A comment about those windowless bedrooms in toronto condos… they are allowed through alternative solutions in the Ontario Building Code (they get around it by providing mechanical ventilation and loosely defined “access to natural light”). Not sure about how it works in the NBC Alberta version (you mentioned you were from Calgary), but unfortunately, yes, they are technically legal bedrooms here. It’s horrible. We can’t have an opening in a guard bigger than 4”, but we can have a windowless bedroom? It makes no sense. Talk about pandering to developers interests over protecting the general public.
