  • Lux Radio Theater did this Movie for your MIND more than once. This one features Robert Montgomery (Montgomery produced most of the Suspense One Hour episodes, all on this channel) and Co-stars Ida Lupino. The audio has been restored from an "itchy & scratchy" record, and it now sounds much better than older uploads elsewhere.
✓√✓✓√√✓√✓ Some STUFF-N-SUCH: If you like this story, there's a very good version of "The 39 Steps" from SUSPENSE which stars one of Hitchcock's pals Sir HERBERT MARSHALL. The Suspense episode is in my Herbert Marshall playlist on this channel, and it's one of my personal favorites
(I probably have two or three hundred "personal favorites")
✓√✓√✓√✓√ Additional STUFF-N-SUCH: This version is listed to have been originally aired on December 13th of 1937 which I believe to be correct, but there seems to be a bit of uncertainty about some of the Lux airdates. I can't disagree or agree, because I was born WAY too late to remember ANY original Lux Radio Theater broadcasts!
    • Pretty much every Lux episode is public domain. • Another program that has been " Uploaded with Care " by me,
Charlie Stuckey. I'm the creator, proprietor, writer, commentator, art director, channel master, janitor, custodian, and head fry cook . . . Plus I'm your host of this channel. •

Thank you so much for this from a finicky insomniac. Well made programs from the olden days make transportation to those worlds so much better. Better way to end the day.

I have watched various interpretations of this, one of my favourite all time motion pictures. My favourite version has Robert Powell as Hannay.

Good evening Mr Stuckey. I’ve noticed there are usually a few “thumbs-down” on your videos. I can’t for the life of me figure out why anyone would do that! Wouldn’t it be great if people had to write their reasoning for giving a thumbs down? Anyway, thanks for the uploads. Clicking subscribe now...

You got me! How can anyone dislike a 75 year old recording? There's no modern programs like this to compare! Still, my uploads have over 97% thumbs up - It appears that there can be a few ignorant people in any group, I guess. Thanks for subscribing, and I always appreciate comments - Charlie

+Joshua Cockerline BTW: You'll notice many of my uploads have just ONE thumbs down. A guy got upset and told me he'd go thru all of my uploads and hit "dislike." . . . Talk about not having a life! Again, my thanks for your comments - Charlie

I’ve said the same thing on many videos that had no reasoning for thumbs down on them. My conclusions come to thinking there might be a job offer for people who can sit on CZcams all day just disliking video after video after video. Probably not even watching them too.

Thanks for the upload, Mr. Stuckey! A gentle correction, however-- Hitchcock only made "The 39 Steps" once, in 1935. Perhaps you're thinking of "The Man Who Knew Too Much," which he did shoot twice (in 1934 and 1956). There have been at least four filmed versions of "The 39 Steps"-- including one in 1959 that's a near carbon copy of Hitchcock's version-- but only one by Hitch himself.
