  • Firewood processing is so much fun I think everyone should have a processor...the big girl gets a workout today making boiler wood again...this is halves and quarters only with 20" rounds and some weigh 30-40 pounds! BIG WOOD!

Got to love the production value of that processor. And yup, boiler customers are different than stove customers. My neighbour Guy does not like it when I split them too small. (which is why I do it sometimes..LOL!) Have a nice weekend with your family!

Not much money in boiler wood, as those people tend to be cheap or want it for ad kow a price as possible because they are trying to save $ on heat. For a bigget operation with a processor, is more profitable than a guy like me with a saw and a splitter.

I know it would be an investments but have you thought about hooking up the Vacuum to collect the sawdust? I use to love burning the cookies. The real small cookies I would split and use to start fires. Now I am not sure if you have ever heard of this but I will give it a shot. Some schools use sawdust for crafts and they also use it for cleaning up messes. I used sawdust in the garage and yes it will help absorb anything you spill.

I see you are putting the crotched logs on the deck so they are the last thing to split. Is that working better than doing the crotch first? / It's a shame the longer pieces are not falling into the splitting chamber cleanly a lot. / Neat "trick" holding the double-log back! / YES, more wood is the correct answer!

    • @InTheWoodyard
