Well, apparently random then :) No build-up or obvious cause for it and nothing explaining it to the viewer afterwards. It's a scripted sketch, but maybe a bit of improv here and there which they agreed was funny and kept in. Quite Monty Python, where people may not get why something happens, but find it funny. We could analyse it further or just enjoy it!
it wasn't random, it was immediately after she mentioned the tissues. Just like her makeup was brought into highlight AS she was asked if you could fix your makeup while working.
@frankmurphyburr3598 • oh, here it is.. yet another ignorant, "underrated" comment on YOU TUBE. You people are so fucking supercilious in your ingrained belief that everyone other than yourselves are too dim to appreciate anything in the Way that you claim to. Get over yourself...
The Petticoat 5 was built from a HP 9825A computer. The tissue dispenser is located in the slot for the HPL system ROM, and the vanity mirror used to be the tape drive. Hidden beneath the ring holder there should be a single-line alphanumeric LED display. The CRT television was not part of the original system.
Proof that we're living in the spoof timeline: Fujitsu recently marketed a line of "modern Petticoat 5" laptops, silly name and all: the Fujitsu Floral Kiss. Features include a pearl power button, a synthetic diamond studded case and -- yes, a lid designed to be easily opened with long fingernails.
Obviously this is a spoof, but I have to say, that keyboard might actually be useful; I always find myself typing one row below where I'm aiming for after I finally cut my fingernails...
It needs a feature that automatically finds people from their high school on Facebook who have gotten fatter than they have so they can feel better about themselves without having to type.
LOL en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Look_Around_You Look Around You Episode 5 Simon Pegg: King Henry. David Walliams: the voice of "Bournemouth", Britain's most technologically advanced computer. Paul Jerricho: "Computer Jones", inventor of Bournemouth. Alex Lowe: "Lee Grithiffths", owner of "Grithiffths Game Megamart". Belinda Stewart-Wilson: "Patricia " (surname is silent), inventor of the first computer for women, "Petticoat 5". In this episode Edgar Wright also returns as "Eddie Yorque", Look Around You's chief technician. www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/lookaroundyou/
It's a little-known fact that it was the husband of a Petticoat 5 that invented computer porn, when pondering on the use of the tissue dispenser. Of course, with only eight colours and 48kilobytes of memory, the early pictures left a lot to the imagination.
Not sure if trolling. The basic language of a computer, even beneath programing "languages" is binary. Binary was coincidentally first formally described by one Gottfried Wilhelm von Leibniz (fun fact: he also created the calculus notations we still use today). As far as programing languages, which are not machine code but simply instructions for an application which then translates them in a way the computer understands (binary). A few have been, namely 3, none of which are widely used today.
Feminist here. If by "all over this" you mean "pissing myself laughing"... ...then yes. Yes I am. I see Ada Lovelace's descendant carried on her great work - well done, Ma'am! :-)
"Then I probably had the same dream for the next 40 or 50 nights and I thought, yes I'll do that"
Thanks, Olivia. Tholivia.
Love the random cough at 0:42

it's from the mid 1990s right?
No. It's from an early 2000s show parodying "Tomorrow's World" type shows from the late 70s-early 80s.
The most sextist compuetr ever
Won't the numbers confuse them ?
