"Whose body is this?"
It's a clone. At least according to other people who play Space Engineers. They even sometimes have a Clone Count to count how many times they died.
thats why everyone looks exactly the same too
Capac?
Shit, i didn't keep track of my clone count, i wish this was a stat 😂
@@MmeHyraelle think there's a mod for that. Check with Splitsie
A little tip: you can put the refinary then the cargo container, then the kit and then the assembler. So you dont need the tube. And between the kit and assember put an H2O2 generator so that if you use the kit that you fill up your hydrogen 😊
Never tell a british civil engineer the tube is unnecessary
My boy here set down directly on top of a cobalt deposit, and has no clue how fortunate he is, lol!
Cobalt is needed for metal grids, which are needed to build cargo containers and both atmospheric thrusters and H2 thrusters.
He also has a silver deposit, which is needed for medical stuff and higher tier tools. That really is a damn good start!
Stone will get him trace amounts of iron, nickel, silicon, and plenty of gravel. Enough to get him operational, and searching for an iron deposit to expedite iron production. That cobalt, man, seriously, a good start. It's not super rare, but rare enough that it can be bothersome when first starting.
We need RCE to do a mini series with Splitsie and Capac I can only imagine the hilarity.
I would agree.
Chaos lmao

Nice to see RCE finally touching SE. I can highly recommend building rovers on a planet, the allmighty Clang doesn't disaprove of this like he did in the old days. Play around a bit with the dampeners on the wheels to improve traction and be prepared for a very sudden death should you go max speed.
Usually adjusting the speed limit for wheels helps either that, I personally like dropping it from 180 to 80 and adjusting wheel power to 50%. Seems to keep most rovers stable
Rover base, best way to begin again.
As someone who seems to enjoy this game. Once I build a death star loaded with enough weapons to drill into a planet etc, what....do I DO with it?
Yea just two things i like coming together

sad time for the youtube peeps who aren't able to do patreon , not seeing the entire series
As a layman with no idea how YT monetization works: I can’t be the only person that would absolutely watch every one of the Satisfactory and Space Engineers videos if they were available on this platform.
Thank you for the content, RCE
My poor bum can't afford a patron so I will always feel empty inside because I won't be able to watch this amazing series 😢😢😢
Get a job
Same
yeah he should post the series on youtube and just let the patreon like get it a week early or two weeks early. i get that he wants to feel like patreon supporters get something but you can't forget that it's because of the youtube viewers that the creator has a career. the patreon supporters do it because they want to support not because they want something out of it.
@nilsboer2390 €5/month can be a lot to some people (unless you're an actual engineer maybe)
same
You should definitely start a second channel to post the patreon videos to and have patreon be like “early access” to the videos. That way you can make everyone happy without affecting your main channel.
I don’t understand why so many people want you to just throw away money by posting videos that wouldn’t do anywhere near as well as your usual videos.
Aww! I really REALLY want to see this series grow, but I totally cannot afford any patreon.
true i dont like that
Same, RCE channel kinda died to me with the transition to Patreon, I can't afford any of that and now this channel is not getting series :/
His Patreon is very affordable.
$67 a month. That’s nuts. Must be nice
0:37 sad news for me
can't believe i lived to see this day, after years people saying it, you finally got the game. XD
finally, the ultimate engineering game, love it !
That would be Factorio, prove me wrong.
@@Seawolf159
Factorio is more focused on setting up proper industry lines instead of contraptions. So it's a logistics game, not an engineering one.
@@MrNote-lz7lh Well Matt was a highway engineer. That sounds more like a logistics engineer then? Or civil engineer. Still engineer.
The *ultimate* space engineering game is *actually* Stationeers.
Waiting for an eternity for this game
This is one of my favorite games, and I am very excited that you're finally playing. I'm sad that it's an exclusive.
Cool thing is that you can also be a CZcams "patron" and still get access to the backlog of videos.
pro tip: you can drill and hold f to put the stone into your inventory (there's also a limit to mow many stone you can have on the floor it's like 64? it's under game options)
I have been spoiled by auto-ore-pickup xD
I'm glad you're posting the first "ep" here on yt and I get continuing to only post the rest of the series on your Patreon. Not something I can contribute to atm sadly. Regardless love your channel and the vids you upload. And also much love to your Editor and Paddy!
Finally, a series I want to watch and it's locked behind a pay wall. At this rate, I might as well just get a Netflix subscription.
Fun Tip: if you still have the seat in the ship you can almost instantly raise your energy by just sitting in it!
Finally! I have been asking for 248 days for RCE to play Space Engineers. 🙂
Edit: Looks like I was right when I said a few years ago that eventually everything was going to be subscription-based. Looks like this is starting to apply to CZcams videos, too. Same is true for some game modpacks.
Also, think of cars, fridges, mattresses, chairs, restaurants, stores, books, clothing, and many more things that are subscription-based nowadays. I remember when VHS tapes were no longer sold in stores. Now, good luck finding Blu-rays at Wal-Mart.
And then you only get 1 episode. Sad times indeed.
sorry what? you have 15 comments on the channel and your recent comment says day 174
I've recommended it for a long time, probably about 2 years? idk how long i've been watching, feels like forever lol.
I'm glad you're giving this a go.
This will show the world what kind of an engineer you really are...
and it's gonna break you and give us Space Engineers a really good laugh!
I'm not gonna watch it on patreon though. So there.
I've been playing Space engineers (SpEngies) since it before it had proper textures, I love this game, please put more on this channel too, sincerely, a fan that loves the game and your content
2:18 Nice to see Schmichael making a cameo in one of your videos!
Some tips:
Push J to toggle your visor so you can conserve oxygen.
Clean up your build planner often otherwise you can end up making parts for things you already made.
You didn't see water when you initially dropped in but an ice deposit, Use ice to make O2 and H2.
Keep an eye on your stats at all times and be conservative of your O2 and H2 in early game if you are not near ice.
Losing a stat sucks and can kill you as well as having other effects:
No health: Your dead
No O2: Your life support fails killing you (Unless your visor is up and you are in place with atmosphere)
No power: Your life support fails and your tools plus flashlight stop working.
No H2: Your jetpack fails
Watch out for Klang, Klang is the term used to refer to the game's janky physics. Jank responsibly or your build might self-destruct when Klang gets angry.
The bar just above your hotbar is your inventory meter.
Spam F while mining to auto grab ore.
You did really well for your first go at the game and I wish you luck as you continue!
Finally some space engineers i thought I'd never thought you'd play this
Finally you're playing space engineers!
I love this game so much because it takes a lot of effort and skill to engineer your spacecrafts
You are still going to post the videos on CZcams right?
It would suck if I would have to pay just to watch you play one of my favorite game
He's not going to post the rest. Patron only unfortunately
@@SniperElitist1 that sucks so much
Like I understand patreon live streams and other patreon exclusive things like Minecraft servers but it is so fucking stupid that he's doing patreon only videos
I cannot believe your drop pod landed right side up and actually clamped to the ground. Almost every single one of mine has flipped horribly upside-down and gone rolling downhill, spinning out of control until it violently explodes. Lucky man you are!
If you are quick you can turn on the hydrogen thruster on bottom just control it with thrust override and have a much softer landing than the parachute can provide alone!
I've got some crazy builds in this game. If you put in the time, and have a few bouts of inspiration, the things you can create are insane. I saw a build where someone turned a bunch of rotors into a cannon that would devastate anything it hit. Quite impressive. Then there's building walking machines, something I've never been able to figure out. I love seeing people discover this game, it's definitely my favorite, it's just too bad I can't spare the coin for a patreon or I would definitely watch the rest of it. When you reach a few hundred hours, and finish a few of the other scenarios, I would seriously recommend you trying the 'never surrender' scenario. With that one, you start and build up as per a normal survival game, but when you build up enough you can go to a location and fight against endless waves of hostile drones. See how long you can last. My record is something like 120 waves.
Space Engineers has been my off and on again favorite game the past 6-some years.
There are prettier games, and there are easier games, but this game lets you do so much, and the developers are some of the best I've seen in gaming since the 1990s. They feel like they're making the game for themselves to play as much as they're making it for us to play. It's the one studio I'm always happy to buy them a coffee each time a new DLC comes out.
I really can't stress how far this game has come, and just how amazing the developers are. They even offered full time jobs to modders, and even work with modders to integrate mods to become part of the vanilla game. Really, haven't seen any other developers with this level of dedication and interaction with the community, and I've been gaming since 1989.
I'm with the crowd here, either post the full series or no episode at all on YT. It won't make me sub to patreon but it will definitely not make me watch the video.
Yea, very dumb of him to post this. Although it’s ridiculous how many people are mad that this is exclusive to patreon. Like why would he post a super long series of videos that won’t do anywhere near as good as his usual videos… Everyone just expecting him to throw away money just to please a small percentage of his audience. 🤦♂️
People don’t seem to understand that this is his job and that he needs to care about his view count.
He should definitely start a second channel to post these series to and have patreon just be like “early access” to the videos. That way he can make everyone happy without affecting his main channel.
No such thing as free entertainment, friend. You wouldn't want Paddy to starve (oh, and Matt), would you?
@@lucash8234 the issue isn't that this series is for Patreon, but the fact that it's not clearly announced until the end of the video that this is for Patreon only. I wouldn't have spent a minute watching this knowing that it's not a complete series. With the amount of views he has, using shady practices to get a few extra view minutes won't make the difference between him having a sandwich or not on the last day of the month..
@@predarekIt's literally the fist thing he talks about. He explains it in the first minute of the video.
@@widgity I was confusing it with the other Patreon only video he did, in this one he indeeds explain it!
I had a good laugh. I wish you would release more of the space engineers series randomly
I feel it's easier to start in space. Put a mining drill on anything that flies. Then build a collection trough with a gravity generator around the miner so it catches resources. Eventually you build a big mining ship that can fit in the hole it drills, then just set it on a low constant thrust forward so it'll keep going on its own through an asteroid. Other useful things to build, welding ship, grinding pit, tug ship and then eventually a mothership.
No YT, no views, simple as that. I don't come here for the advertisement, I'm here for the content
Good morning new space engineer mate, I have a tip for you. To have the best power generating rate with eolians you need to place them 8 blocks away from each others
Man I love space engineers please keep the series for everyone
How have you never played the defacto engineering game?
Think of the strong shapes you can thrust into orbit!
Ah yes space engineers. I've already sunk 600 hrs in and still can't get enough of it especially when u put a goal in mind.
Basic tip. The resources are in specific places, if you fly up into the air you can see grey/black spots under the grass on the ground. Those are your resource points. If you don't have the geo tracker thing yet, if you get close enough to the deposit (however far underground it is) it will show up what type of resource it is, and how far away, like it did for silver. Also, most resources have a couple different ones at different levels next to each other. There is no standing water, just ice, so to get oxygen and hydrogen you have to mine ice, then use your kit to break it down, or the specific buildings for hydrogen and oxygen.
He got really lucky with ore spawns. Like it can take a while to find all the stuff like cobalt and silver.
Good luck with finding gold.
WOOT WOOT. finally the most engineer engineer of all engineers is in space.
Yay! Space engineers! I love this game. Ive sunk many a hour into it. Glad to see RCE give it a try, cant wait to see how he progresses.
EDIT: NVM paywalled content, very disappointed. a shame.
At least you got one video (a long one too!), you wouldn't have without the patreon supporters!
@@RealCivilEngineerGamingtrue but tbh I wish it was early access to videos rather than exclusive ones. Missing out on content just because you don't pay doesn't feel right to me but thats just me.
Welcome to space engineers you have no idea the rabbit hole you just jumped into Matt I hope Patty is up for the challenge.
Do you think after your done with Pay-tree-On you could release it on YT For us poor folk.. 😍
He finally played my favorite game, imo it is the best space sim
E
I really like how matt reacted to seeing huge starting base on world named easy start. Btw multiplayer in this game is really fun, maybe some of that in future?
i played this game with a friend last year. TOTAL pain in the neck to do stuff, but was really fun and in-depth for certain things. for sure a game that feels like more role-playing built into the building and survival aspect
space engineers is probably my favourite game, not sure where you heard the whole steep learning curve thing from, it's one of the easiest and most relaxing games I own to the point I have to mod it to hell and back before it becomes close to a challenge. I'd recommend getting some PvE mods and going down onto the planet with jetpack disabled, I always find that makes the game way more interesting as it forces you to build a tool for whatever you want to do, a way of forcing you to engineer solutions to problems rather than pressing x to solve any issue you may face.
I have a 'rover' I built with a piston elevator because jetpacks when planets released were impossible to use due to a few bugs... I wish I would have recorded that gameplay because it was glorious and hilarious... especially when I removed the bottom piston by grinding....
But that rover/elevator was the absolute best tool I ever made in SE.
The learning curve mostly comes from the sheer amount of buttons and functions and overlapping control schemes, but the horribly designed gui doesn't help either.
@@XeroCreator that kinda nonsense is exactly what I'm talking about, you can:
A) build something to lift your rover off the ground to work on the bottom
B) press x, press e and fly straight under
I know which sounds like more engaging gameplay to me
The initial learning curve is quite steep but once you're familiar, as you appear to be, it does become trivial. For a first time around, playing vanilla is the way to go. Besides, what makes for a fun single player experience does not directly translate to a fun video experience - unless you really want to punish the editors...
@BarryTGash I'll admit that there is a learning curve now... not that steep, actually even easier thanks to all the info the game gives you....
But honestly it's been one of the games that helped me understand that other games are extremely basic... like star citizen, within a week i was learning advanced flight and how to outfit ships... when planets first released... I was among the first to make a piston drill because it seemed like a fun thing...
That hole of uranium took forever to mine... but it was worth it!
Oh nice, you scored Cobalt right away. Can't tell you how many times I had to go off and hunt that stuff down lol
Hope you bring back the series. Just dumped like 400 hours into the game over the last half year or so and really enjoy it especially once your mind grapples how the systems work
i wish i could see the rest of the series

That's not true at all. Matt has hundreds of videos to watch, and he uploads **every day**.
I have been playing this game for about 3/4 years now…. Watching you play was so painful but so many memories of how bad I was once. Keep playing I think you will love this game. Holy damn I’ve been waiting for you to play this for so long.
Finally a game that I've played so many times, finally getting mentioned, yay!
This game is way better with mods. In order to play with them, though, you have to enable experimental mode. Here's a few suggestions I personally love:
Automatic Doors & Airlocks [TaikoDragon]
-Automatically shuts doors and airlocks after a specifiable period of time
PowerShare [Sherbert & Arkolis]
-Allows you to share your primary base's power with nearby drones
Extreme Lights (Now with Corner Lights) [[LP] Shadow]
-Lights with super high range, makes it easier to light up large areas
Steam Power Systems [Clockwork168]
-Various power generation systems for when you're planetside to compliment existing systems
Smooth Voxels [avaness]
-Your preference, I think it makes landscapes look nicer
Moisture Vaporator [Stollie, SlowpokeFarm, & Anarch Cassius]
Slowly but constantly produces ice on planets with atmospheres. Good for early renewable H2 and O2
Modular Encounter Systems [AutoMcDonough, Meridius_IX / Lucas, Whiplash141, & CaptainArthur]
-It and it's plugins add a variety of enemy bases, ships, abandoned settlements, and other NPC encounters to the game
Build Vision 3.0 [Dark Helmet]
-A sort of context menu you can use to quickly configure blocks without having to find a console.
Nanobot Build and Repair System [Dummy08]
-Acts as an auto-repair system, helpful to have at your base for repairing your vehicles when you get back from exploring or combat
Also, the coding stuff's pretty cool and easy to learn. I made an elevator using a PID controller after only a few minutes of reading on it. Might be worth looking into if the AI blocks don't do what you need.
im loving it .
Please try infra underground.
As engineers, It's important to remember that it's not upside down, but rather that side that.
Does This Apply to “to the core” too or will it still be uploaded to CZcams.
I can't believe you've never done space engineers before
