I think we ALL knew that Spamton would shrug off Snowgrave and revenge kill like that.
Apparently spamton neo can also tank two snowgraves too.
Kinda sad it's damage is really just stat based. I know it wasn't meant to be used outside of cutscene trigger but considering it does get its own finisher animation on enemies you'd think it would do something like set the damage it inflicts to the enemies' hp so it's an instant kill

Snowgrave looks like Ultima spells or Djins in Final Fantasy, probably its more of a giant AOE attack than a finisher. Theres an item that requires the Thorn ring to be made. So probably we will get Noelle again(Or is this a special item Locked to aborted snowgrave, and it would be weird).
So probably you cant solve all your battles with snowgrave.

Toby seeing somebody abandon the snowgrave route at the last second: nononononono SO much no * deletes Noelle *
If you abort the route at any time before Berdley, you can hear a sound (like a notification?) at the end of the said battle (any, even the Berdley one) that lets you know that the route is now neutral and not "genocide" any longer.
That sigh of relief she does by the end of the battle makes more sense now.
Fun Fact:In the SnowGrave route The King says "You _left them behind_ didn't you?" but if you don't recruit everyone in the normal route, he will say the same thing.

Just wanted to confirm that this is NOT correct, and that you don't need to hack the game too use it: after the non-lethal encounter with Berdly, if you backtrack until you reach the room with the cheese maze and interact with it, you can fight the 3 enemies, and for that specific encounter, Noelle CAN use Snowgrave and ACTUALLY kill those enemies, with an unique death animation.
-probably my fault, i used a save file that was likely made in a older version of the game, so that's why i got this event even in the latest version.-
-Still, this is how it was possible to get it early on.-
Edit n°2: Alright, i understand how this works: Snowgrave CAN be used in that encounter ONLY if Berdly was defeated with violence, not spared.

There used to have a glitch that after aborting the snowgrave route during berley's fight. After the fight, backtrack to the cheese maze room, and it'l be there unlike now days.
Using snowgrave on the enemies, instead of running away or being frozen, they'll disolve into ash (kinda similar like undertale)
Looks like bloody mist more than ash to me.

Fun fact, if you use snowgrave on normal enemies, it doesn't make them frozen or run away, it turns them red and they fade away, implying that this is the first skill in deltarune that is actually able to kill
We can use snowgraves on mices if we didn't trigger cheese before berdly fight
I mean even freezing with Snowgrave is fatal so you don't need to do all that to realize it will kill the target, but good observation still
I really wonder about continuity now, there was nothing after the genocide route in UT gameplay-wise, save for the wink ending. In DT we now have 5 chapters that must take into account what happened in C2, right? Toby might've created a LOT of work for himself by creating truly diverting routes that must now span the entire rest of the game that reflect both the severe change in personality in noelle and berdly being apparently fucking dead. Would Toby make the path and choices taken in C2 moot instead? So many questions.
Given the end of chapter 2 it's pretty likely atm any decisions from chapter 2 if it does effect the story to diverting paths we probably won't see until chapter 4 possibly even 5. Just what I think at least, seeing how chapter 3 is being set up to where you'll immediately be placed into the dark world created in your house and more than likely spend the whole chapter there not having to face any repercussions like berdly until chap 4 at the earliest (also imo unlikely Noelle and berdly are meant to be in chap 3 dark world too since of it's only the surrounding area the lighteners brought in besides Kris and Susie are gonna be Toriel and Undyne since she's outside the house if the phone call is anything to go by)
Noelle didn't die it was just Berdly that died in the snow grave route.

A theory I saw is that berdly isn't dead but actually paralyzed. Because if berdly gets his arm blown off in the dark world it actually was still there in the normal world he just couldn't move it.
Edit: yup I was wrong his arm just gets fried. I only saw a glimpse of what happens so oops.

I haven't seen that theory anywhere but it's something I thought actually, or rather than he's not dead but rather in a coma. either way it has the same general implication that he's not actually dead. it makes me wonder too if the story is going to eventually bottle neck us into a finale that deals with the obvious thing that the soul, i.e player, and Kris are not one in the same and if there's continuity or a continuing of a snowgrave esque route in other chapters it'll still lead to the same end point of Kris and the Player and whatever happening with that since that's the obvious main conflict and whatever happening to the other members of the town just being a side thing that effects their specific endings and their overall state at the credits. Toby officially said as well when chapter 1 came out that there was only going to be one ending to the game, feels like that's not something he'd budge on since he's been working on deltarune technically before Undertale even came out

But.. you need to act to spare. Which means you would have to change the code of the acts to actually increase spamtons satisfaction level. Or add acts which would increase his satisfaction. His satisfaction level being his mercying level, aka the thing that goes a certain percentage up in most ACTs. So, not that easy.
@@nuttynutsnutstache I'm pretty sure it would be easier to hack the spare meter to 100% and try to spare instead of hacking in an act skill. The former is more practical while the latter would straight up be a mod for the game.

Heâs doesnât die. Heâs locked to 6% and you have to call out for help to end the fight.

his HP will always stay at 6% no matter how much damage you do
(and it will surely crash if you somehow beaten him without calling helps)

I did the same thing, and noticed something different. You can backtrack and the cheese maze is there. Touch it, then Noelle can use Snowgrave on the 3 maus that attack. They just disappear in a red effect, no freezing this time.
Also, did you notice how the "snowgrave aborted" jingle plays right as Berdly hits 0 hp, and Noelle looks relieved at the end of the battle? I fought Berdly again, told Noelle to use Snowgrave 4 times, but spared Berdly by staring at him instead. There is no jingle at the end of the battle, and Noelle has the freezering effect around her when the fight ends, instead of looking relieved.
After the usual pacifist route dialogue, Noelle has additional dialogue. (Proceed? You were only trying to scare Berdly, right? Whatever that was, it seems like they snapped out of it... What were we thinking? etc.)
The jingle only plays after the dialogue.
Noelle doesn't have Snowgrave in her magic list anymore if you do this.
I wonder if this is intended, as Noelle's attitude toward Kris changes after the Snowgrave route. Maybe Sparing Berdly is the way to get the Thorn ring/making Noelle stronger, without having her being suspicious of Kris later on?

The only reason why there aren't any frozen citizens is simple. They cleaned these frozen statues.
In earlier versions of chapter 2, the enemies weren't gone, so you could go back and snowgrave random enemies
If you abort the run during the Berdly fight, you can still snowgrave the maus enemy if you touch a piece of cheese (that is, if you haven't destroyed that)

You get this really bizarre tone change where the game slams back into the original story if you donât kill berdley. Legit felt like a glitch
Fun fact: we've technically never seen normal spamton get killed. Only Neo has.
Guys⊠I think I might of cracked the code.
So my theory is that each chapters secret boss represents one of the seven souls from undertale.
So deltarune chapter 1 represents the normal soul or the red one.
And deltarune chapter 2 represents the shooting soul or the yellow soul.
Since there is seven souls from undertale and seven chapters that will be added in deltarune I believe there will be a link between them.
So we can expect having the spider lines purple hart thingy in a fight with some parts of spider dance in the music in that battle.
We can also expect that we will have a blue hart fight with parts of ether bone trusle or megalovania in the battle music.
And we will most definitely have a green hart fight with parts of ether spear of justices or battle against a true hero in the music.
I am guessing we will have a fight with the light blue to but the thing about that is in undertale itâs not your hart that becomes light blue but the atkâs of the attacker so maybe a fight with someone that can use light blue attacks, The music I am unsure about since a lot of ppl can use it.
And the same goes for orange attacks orange is also not a hart thingy but a attack thingy and I am also unsure about any music part since a lot of ppl (or monsters I guess is a better term) can use the orange thingy.

Alternatively, at least on the Switch version, you can walk back to the Cheese Maze which should now have Cheese spawned unlike during the Weird/SG Route's maps.
You can fight and kill the mice with Snowgrave, see it naturally, AND MAKE NOELLE STRONGER
