Interesting project of placing the second battery in parallel with the original. Is there any real advantage to this modification as opposed to just carrying the second battery in a battery bag (as you are doing in the video) and simply swapping batteries as one gets close to depletion?
Have you found a rear rack bag that can hold more than just the second battery, ie. lock, chain, spare tube and repair kit, etc. in addition to the battery?

That was my thought as well. Why not just carry the spare battery and swap out as needed? I sometimes pull a trailer so I could theoretically carry multiple spares. I'm age 70, weigh 280 lbs and can easily get 40 miles on one battery with light pedaling in "TOUR" assist setting. I wish that the front rack was wide enough to hold a spare battery.

Question. When these are in parallel and I charge the battery on the bike, will it also charge the second battery, or does each battery need it's own power source to recharge? Will the aventon computer account for the extra range you have and give the percentage left based on both batteries?

The batteries will need to be charged with their own respective charging ports.
If charged full before use, the display will show the capacity of both batteries as one.

Do you know if this factory second battery set up will work on Adventure V1 also? They use the same battery. I did see your video a year ago, adding a second 10AH battery to adventure V1. Very cool video's. Thanks

Yes the adapter should fit your V1 battery.

I have an Aventure. 2 and have the kit on hand. I just need to install it. My question to you is how does that system work with both batteries connected? Will both batteries drain simultaneously or one at a time? I would think I'd have to disconnect the external one to prevent it depleting with the main battery. I have an Aventure battery I'm going to strap on the back rack. I look fwd to hearing from you.

They will uniformly discharge together 1 battery

They won’t know even if they tried to find out, it’s called daisy chain in the electrical field. You can add as many batteries you like. The output is regulated by the regulator.
