Dont’t you think the Stage 4 is better though?

@@luucdentoom6955Not really no. Not worth an upgrade in my eyes. It’s cool though. The Stage 3 will remain as Nord’s best selling keyboard for a reason. It’s just too good. I’m a bit disappointed with the Nord Stage 4. They could had made critical improvements but they’ve fallen short in some areas.

The Stage 4 is a departure from the NORD usability for real time players. Stage 3 is better IMO in this respect. Although the stage 4 if superior in sonic ability due to its multiple layers and enhanced samples.

NORD is in order except that its keys could be stronger and more piano-like. Thanks for the video.

You left out splitting the keyboard as part of the layering.

      Example explanation?

@@keithclark486 they could have used a touch screen workstation to visually show the layer channels and keyboard zones. My korg has 16 separate channels. Each channel can be assigned a sound, a range of the keyboard, volume, velocity gate, etc. So i could make several channels of big brass sounds and layer them only on the low half of the keyboard by setting the ranges to the lower half. Then I could make several channels of strings and harps and make the key ranges for those layers the remaining top half of the keyboard. I have split the keyboard into 2 equal parts each containing several different layers of sounds. You can overlap key ranges any way you want or make it just 1 key for the big bass drum. My mx88 is more simple and I can only either layer or only split the 2 voices since that is all you can do with just 2 channels.

I think they wanted to show just one concept, but I agree, splitting puts the real power into layering. Just many layers across the whole keyboard is monolithic mush.
