Glorious. ❤😊
This is my great grandmother. Her son, Stephen Kingston, is my grandfather.
This is my dad's cousin. Edna and her sister used to come to ur house when we lived in Illinois. I met her brother Lue Stanley when we went to Virginia at Cousin Johnny house. I also remember Ruth and I think her other sister name is Virginia. Hey family!!!!
I wish I’d been able to meet her! I’m going through one of her cookbooks right now. What a talented and wise southern chef!
What a beautiful tribute to a sweet and amazing lady and to the culture of Orange County around which she grew up, thrived, learned and eventually moved away from to share with the world. I was privileged to live several years in the Freetown area and discover its history. That is when I learned of Edna Lewis. How I wish I'd had the opportunity to meet her. I have all her books. The first one, The Taste of County Cooking, I have read through like a novel, many times! I love that book! Thanks so much for this informative documentary of an extraordinary woman!
I ate at Gage and Tollner in Brooklyn in the 1980s and 1990s. I even met her when I took my mom and aunt there in 1988. She-crab soup to die for. Shad and shad roe. Amazing food.
Such a wonderful documentary about a fascinating woman.
