Dillon Dean Actually, we’ve already heard a few things about Frank’s old man in Season 3. Frank explained to Kevin why he’s never met Grandpa Murphy. He also told Kevin the sad story of the night after his school play.
@@RoboWatchgirl you're referring to S3 E9 when they're sitting at the table and frank tells kevin the story about when he was in the 5th grade play and his dad came down there to only laugh at him and how he got humiliated and started to mess up his lines.
Than we know after the play his father refused to give him a ride home and drove behind him yelling who wants a daughter I thought I had a son and called him francine.
Other then that we don't know any basic info about the father. We know how the father treated frank but we dont know anything personal about the father. Like the name or where he's from as some examples.
I think we all agree franks father is a piece of shit but there's probably a back story behind it that will be revealed during S4. By the end of the season we could end up liking franks father and maybe find out that he was really successful at one point and lost it which triggered rage or maybe his fathers father treated him just as bad and he passed it on to frank.
You never know. But by the end of S4 we'll have fully developed opinions.
I love this show. One of the few reasons that makes Netflix worth it.

I only respect Big Mouth because there’s my boys Nick Kroll and John Mulaney in it, and also because it does have some sort of clever humor and character development. But I have to agree that F is for Family is a much better show in terms of comedy and storytelling, because sometimes it hits too close from home.

Might also be commentary on how even angry fathers grow old and frail and need someone to take care of em in their old age, some becoming more friendly and docile and wanting attention when most of their acquaintances have died already like for example good ol' Grandpa Simpson. But since Bill Murphy doesn't really show any other signs of personality like goofyness or patheticness it does actually seem likely that there's gonna be some twist of sorts.

A long time ago I watched a show called “God, the Devil, and Bob”. In one episode Bobs father died and he was angry that he got to go to heaven even though he was always really mean to Bob. Then God gives what I feel is a okay analogy for being a father to a son.
Or maybe the father has or trying to change because he feels bad, like maybe he found out he’s dying and wants to make peace with his son.
