  • This stars Hollywood's ladies man Herbert Marshall . . This audio adaptation is pretty good, 'cause it's based more closely to the book. The sound quality is near perfect, too. 1953

What an amazing show this was! This is now my sixth night in a row listening to these old radio broadcasts. The previous five nights I've listened to a half hour episode of Suspense, and I am absolutely loving it. It's a wonderful thing to listen to the beautiful voice of Herbert Marshall before going to sleep...Thank you for uploading these fantastic old radio shows, as well as for such high quality sound.

ASTONISHING audio quality for a vintage radio broadcast. I've rarely heard anything that came as close.

Listening to it at midnight in a room with tall windows was terrifying. Very good radio adaptation, it was much scarier than the movie. They focused everything at survival and suspense.

WOW!!! I knew Alfred Hitchcock directed THE BIRDS but I didn't know Daphne DuMaurier wrote it. ! WOW.
And an even bigger surprise.... that song Louis Armstrong was singing, on the American radio station? Mocking Bird? I heard a parody of that song ...on The Flintsone's!
🎼 **Listen to the ROCKIN' BIRD. YEAH ! Listen to the nutty, nutty bird. He's flipped!"* 🎶

This is made long before the Hitchcock movie and is set in England as in Daphne DuMaurier's version, rather than in California like the Hitchcock film. So while it is quite good, it has NO connection with the Hitchcock movie in any way!!!!
