I love how confident Hammersmark was that nobody would have an ear for Italian and then he just busts out grammatically perfect Italian with a flawless accent; to which Pitt replies with the most Texas sounding "Bongiorno".
That is literally true, Tarantino was ready to can the entire movie. He said that he thought he had written a character that was impossible to cast. Then in walked Christoph, the rest is cinematic history.
Top 4 best actors ever: 4. Christoph Waltz, which is talking on English 3. Christoph Walts, which is talking on French 2. Christoph Waltz, which is talking on Italian 1. Christoph Walts, which is talking on German
He didn't just speak different languages, he had flawless accent too for each of them. I've seen many MANY Hollywood movies where the actors speak a foreign language and they always mess up the accent somehow. Im so glad i watched inglorious basterds cause now Christoph Waltz is my favourite male actor without doubt. Not only because of the languages he spoke but because he's acting was amazing. I LOVED his character
He is phenomenal! Amazing to speak each language with such perfection in both pronunciation and accent. It’s difficult as hell to do it in two and he’s doing it in four in one movie!
It's amazing he was even a presenter at the yearly video game awards show! Lol. So he's either extremely down to earth and a average dude or they paid him a shit ton! I mean your talking imo a A list movie star at video game awards, pretty freaking cool
He says things with such serenity and straight face you have to wonder if he is being serious or not. His Hans Landa character was so terrifying because he was so authentic on an entirely new level. I left the theater believing, THAT must have been what it was like to be in front of a real SS officer in 1939. A totally complete psychopath. You could hear a pin drop from the back row in a packed house during the entire opening scene of Inglorious Bastards. I have never felt anything like it before, or since.
And here I was thinking he wasn't even actually speaking that language fluently, he was just "being an actor" Damn his role in Inglorious Basterds was as close to perfect as you can get. Absolutely brilliant
Well I don't know about other languages he is a bit rough on the Italian side. Still, you can tell there was alot of effort. This dude is a great actor
Definitely one of the top 5 actors of ever tbh
1000%
Too underrated actor if we are being honest.
@@kadian299 no, underrated is underrated. Hes a once in a generation maybe even 2 generation actor.
> back to back academy awards

ok
Exactly.. I count his name together with De niro, Al pachino..
He has my heart. He became a new person with each language. Amazing.
"To possess a second language is to possess a second soul" - Charlemagne

This movie and Django unchained made me respect and appreciate him as an actor
Exactly. Absolutely brilliant actor
wow. watched both films and didnt even recognize it was the same actor just because of how different the characters are. That’s incredible, honestly
@@showmethestarfax that’s how good of an actor he truly is. And a idk why but he makes it look so damn easy
Don’t for get bloodnavski. Green hornet 😜

Christoph owns every role he's in without question.
Especially as Dr King and can never spell the last name. But you know who I mean in django he killed that movie.

anyone asks me where you wanna be in 5 years, I'll say I wanna be Christoph Waltz.
There's precisely one person who could have played this role and it is Christoph. The definition of perfect casting.
That is literally true, Tarantino was ready to can the entire movie. He said that he thought he had written a character that was impossible to cast. Then in walked Christoph, the rest is cinematic history.

One of a kind, intelligent, educated And his commitment to the role… is just in a different universe.
Love this man !
Waltz actually doesn’t speak Italian, but learned his lines by heart
Fun fact: Every language that Christoph waltz spoke in this movie, he spoke fluently, except for Italian. And yet it still sounds so natural.
Should have added “That’s a bingo!” at the end
As Italian I can confirm that can speak italian better that major part of reporters of Pubblic TV

And he’s Austrian! So all of the languages he spoke were foreign to his native country. Crazy talent.
Except german
@@kevinhanandi true
@@kevinhanandibut even then he did a good job getting rid of the Austrian accent.
@@DaemonwarriorJulius fair enough
@@DaemonwarriorJuliusIt wouldn’t have changed much if he hadn’t done so. Many SS officers were Austrian.
His Italian was so ridiculously good - Con la musica de la parooooleeeeee 😩
