      I notice with spacers in the rear suspension you have now dropped the pressure down to 160-165 psi and rebound 4 or 5 clicks. On the Fox website for this pressure they recommend 8 clicks which is significantly different to your 4 to 5 clicks - can you provide further information on your rebound setting? I am setting my new Siskiu T8 and I am very interested in your settings. Great videos by the way.

      @@peterwilliamson1237 Thanks for tuning in. When it comes to rear suspension its very hard for companies like fox to give accurate rebound and compression settings as the leverage ratio among other things change from bike to bike so much as rear suspension designs vary. I found 4 to 5 for my weight worked well.

      Again this is what works for me so might not work for you. I've settled on 167psi atm too, so slightly firmer than in the review

      @@trailtalkmtb6603 Thanks for the response. T8 brand new on Saturday and yet to ride so it's nice to know your settings as I'm only 2 kg heavier but hit the trails less aggressively than you. I haven't got any volume spacers yet but I suppose the process is to first go with factory recommendation and tune from there. I'm very excited with my new bike and looking forward to playing with the suspension while I'm dialling it in - your videos and information a great help.

    Nice breakdown!! Can you please let me know what volume spacers you used for the suspension and are they hard to install? My T8 will be here in about a month and I really want to get the most out of it... I have the D6 currently and love it, but want more! I'm going to ride the T8 stock first for a bit, but I'm thinking those spacers could really help based on your experience. I'm about 205 lbs currently if that matters. Thank you and subbed ;)

  • @eliotcrowe7884
    @eliotcrowe7884 Před 2 lety

    Great review (and I also saw your long term review linked below). I got a T8 last month, and it's so helpful to read this article and your video. $2400US was a bit of a stretch and I'm feeling very reluctant to spend more, but a few tweaks are definitely needed for me:
    - Mine came with Vee Tire Flow Snap 2.6 front & rear. Seems pretty good for front but I switched out the rear for Maxxis Aggressor for lower rolling resistance
    - My XL has the handlebar stacked on top of all the spacers, and I still feel like I've got too much weight forward, so I'm looking to get a bar with more rise
    - I had suspected spacers would help the suspension (front particularly), and you are confirming that one
    Beyond that, I can probably live with all the other minor stuff for now
    Out of interest, how much extra did all of your upgrades cost? (as proportion of the bike's cost)

    I wasnt happy that when my T8 arrived (around 5/01/21) the cool lil cardboard box inside that had all the paperwork and tools etc had been opened and pretty much dumped out inside the big box and the big box had a hole in the bottom from shipping so who knows what was missing.
    More importantly- they had Vee tire co tires on the bike instead of the Schwalbes that they listed. - Those are worth about half as much by the way. -also a paint chip by the emblem on the headtube.
    So I emailed them -only about the tires- asking them to take the vee's back and send me the Schwalbes...
    The bikes online guys try to distance themselves from polygon like it was a different company and took zero responsibility for the manufacturer swap. (polygon is the only bike online bikes sells)
    They said there was a shortage (obviously you can buy as many Schwalbes as you want on Amazon).
    They said I should be glad i didnt have to wait longer for the right tires ( I did wait about 4-5 months).
    Im ok with taking a chance to save money adjusting the bike myself etc, Im not ok with this company not sending me what they advertised and what I paid for.

    Great site mate, your reviews are solid...Any Idea if there will be more of Siskiu T8's available this year?, ready to pull the trigger on my first FS. If they don't make anymore of the T8's, then I might just get the D7 which are in stock. I currently ride a hardtail 2010, F3 Cannondale(old school) with 26" wheels, so anything would be better in the descents. I would get a MED frame, I 'm 5'8" (173cm) tall and a reach of about a 23in(58cm), but can't decide on wheel size. Any advice on the wheel size (27.5 or 29) coming from old 26in ones.

      The main pro for me with the RZ was its 515mm XL reach. Pre-2021 Siskiu T had only a 485mm XL reach, which ruled it out for me, but the new models are now 500mm. I'm 198cm (6ft 6in) tall, so I basically need all the reach I can get, but they're now close enough I'm tempted by the Siskiu.
      In your opinion, do you think someone my height would appreciate that extra 15mm of reach (30mm if I add a 50mm stem), or is it not enough to make a noticable difference (seeing as its not really possible for me to test ride either of them before hand)?

      @angusd9219 Před 3 lety +1

      what bike do you have now? its cheap but if you have an alright hardtail then id recommend getting something like in this video. but also geometary is more important than travel, travel can get you over stuff but geometry is what gives you confidence and the d7 is a cross country/down country bike so it doesn't have the most slack geometry so if want to get really rowdy then the d7 is not the bike. also take into account the type of trails you ride, if they are longer flatter and more hills then the d7 is fine but it you have more steep rough stuff then you're gonna want better geometry then the d7.

      Hey Phil ... Question - why did you add longer stem and riser bar rather than get a XL bike??
      I received my T8 Large after waiting for 3 months last week. I feel a little cramped and can't decide if I return it and size up to XL or stick with the large.
      I visually compared our set up and noticed my seat post looks higher and seat rails is set as far back as possible compared to yours which is in the middle.
      Im coming from a 2015 Whyte G-150 in Large - which was too small for me and I needed a 70ml stem to make it feel somewhat more comfortable ... So confused as to what to do here as I'm not sure if it's just a change in riding position and I need to get used to it or ... I need to get the XL. I don't really want to wait 3 more months before a XL comes back into stock ...
      I'm 183cm with arm span of 193. Buyers size guide shows me towards the top end of size L.
      Appreciate any feedback or suggestions.
