I always loved watching Mark play as much as listening to it. It doesn't look hard or easy when he plays, it seems to just be a state of existence to him, eating, sleeping, moving, playing. No other guitarist makes the guitar look to be a part of the artist than him. The music seems to come straight from the mind, fingers don't play, they just make way for the music flowing through them. I rarely saw anybody come closer to that than Tracy here. The music could just as well come from her face, looking at the satisfied smiles and nods there.
@@nemanjastankovic4439 Jimi's music never talked to me. I see how he was a genius, but I don't really feel it, if that makes any sense. I also grew up at a time when music was not visual, I had tapes and disks as a kid and while there were music shows on TV, there were no music videos (yet). So for me, music was like iPhones, you wouldn't open that to see the inner workings of it. Most of the music I grew up to love was just that, music, something to enjoy. I never really thought about the process of making music, "good music" was when I liked it. After trying and failing to learn playing the guitar (I'm the most untalented person on the planet regarding music) and then after developing appreciation for talent and hard work, I rediscovered my music by watching my musicians making it on videos. That's when I fell in love with Mark for the second time. The first time was when listening to him on day long bike tours, the second time watching what his fingers do. I think "better" is hard for me to apply to this particular appreciation, because it's really very personal and probably also specific for the way how my relation to music evolved over the years. But I always wondered why I never like Jimi's music much. I guess I should. When I listen to Dire Straights now, I see landscapes and memories of places were I made my tours on the bike decades ago, remembered as if it was yesterday. The scents of forests, memories of people close to me at the time. I also see that flowing through fingers picking strings. Music is magical.
@@nemanjastankovic4439 Sorry for that comment, it wasn't at all meant negative in any way, at least not in terms of my intentions. I find your style very interesting, not that I claim to understand what you intended to express. These comments of mine are also not only about the music, I am recently discovering how many experiences I collected over many years come together in unexpected ways changing my perception of many things. That probably sounds strange or absurd for anybody but me. But it's something that's fascinating to me and I talk about it because I like talking about stuff that fascinating me. In this case it looks like that's disruptive, again sorry, it wasn't meant to be. But anyway, thank you for publishing your music. I enjoyed it.
@@nemanjastankovic4439 I did not hear any mistakes in the music, neither did anything sound amateurish. But it's far from the original. To me that sounded totally like a deliberate interpretation, not as a failure to sound authentic. The cyberpunk image also played a role in how I understood it. It actually created a whole story in my mind. A sad story, but one I would want to watch if it came out of a Hollywood studio. Now if I completely misunderstood the intention, I feel a bit bad to elaborate on that, because I really did not want to be negative or insulting, to the contrary, I liked that a lot. You just might not like what I understood it to be. It's fine to talk about it here, in all likelihood nobody else is listening to us talking anyway. Except for some speech police AI, but I guess it would be in on the topic if it was smart enough (just kidding here).
Just wonderful Tracy, beautiful. Your lovely fingers just caress the fingerboard. It is astonishing how many beautiful young women are surfacing that are so accomplished and talented 👏 Brava! 🎉
I've heard this solo countless times. I had no idea how skilled you need to be to play it until now. There's a point I can't describe where there's a quick succession of notes, but the fingers on her right hand don't move. Blows me away how simple it sounds and looks.
