Great Discussion guys, always good when we can set down and have respectable dialog and discussions, with sound doctrine, beliefs and practices. Even if we don't always agree on all topics. We should be able to sit down reasonably and reason with topics of issues that affect us all on some level or another. You both make some very good points.. This is good! l can say l agree with you both, not on all, but much presented from different perspectives of the same stance.. We need more of these dialogs of this magnitude. Thanks Corey for what you do bringing the topics to your platform.. Great Content! Keep up The Good Work! Appreciated!😊

I have respect for both of these brothers in Christ. The highlights for me include the respectful dialogue which demonstrated true godly character on both sides and Corey's willingness to apologize and take down the video regarding Isaiah Saldavar. When it comes to this topic, I am in between them two, believing that casting out demons is possible but that most folks abuse this and fake it. I hold my position on charismatic matters loosely because although many people fake it, to say that healing and deliverance from demons don't happen anymore is to restrict God's sovereignty.

Is it possible for a believer to demon possessed?
Bible is clear a believer cannot have demon
Only empty heart or a person without Holy Spirit can be possessed by demons
If a person does not have Holy Spirit he is not saved to begin with
Holy Spirit can be only attained by faith alone in the finished work of Christ
It’s not received by human works of waiting and fasting
Once a believer is sealed by the Holy Spirit, he is sealed until the day of redemption Which means Holy Spirit does not leave a believer no matter whatsoever
And bible is clear Baal and Christ cannot co-exist under the same roof

I appreciate this. I remember about 15 years ago, I was trying to”find” God. I was recently married, and we had a little baby. I moved 2,000 miles away from my home to Indiana thinking I was relocating to a whole new life, with my husband who grew up in a religious home and went to a Lutheran school k-12 grade. I believe my husband has believed in Christ since he was small. He read the entire Bible on his own from the time he could read. The Holy Spirit had been working on him since he was a little boy, as he can’t remember a time that he didn’t have love and true reverence for the Lord in his life. For me it was a much different story, I grew up with a new age, single mom, who hated Christianity and it was seared in my mind a very twisted idea of who Christ is and who his followers are.
Now we moved to an extremely conservative town and the church we belonged to wasn’t a very sound, or biblical. It kind of reminded me of the Church of Sardis in the Book of Revelation. It was a spiritually dead church. Christ had left the building long before we got there, and it showed in its members. It was more like a church of man’s tradition, than it was a church of Christ. It showed in its members, as it appeared as though they cared more about going to church bc their family had been going there since the 4-5 generations. Not to go to that denomination would be considered the same as damnation and familial divorce, and to be shunned by the community. Now, they didn’t talk about sin, or repentance, they didn’t talk about needing to be born again, in fact, they joked about the believer who claims they are born again and the joy they experience coming out of disbelief and darkness. They did infant baptism, and believed that’s how one is saved.
As someone who desperately wanted to have faith and come out of unbelief, I remember praying and crying and begging God to take my doubt away bc I couldn’t believe. I was walking around pretending like I believed and had faith like everyone else, but I didn’t. And there’s no way I was going to admit to anyone else that something was seriously off and missing and wrong.
Fast forward 15 years later, I up having seizures and health issues. I was having horrific nightmares and it literally felt like I was possessed or dealing with some demonic spirits. It was when I cried out to the Lord and begged Him for help bc none of the medications were working for the seizures. I was diagnosed with MS.
One night I was watching a John McArthur sermon that popped up on my feed, and I looked at my husband and said “I’m a sinner! That’s why I need Christ! I’m a wicked sinner!” And I instantly had true faith and truly believed! I had been born again right then. At least that’s what my perception of how I came to faith and what it means to believe. It was like I was blind and then all the sudden I believed.
BTW: I haven’t had a seizure since that day.

Yes, but repentance is two things. Confessing is just one of them, the other thing we have to do as Christians is to turn from our sin. When we want to sin or do something evil, we can turn around and do the right thing.

The *inconsistencies* started popping up VERY early on. I used to follow Pagani and the demon slayer crew (Vlad, Isaiah, Mike) quite religiously, and I remember VERY SPECIFICALLY what story Pagani told when it comes to the event that changed his mind about the deliverance ministry. He had allegedly been radically delivered himself, PERSONALLY (which is what he claimed convinced him), in a church meeting, alleging that he felt a crazy rage, that he started manifesting like crazy, and heard a voice telling him to let it keep manifesting & stuff (some details I can't recall). It was a *GRANDIOSE* story where another person came and was propelled in the air by the power of God, allegedly, and gave up a bag of weed after that event. That's what he said on a stream with the demon slayer crew.
And here, NOT A PEEP, but struggling for 10yrs over 2 verses over the Bible...
Also, he said he got saved in 1992, RADICALLY delivered from weed, pornography, etc. But on his channel, he has a testimony within a whole sermon where he said that he was addicted to pornography as a PASTOR.
I'm not going to impune the guy's motives, but there's most definitely inconsistency and dishonesty being evidently showcased here. It's a real shame, but that's not at all on brother Corey.

    • @jenn5773
      @jenn5773 Před 2 lety +16

I noticed the inconsistencies too!! You can tell there is something going on here. I wouldn't want him doing spiritual surgery on me!! It seems like alot of the people going to his church are young immature people who just got saved or they don't know Christ at all. And they just don't even know if what Pagani is saying is true or not and they just follow him blindly.
This guy seems very prideful and the way he talks about "I just cast em out" like he's this tough guy!! He's NOT teaching sound Bible doctrine and he thinks he is! And they ALWAYS say look at the fruit look at the fruit. And then he says he comes against other deliverance ministers and then if they don't listen he BACKS OFF!! And WHY Sir are you going to just back off. Why would you NOT call them out for capitalizing on Our Savior!?? I am sorry I don't understand

    • @CRoadwarrior
      @CRoadwarrior Před 2 lety +15

@Dave S. D. I didn't notice inconsistencies, but I do remember hearing him talk about the EXPERIENCE (not Scripture) that changed his mind. In just about every instance I've heard, it's always experiences (not Scripture) that leads people into this doctrine. That's a serious problem that people like Pagani ignore while doing "deliverance" on Christians, when nowhere in the Bible are we taught to do such a thing. So they are left with nothing but experiences, and then they try to mold the Bible around their experiences, which is a form of adding to the word of God, which is very dangerous (Proverbs 30:6).
So something is indeed very wrong...but the blind cannot see, and the blind are leading the blind into a ditch.

There absolutely were inconsistencies. On a recent video of Isiah being a guest speaker Pagani commented regarding someone asking about David Diga Hernandez(Encounter TV). This was Pagani’s words and I quote “nope! Encounter TV has strayed away from deliverance! I would encourage no one to watch that channel!”
So wait.. just because David stepped away from hyper focusing on deliverance ministry how they do it, he is telling others he’s strayed? Like he’s strayed away from the word of God?
Why say something like that when David said in a recent video back to the basics. It’s about the simple gospel. He’s pointing people to Jesus, but here Pagani is against him encouraging people not to watch him. So is he not a brother? Here he is though, Corey addressing him as a brother. Corey addressing him cordially, in respect. Even though Corey said he still believes what he does, and Alex believes what he does at the end of the video.
So even with this example, why would you tell people not to watch Encounter TV? How is Corey any different from Diga, since he said still believes what he does. Isn’t this double standards and hypocrisy?
If I’m completely wrong, can someone correct me? I’m not above correction as some of these folks act like.
God bless everyone, and Jesus is enough!

Both men had subscribers come to the chats with their minds made up and constantly taking both parties out of context. Listening is crucial. For example, Pagani said multiple times in this live and on his channel that Christians cannot be demon possessed but yet y’all continually kept calling him a heretic in the comments because of something he clearly said he does not believe in. As the church we have to learn to listen. Corey doesn’t necessarily agree with his ministry but he learned to listen. You’ll be surprised what you learn when you come to into a conversation with humility versus defensiveness, especially over someone you barely know. Ears already plugged from the beginning and not trying to understand anyone’s point of view. The comment section reflected that and while it wasn’t surprising, it was disappointing to see.

Getting saved is one thing, but you have to put time and mental focus and intent into the relationship. If your not in The Word daily, in prayer daily, in ALL THINGS consulting God you can very easily get influenced by demons. Demons exist. Satan exists. I think people needing the extreme deliverance also probably were not putting in the effort to the relationship with God.
If Pastor Pagani brings relief and a reset to people who fell astray. Do it. But immediately give thanks, and get back on track,
Every vice out there is from Satan. So if you can view it as what it was intended for which is to destroy then it’s much easier to stay away from.
I personally am unsure about the deliverance ministry as a whole, but I also am not from that.
I pray that these Pastors protect themselves dealing with that realm which I don’t understand being human.
    It’s definitely a gift.

Compassion moved him to a secondary topic. That stood out to me. It's not that the primary did not work. It was Compassion for the straying fold the ones who have not completely depended on Jesus. Also I see that there is a division there. It was a conversation on two different understanding. Corey believes once saved im sure Pagani does. But we are hindered sometimes by worldly thing or motives that we do not let go till it has taken ahold that does not mean Jesus isn't with us it means we have forfeited worldy things. We are saints that sometimes sin and when we hold on to a specific sin it can do a mental gymnastic to our mind. So let the mind of christ be in you. You are saved, you are a Saint a royal priesthood washed and sanctified by the blood of Jesus. Deliverance is what Corey believes and knows Jesus to have done. And deliverance Pagani believes God is still doing. Am I wrong?

I am ok with casting demons out of someone in a context of salvation according to the scriptures: of a unbeliever while the full message of the Gosple is clearly preached. we don't cast out stuff for fun, it is a deadly serious topic, you can have the demons out and still go to hell if you die in your sins.

Not trying to demean Pagani but... after reading Mark 9, he was way off. It doesn't say that it took an hour for the child (this is the only demon possession shown in this chapter) to be delivered. The reason the apostles couldn't deliver the demon is because, according to Jesus, they didn't have enough faith.
Jesus literally said, “You deaf and mute spirit. I command you, come out of him and never enter him again.” and the demon left instantly. And Jesus proceeds to say that this kind of demon ONLY COMES OUT BY PRAYER.

The best way to prove deliverance ministry is by experience. Some people believe by faith, but others have to experience it first hand. Once someone prays for you or a loved one and a demon manifest, you automatically become a believer. I've gone through deliverance many times as well as cast out demons. I understand it's new to a lot people but it's been around since the Bible. These signs shall follow those who believe. God bless.

Bro Corey, obviously neither i nor any of your other viewers were privy to the private pre-interview conversation you two had, but i did wonder why you never asked him about the *rank* eisegesis by which he encouraged those he was teaching in at least one recorded instance to become spiritual "zoologists." This is at least one highly extra-Biblical practice that his deliverance ministry has rightly earned some shade for. I was working during the Live, or i might have asked him in the chat.
It was very pleasant, encouraging, and instructive to see you two chop it up and disagree honorably while still firmly affirming the essentials of our faith, and stating fervently and clearly enough (in a short time) each of your soteriologies. The fact that Pagani went out of his way to clarify his statement on osas was noteworthy, considering it was to an audience that was probably more comfortable with what he seemed to affirm before his clarification. He also showed his seminary credentials clearly enough that they could be screenshotted or people could go investigate for themselves the legitimacy of where he was educated (Steve Kozar, for one, has demonstrated how to do this well).
At the same time, another commenter mentioned inconsistencies between origin stories he told here and those he told in other recorded instances regarding his own conversion experience and his entrance into deliverance ministry. If what this commenter is saying is true (which is reasonably easy to investigate, provided said videos are still available), i would say this is highly suspect. There have been several other teachers with very bad doctrine that have shown this same inconsistency when retelling their come-up. Also, his explanation of how little of a friendship he had with MR...frankly, sounded like he was encouraging him to clean up his verbiage and sound more Biblical so that he wouldn't have such a hard time passing people's theological smell tests. To say it another way, from his own explanation, it sounded more like PR advice than truth pursuit.
Still and all, how he *presented* himself was very straightforward. Cross-examination of his statements might still be worthwhile...but at the end of the day you still had this conversation with him in a much more manly way than i know how to. I pray that God would give me courage to Love people (Brothers or otherwise) more directly - whether it's comfortable or not - and to stand up for the Truth to the point of insult or injury when necessary.

Much thanks! I’m really trying to understand the movement at a distance. For two reasons,
    1. Pagani came to our sister church in Alaska and they ended up having a divisive split afterwards, it was messy.
    2. The pastor who invited him, labeled myself as demonized when quite frankly I don’t think I am as a believing Christian.
I want to see where they are coming from and why it is they interpret scripture in the way they do.
Also, It seems kind of lopsided to me.
At one end, Pagani and Saldiver say something like, “If you oppose Deliverance ministry that means you oppose Christ.“
And frame other Christian’s as the “bad guy” for expressing caution.
Then they go on shows that are critical, in a spirit of love, and (with a smile on their face) say, “We’re just brothers who disagree!”
It seems kinda inconsistent. If Critical/ Cautious Christians are indeed Brothers… then why did you condemn them on your CZcams Channels? If they are in opposition to Christ, where is your boldness to rebuke and stand firm against those criticisms.
From the side it seems like they aren’t living what they preach and they aren’t practicing how they truly think of other Christians.
The same goes for the other side of the fence! Where is the rebuke of unscriptural understandings, I hear it all the time, “My experience with the demonic trumps scripture.” Now they won’t blatantly say that, but in passing, and in practice, this is what the movement has a habit of doing. This is why they depend on varying methodologies to their deliverances, because what is clearly written as a guide isn’t sufficient.
Seems off: Either there is a healthy medium that we aren’t being open about in our interpretation of Reality. OR these polarized extremes aren’t as distant as they frame themselves in their Channels.

The word of God is the authority as opposed to experience or what we think might be. Paul didn't tell the Corinthians who were suffering from pride, divisions, sexual immorality they had demons that needed to be cast out. To make this conclusion is absolutely extra-biblical and no matter how persuasive it may sound we need to be grounded on the word. Paul taught Timothy to teach and preach the doctrine of Christ and to teach it to other men (2nd Tim 2:2). Nothing about deliverance. Would be sad if we needed that understanding and never got it from scripture.

      I am trying to say
In Christ a believer is complete
He lack nothing for the rapture
I am as ready to be rapture or death
And a believer can challenge the death
“Ohh death where is your sting”
Because a believer has the clothing of Christ righteousness which can be only attained by faith alone and not by works

    🔥Luke 11:14,24-26🔥
14 And he was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was gone out, the dumb spake; and the people wondered.
24 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.
25 And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished.
26 Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.

if a temple of God still needs something other than the power of the Holy spirit (holiness at the consciense level) to overcome a sin, what is the point of the Holy spirit. I thought that was why He came, otherwise ""What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death??"". Hopefully we who knew God would agree with Paul"" Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!","If God is for us,(BP) who can be against us?. Those who are blaming demons for their sins just need to repent and hear the real Gosple. If you were trully born again, God grace is sufficient for you no matter what the sin is. stop following Adam and Eve for shifting blames and repent!

    1. You know if it's a demonic-related hindrance if the Holy Spirit reveals it to be so, whether by prayer, discernment, a word of knowledge, or otherwise.
    2. What does it matter, if, by prayer, renewal of the mind, and good, sensible or Biblical habits someone is set free from sin, oppression, or possession, or whether they are free through the equally Scriptural method of spiritual deliverance (i.e., casting out of demons)? Regardless, it is the same Holy Spirit Who does both. For some: instant healings are given; and to others, a more gradual healing process--but it is the resurrection power of Christ all the same, or at the natural level, our Creator's design of the human body (for those who would argue against supernatural healings). Did not God enable the healing all the same?
    3. Even a believer who does not have the baptism of the Holy Spirit can cast out demons. It is for those who believe in the Name above all names--yes, the authority of Christ--who have power to do such. So in neither case is it accomplished by a believer who is baptized by the Holy Spirit or a believer who is born again--it is by the authority of Christ, all the same. (Whether by mention of His Name or as a believer exercising faith in the power accorded to them by faith in that name as a believer).
    4. And I have more to say on the matter--and I understand the proclivity for some to deny the power of the Holy Spirit to do miracles through Christ's Body on earth today--but if we can receive forgiveness of sins and a reborn spirit (salvation) today... how hard is it for God to effect the same miracles today, even the resurrection of the dead, the healing of the sick, or the casting out of evil spirits? It seems to me that both salvation and the other miracles are just as valid today, as when the church was initially established. And I do not see anywhere in Scripture where that capability was invalidated or only enjoyed by the first generation of believers. 5. Brother Corey, I really like and appreciate your channel. It took a measure of humility to cast off arrogance and apologize for heavy-handedness after calling another Christian brother a witchdoctor--and for casting out of demons, at that. Reminds me of when Jesus was essentially accused of the same. This is part of the function of the Body of Christ: to be accountable to and submit ourselves one to another in Christ, to bear one another's burdens, and to be doers of the Word, and not just hearers. Be blessed in Him in the knowledge of and power of His resurrection!

As a Christian we don’t get the devil out we resist him and he will flee. On top of those that are Gods children the evil one doesn’t touch us. A Christian cannot have a demon. It’s your flesh that you need to put into submission. Jesus gave us the ability to overcome our desires and sinful nature.

I appreciate what you did during this conversation brother Corey, but Mr Pagani, when pressed reverted to a default position of “we are saying the same things just said differently”. He stated that he doesn’t make it a practice to know the types of demons he is casting out, then said he does it sometimes and then has a video stating that God has called us to be spiritual zoologist:
    zo·ol·o·gist
    /zōˈäləjəst/
    Learn to pronounce
    noun
an expert in or student of the behavior, physiology, classification, and distribution of animals.
Classification being the operative word. If he isn’t as focused on the deliverance side, then why make it into a science?
I asked a question that was relevant that wasn’t touched upon; how can someone teach someone else to speak in tongues? I feel that that was a fair question seeing as that is one thing that Pagani teaches.

Exactly brother, I haven't gotten through the entire stream yet, but the *inconsistencies* started popping up VERY early on. I used to follow Pagani and the demon slayer crew quite religiously, and I remember VERY SPECIFICALLY what story Pagani told when it comes to the event that changed his mind about the deliverance ministry. He had allegedly been radically delivered himself in a church meeting, alleging that he felt a crazy rage, that he started manifesting like crazy, and heard a voice telling him to let it keep manifesting & stuff. It was a GRANDIOSE story where another person came and was propelled in the air by the power of God, allegedly, and gave up a bag of weed after that event. That's what he said on a stream with the demon slayer crew.
And here, NOT A PEEP, but struggling for 10yrs over 2 verses over the Bible.
Also, he said he got saved in 1992, RADICALLY delivered from weed, pornography, etc. But on his channel, he has a testimony within a whole sermon where he said that he was addicted to pornography as a PASTOR.
      And I'm only 57mins in...
I'm not going to impune the guy's motives, but there's most definitely inconsistency and dishonesty being evidently showcased here. It's a real shame.
I've listened to a lot of Pagani, and he's well-versed enough in the Scripture to win over those who do not study the Scriptures and are not theologically-grounded.

    • @daves.d.6326
      @daves.d.6326 Před 2 lety +2

On Isaiah, having followed him a lot as well before, one thing I can say for sure is that he seems very sincere, he's very consistent as well, his theology is objectively off, but he's sincere.
Pagani man, I don't want to outright say that he's intentionally deceiving people, but his words and actions do seem to heavily point towards that conclusion if you scrutinize him minutely.

@@daves.d.6326 pagani I as clearly bothered by the chat and took to calling those who disagreed “immature Christian’s”. That makes the same tactic Marcus Rogers does when you criticize his exegesis; “the Pharisees are coming” or “gummy bear Christians.” It’s a passive aggressive way of dismissing anyone who may have a valid qualm with his mishandling of scripture.

@@smartchristians it’s all good brother Corey, I understand and I don’t mean to come off as being entitled or selfish, but it really just irks me how, yes although he maybe a brother in Christ because he acknowledges core tenants and teachings of Christianity, he evaded some questions that I know he would have had a hard time answering because there is clearly one answer that can explain his motives.there are things that are off about him, “freely I have received and freely I give, but I had to pay for my education”, so he charges to teach deliverance and speak in tongues? He stated that pastors should be teaching this in the churches and if they did, clearly it would be frowned upon if they put a price tag on it,…so at this point it just sounds like supply and demand.

I was only able to watch a little bit. I don’t know how he doesn’t have a headache he talked nonstop for about 10 mins. When do you silence yourself for the sake of hearing from the Holy Spirit? Mr. Pagani doesn’t appear to be doctrinally sound. Some good points. Repeatedly saying that Corey name called and that they just don’t agree is odd. No, your argument is not biblical; it’s not even a matter of disagreement. Calling someone a witch doctor because they are essentially using witch doctor practices seems like a good judge of character. Peace within the body of Christ is a blessing but rightfully dividing the word is a necessity. It was nice to see Corey apologize where he felt he should. I don’t think Corey is harsh by making his statements about the others. He’s assessing what he sees. I think it important to be sound & clear. God Bless you all.
