Other models with increased infill and a sharper edge actually hurt. Obviously not near as bad as actual brass knuckles but if you are fighting and the opponent doesn’t have this you are hitting harder and not feeling the direct impact in your knuckles. It’s more for protection and the upper hand then beating the shit out of someone.

Hey Nicholas, please explain this further because we didn't noice anything like this as we tested it..
+ChrisViral when you punch something with your bare fist the pressure of the blow is put on you fingers, and knuckles. These can be very weak, and easy to break. Brass knuckles use their rings, and the pommel brace against your palm to transfer the force of impact directly to your arm, so your fingers are pretty much just along for the ride. Perhaps I was mistaken, and yours are big enough, but I've seen people get these snug like rings pressed right into their fingers. Because of this the force of impact still affects their fingers instead of bypassing it entirely, and they end up punching a brick wall, and breaking something. I'm no expert on the physics, but this is something I have physically observed, so I would caution people against getting their knuckles too tight, because they can hurt themselves.
Thanks for your detailed explanation, I'd second that. Totally makes sense to me but when I think about it...
It's probably a wrong punching technique and if you combine this with small and snug knuckles you might end up hitting the target with your fingers instead. Going full power and not hitting with the knuckles...
OH AND... If the pad or the knuckles in generall are too small. This would mean that the pad does not connect to the palm thus not transerring the force. This might be it..
The knuckles I made are indeed very snug, there's almost no gap, especially if you form a tight fist. But while testing we had absolutely no problems regarding pain in the fingers (we know how to punch though). Literally all the force got transfered to the palm and it hurt quite a bit. We still could not go full power... It was too painfull especially against the wall.
+ChrisViral I see... Interesting. Further testing is required. Perhaps wrapping the pommel? I've also heard of something called the iron fist that might accomplish this...nI'm gonna have to play around with it... And maybe ask one of my smarter friends to do some math...
@@ChrisViral dusters are meant to end fights before it starts. So the pain in your palm is the trade off for a vicious blow to some dudes dome, likely breaking bone. Your rings should be more oval than circular so there's no chance that you break fingers, you don't want them touching. Maybe plastic is less likely to break your bones over say aluminium plate.
With big heavy steel, brass, or bronze knuckles you just might be able to punch a hole through that cinder block wall.
Can't do that with the plastic knuckles.

@The Unknown John Doe 🤔🤔It depends since it is a technicality regarding construction materials of the knuckles in which the law doesn’t specify construction material or just refer to metal knuckles (since plastic knuckles are a more recent thing than metal ones ). Some law penalties have changed to include plastic or any other material but not all laws since some still retain that old view (steel material). On the other hand others have removed the regulation on brass knuckles all together and only the criminal act done with the weapon or any other weapon is penalized which is a more intelligent approach since criminals doesn’t care about the law (reason why they are criminals 🤷). Which is an excellent approach that empower the law abiding citizen allowing them to defend themselves against criminals while penalizing THE ACTIONS of criminals.🤔🤔

lol cheapest printers where around 60eur ? . cheapest 3D printer is around 190€. You could go cheaper , i bought the parts from china , but didnt build the printer (lack of time xD) for under 100€.
But you need skill and time.

I own hundreds of different brass knuckles but I never carry any of them. I prefer to carry a large pocket knife or two, some pepper spray, and a couple other covert and more legal impact weapons.

Make knuckle dusters out of that epoxy you use on boats. Its a harder material than normal plastic.

I printed off a similar pair of knuckles. I stopped the print before the final layer began. I filled the knuckles with epoxy resin mixed with steel powder. I also put a lead weight in the skeletonized grip part. the things hit like a truck.

all the knucles do is just sheild your hand, theyre like a boxing golve in a street fight. i would deffenently prefer wood, it isnt as flexable, concealable, or light weight as the plastice versions but the overall use of them is amazing and when i pick my weapon in a fight it has to have ufgh plastic just bounces like rubber while some wood is as hard as iron yet still lighter, and is better astetically and you deffientally is more well easyier to make, i made a wooden pair from a file and a cheap homeade say and they turned out perfect. i broke my brothers arm with them but yes while they do feel good when you punch something its not really improving your power
the only reason you were able to break those boards is becuase you had the strenght orriganally and all the knuckles did was made sure you didnt get hurt giving you less hesitation and more power

Lol, ceramic tiles are brittle as fuck when not installed, try porcelain tiles. They bake them at a different temperature.making them harder and more dense. Still very breakable when not installed.

this plastic can take between 45-60kg pulling force @ ~6-8mm but i dont how much pushing force they can take. Punshing ceramic is not a good test.
Better try wood plates and go up in thickness (10-12-16-18-20-22-24mm)
Plywood(Sperrholz) is harder than cheapwood(Spanplatten)

For 3d printing knuckle dusters, poly-carbonate is the best option. It's a difficult material to get a successful print out of, but it's worth it for the durability the finished product will have. Fun Fact: Poly-carbonate is used in making kitchen cutting boards and bullet-resistant glass.

Hmm I see it like this: They are an extension of your arm, and the connection point is your palm. That's where the support sits and this is also the point where it hurts. So I think it's okay to wear them a bit lower if it's more comfortable like that. I think it also depends on the model, but yeah this might be an interesting video.
