    I have the 950B made in Italy. I really like it. As a woman, I prefer to carry it over my ,38. Far less bulky. Doesn't weigh down my purse.

    • @MilsurpGarage
      @MilsurpGarage  Před 2 lety +3

      It is a nice small pistol. Also interesting for a carry gun is it’s ability to be fully loaded/unloaded without having to cycle a slide. The Italian one is nice as it has no safety which was added for USA sales compliance (not import compliance). This safety was awkward and unnecessary.

    Cool review! I just happen to own a mint Jetfire in the box. Cleaning rod, factory safety flag, and a leather Bianchi holster. Mine has the safety. Yep, says Made Beretta USA. Picked it up a few months ago at my local gun shop. Coolest little gun!

    I bought one in excellent condition a few months ago for $150 in a LGS. It feels very slick, but I haven't gotten it to a range yet. Mine dates from 1964.
    Thanks for sharing.

    Your video montage/music was excellent. Entertaining instead of BORING like many of the other gun videos. The best thing Beretta has done recently is introduce factory threaded barrel models of their 21A and 2032 pop up barrel pistols. Has completely revived those model lines with strong sales.

    Big fan of your videos. Found your channel when looking for videos about the Bayard 1908. I also have a 1966 made 950B with a serial of B85XXX. Just to warn you a bit when you fire it; it bites if you have large hands. Keep up the good work.

  • @markkilburn112
    @markkilburn112 Před rokem

    The major drawback in most of these little Beretta's is that there is no extractor. They rely on the "jet" of hot gunpowder gas to blow the empty case out. Brilliant in concept, but if you have a dud round that fails to fire, immediate action requires manually opening the tip up barrel and hopefully "flipping" the dud round out. Then manually inserting a single round, closing the barrel and continuing to shoot. Not as big a deal with today's good, reliable ammo. Very cool guns, I had a later model i 7:31 n .22

    • @MilsurpGarage
      @MilsurpGarage  Před rokem +1

      I’ve been waiting to “flip and rack” myself but have never had a dud, a failure to extract, a failure to feed, stovepipe……anything. This thing is a “get off me” back up dream.

    • @Treblaine
      @Treblaine Před 8 měsíci

      The problem with duds is hangfires are as likely, trying to extract a cartridge just as it ignites is bad for everyone. Also "duds" are often squibs so the primer just dumps the bullet barely into the bore and some smouldering smokeless powder loose in between the case and the bullet.
      The only way to quickly and reliably deal with a misfire is the new york reload.
      You need to deal with misfires slowly and safely on a range but the best thing to do overall is shoot enough varieties of ammo in different conditions (so don't skip range day when the weather's bad) and find ammo that won't misfire.

      In have a Beretta 1934 that has the Roman Numerals...
      On THAT weapon, the Roman Numerals stand for the Mussolini Dynasty...
      He came to power in 1920, and the Beretta's that came after that, have the date of manufacture, as well as the Roman Numerals...
      Your gun would show as manufactured in 1942 (1920 + XXII)...
      EXCEPT that the 950 was first manufactured in 1952...
      But, I still think that the Roman Numerals have SOMETHING to do with the Mussolini thing...
