- A couple of weeks ago, we tried to complete Super Mario 3D Land for the Nintendo 3DS without touching a single coin. Now, I won't spoil the outcome, but in this game, after we beat Bowser, we unlock 8 Special Worlds featuring tons of new levels! Sadly, those levels contain coins! So can we avoid them all? The reason that level is broken is, if you look at the left of the screen you can see the dandelions where you came from “explode” and you’re probably getting the coin that way.
5:15 it's cause the dandelions get destroyed and count as "enemies" in the games code. So, *you got a coin, my dude*

You collected the coins most likely because of the dandelions near the pipe, as you can see them explode when you land on the flag

No. You don't get p-wings in the special stages.
once you reach the special worlds, the P-wing doesn't spawn anymore, sadly
you really like helping people when it comes to beating games without touching coins you were in ceave gaming`s video once
Actually, there’s one mystery house that will actually give you a P wing. However, it’s surrounded by a bunch of tanookis which will give you coins if you already have two power ups on you.
U don’t get p-wing on extra levels

My only complaint is that most times when he says "those" he should probably say "these", but at this point I can't tell if it's on purpose or not since it is so prevalent in his videos.
I really like these Mario challenges that have been popping up lately. It's really interesting to play a game with certain restrictions, y'know? I also really like how you dove into some retro Mario games for your coinless videos. Playing an older game coinless must be much harder because of the lack of movement options. I actually just did SMB3 without pressing left, and the lack of movement options becomes a real problem in that game lol. Good luck with your next challenge, dude!

The final level would be 100% impossible, seeing as there are plenty of goombas that you basically HAVE to jump on and those have coins

Boy I've been waiting for this Video so long because Super Mario 3D Land is my absolutely favourite jump and run game and it's the only one I finished 100% and got all starcoins etc. Without watching the video, I think the challenge is to 90% impossible, but i'm so excited! The question you asked (5:10) intrigued me, so I booted up my 3ds for the first time in months to answer your question.
For some reason, those dandelion things are treated like enemies when you touch the flagpole. They disappear. Why is there only one then?
My theory: There is some sort of code in the game files that goes a little like dis:
If dandelion? Then disappear. If coin in dandelion? Then collect it.
There is a coin in one of the dandelions.

for that level you're confused with, possible or not, you can see the little flower circle things pop in the corner, giving you a coin probably because they were in the area. hope it helps.
You can beat the secret level with no coins if you take the item which brings you to the end of the level from on on the locked levels in the normal world.

You need every starcoin meaning you have to beat every level but some of them are impossible without touching a coin. So he can't play it.

You forgot the Crown level in S8. You unlock it by getting all of the star coins in the game, get all golden flagpoles, and complete every level as both Mario and Luigi to unlock S8-Crown.

The goal is not to touch coins. When you get coins from the timer and the flag, you don't touch them. Then you don't have to wait for less than 10 seconds on the clock and do not have to grab the top. You also don't have to skip the level with the "Mystery Coin". You also don't touch the coins from cosmic clones.
No, the goal is to not COLLECT coins, it counts as collecting if the coin counter increases.

The flowers disappear at the end of World S2-2. It probably gives you a coin that one of them contains.
The coin from 2-2 at the flagpole it was because 1 coin was in the white/yellow "bush" thing that why you get a coin.
Tip: You can see that all the white/yellow bushes fade away after completing the level.

there are a few other times in the run where he clearly has several dandelions around a flag pole when he gets it yet there are no coins. Probably just an enemy accidentally put out of bounds.

If you notice the puff ball flowers explode when you grab the flagpole. The first one has a coin in it. So when it explodes, you collect the coin.
