whats the sensitivity on this sub ?
What was temp at the coil not dust Cap ?
all of that and you didn't give us the "most" important info is it CEA rated? lol
Is it a CEA rated sub on a CEA rated amp?
Funny, Fosgates T1500BDCP is rated CEA 1500 but actually puts out over 3000. Some people over rate, some underrate. Rockville over rates by calling their shit "usefull". I guess the magnets could be used to find nails in the yard?
Gumby688 that’s funny 😆
Hah more like 1800 maybe
Gumby688 Hope you're doing good. The demo in the Volvo some years back was awesome. Still, bassing?
Impressive!
Sundown does the power it's supposed to and more easy I don't think Rockville is going to have anymore videos especially not with a Sundown subwoofer in it good job sundown
I cannot find this subwoofer anywhere. Is it discontinued?
Ok man next subwoofers I buy are going to be Sundown hands down!
Back in the mid 90's I liked kicker comp and solobaric's, the comps were $139, $149 for 15" $269 for 18" I had em all!! From what I have seen kicker sucks now!! Major improvements over the years!!
Odd question.. How much does it weight? Also what is the recommended box cuft for sealed and vented?
I got a question about subwoofer box sizes and would apreciate if someone could help me.
I am thinking of building a walled enclosure for 2 18s that has a recommended box volume of 7 cubic feet each and I Wonder if i should just multiply the recommended box size with 2 wich would conclude in 14 cubic feet or if it can be smaller than that and if so, how much smaller but still be a very effective box?
Go watch exo. He has 2 18s walled in little blue.
Can I get LCS 12 in dual 2ohm configuration?
awesome video though.
Great test Derrick! I think that sub will probably take over 500 watts easily for testing.
I live in the lowcountry SC where can i buy sundown subs without ordering online??
I did a test similar to this not nearly as accurate with my son with some old fosgates kind of look the same as far as the metal basket and magnet goes and was running at 14 volts 1200 Watson to it for almost 2 minutes and it still didn't blow and it was an old speaker damaged on the face and everything and it still didn't blow up
I just bought 8 of these off yardsale site.
I hoping I get good ones....fingers crossed.
Timothy I got 6 in a flat wall in a Tahoe. Sound good. Sound better than most people would think.
Double rated for 5 minutes should be a bonus clip on these videos, just for fun.
It would likely smoke at 600w.
Would making it with push terminal make it over the 100$.??
Hey Derrick love the vids but couple suggestions you need a microphone and we know sundown is tough but people wanna see it in a car the wanna see rearview mirror shaking the body panels flexing that's what people that don't know much that's how they judge how good a subwoofer is I just bought 2 sa15 because of your videos just wanna help your channel should be way bigger you have some of the best subwoofers out there but most people that are not into car audio haven't heard of you
Im guessin lcs stands for low cost sub????? Right
Good stuff guys. Sure is nice to pay for something and it be true to what they say it is!!!
Dude, i love these subwoofer testings. After watchn this video, im going with 4 of these 12"subs in my next budget build! 100% positive! Thanks
Yeah but why not just get like one skar audio or DC audio 12 for the price of the 4 or just one 15
Depending on you do the 4 may have a little more flex bc they cover more space but at the same time most anyone wants the have loud deep satisfying bass and one 15 on a 2k or even a 1500 would be preferable to me then 4 subs that are from a rly good company but cheap you get what u pay for
@@nickhuttash2619, im talking a budget build for my son, and the more subs u got as teen is really cool for him. Anyways, i have a 15" on 1500watts in my hatchback and yes thats the deep bass i like. I have ran everything from 4 10" subs for the hard hitting to multiple 15" subs and several 12" subs as well. Im 39 and a bass head that has ran bout everything possible and stick to good highend subs, mid and highs, and amps. But yes for me right now, my 15" and all crossfire components works fine. for me
@@nickhuttash2619 yes this does make sense but my son wants 4-12" subs. I run a 15" on 1500 watts. I have more power in my 2k amp but my car cant take much more right now! Lol
@@lukeskywalker2063 does it clips?
My sundown sub failed some how had a duel 2 ohm sub one dropped to 1.4 the other to 0.3
I would be more likely to purchase this sub if it had push terminals on it. I understand why it doesn’t, but if you could possibly make that change/addition it would be great.
You could add them yourself if you're handy that way and really want them. I can understand it being a pain for in and out situations - just a thought. Great price for that woofer as is though.
does this compare to the JL W0 ?
Nice do some zv 5s next
This just in: the CEA rating of the Sundown LCS-12 is 5,000 watts !!!
Oldschool Phillips professional is rated as it plays continuously for 10 years with less then 0,1 distortion
How much for that sub now? Damn I need 3 of them to replace my 12's in my 2000 ford ranger supercab
Is this better than rockford p2's ??????
You can clearly see that Rockville turned up the volume at the end of there video to 3015 watts before it blow lol
Would love to see you test some ground zero stuff
Now this is the one I've been waiting on!
I need one of those banners!
Wonder how long it would handle double rated power.....
What's the best sundown sub I could get in 12 in? Not an expert on subs and I've always used Cerwin vega as well as CVR kickers but I want to try some sundowns
Get Zv6 or Nsv5 they are the best. I own a zv5 18" and its rated at 2k rms but will handle over 6k rms daily.
Sundown is quality
Great vid as always pal! Do you do in person tours on the weekend by chance? I live in NC and would like to visit. Also can I buy product if im there?
Word.. I'm like 45 minutes away close to Charlotte.. Would like to drive there and check it out.. Awesome that NC is home to the best car audio and videos..
yes sir @@gregoryjenkins1461I have become a sundown freak! Do they make highs? Have a good one pal!
Full send brah
How much power music can they handle? I have a 1kw soundstream, I'd like to put 2-4 12" on, until I can get a better system.
I wouldn't run more than 2 off that amp. But check out the b stock sundown amps or even skar. Skar makes a lot of power for cheap. But definitely pay attention to wiring and ohm loads. It sucks frying amp.
Got 2 on the yardsale for $90 delivered now just waiting for a box and a radio
Wish you would have cut it open and let us see the voicecoil after that test....just curious to see what it looked like after that 😎
Were can i get that shirt at?
Foam Surround? Not a fan of foam surrounds. I am curious as to why foam is even used anymore when the rubber surrounds last so much better.
hey chief can you make a video showing how you guys putting together a woofer with a motor magnet, frame basket, spider suspension, voice coil connectors, woofer cone dust cap, till is final I would love to see that 🔊🎶
Like "The making" or something?? Sounds good!
@@ruikazane5123 I mean yeah them making the woofer from 0 till is complete :)
there might be some older vids out there of them doing that
@@tmatthews0007 thank you I fond one but is speed up maybe there is more I'll check 😊
What 12 Sundown subs would you recommend for an under the seat install in a 2017 Chevy crew cab? And if 12’s won’t fit the what size?
I think you may be looking for something Sundown doesn't offer but they do have slim woofers. A 12 would not fit under a seat though.
Sundown sd3 series. 5” mounting depth for the 12”. 4.5 for the 10”. You could totally squeeze a 12 under the seat. Plus, the surround is inverted, so you can mount it reeeeeally close to the bottom of the seat and not worry about it rubbing!
If you go with the SD3 10", you would be able to fit at least 3 under the seat. Might fit a pair of 12's if you do a seat lift.
i own that sub lcs-21 it hits pretty hard it shakes my bedroom window lol
Oh wait, you didn't test it like the SA. I wanted to see a bit of torture with about double the wattage! Can they take it?
Good vid. I like that. I do wish it came with push terminals. You're letting your hair grow out, it looks.
Jay Dawg he looks good with more facial hair, and without.
that sub reminds me of my first jl w0....👍👍👍
jay ache holy shit I thought the same thing. Had 2 10w0 back in the day myself.
@@angelvip2474 hahaha..yup..first 2 10 jl w0..
Those lil suckers banged.
@@angelvip2474 hell yea...hella clean too
Don't be fooled! I've had 2 for 2 years now running on a skar 800 1d mono. I've smoked one and don't really keep the wattage regulated. And let me tell you they are beast on a budget. They sound good sealed or ported. Lastly that sub isn't moving to its potential I can promise you that.
The one I smoked is still running I forgot to say that. Still like the day I got them
Scott Smith I’m looking at getting 2 of these for 2011 Camry trunk do they really get it ? How’s the sound quality?
Sound quality is excellent. Just make sure you get the right size amp. The one I'm using is about 400 watts too much so I had to do a lot of tuning. And with your decaf music don't go under 32hz but its 2 twelves you shouldn't be going lower than that anyway. I would suggest sealed box in my ported box they tend to get hot. But I tend to push them over the edge. Judging by your playlist, you will too. Cocaine fever sounds so good... for the price they have been outstanding for me.
One more thing, down4soundshop.com has them for cheaper. And the shipping is so fast they are probably on your doorstep now.
Thanks man I have a skar sk1500v2 I got from down4sound I don’t really care for the tracks below 30 hz anyways. Still trying to decide between these and skar sdr12s. How the volume on these ? Would you say they would keep up volume wise with a couple of ported kicker comp cave?
