However, the reason behind it may due to most of us dont really having a belief of religions...... And thus government just don't care about any religions as none of them could influence their power. Some people said that China doesn't have any religious holidays, like Christmas, because religion is banned in China. However, I think differently. China doesn't ban any religion but treats every religion fairly. Christmas is a Christian celebration, right? If Christians can have holidays for their religious celebration, How about Buddhism, Taoism, Muslim, and others? There are too many different kinds of religion in China. If all have holidays for their celebration, Chinese people won't have a workday in a whole long year.

Buddhism was introduced to China relatively early, so Chinese Buddhism has been changed a lot. In ancient China, as long as Buddhism dared to interfere in politics, it would be suppressed by the emperors. After Buddhism was suppressed several times in the past 2000 years, Buddhism today is very friendly, peaceful, and will never involve politics. Taoism is a native religion, and it has also been suppressed many times in the past two thousand years, therefore Taoism is now very peaceful and dare not involve politics either. Christianity and Islam have not experienced such a process of change in China, and these two religions are still 。。。kinds of outsiders in the minds of Chinese people. But Buddhism, a religion from the other country, has already been part of the Chinese culture.

Little wonder, the long-term public opinion survey (conducted over a period of 15 years) carried out by the Ash Center research team of Harvard Kennedy School, shows that 90% of the Chinese citizenry think highly of their government. In stark contrast, only 35% of the Americans approve of their government.

I'm not sure I agree with your expression... China don’t tolerate cult for sure. But anyone with or without religion can interfere or rather influence politics in China; for example the representatives in the National People's Congress can have or don't have religion since it's religious freedom in China, and it is compulsory that there should have representatives from the minority groups with or without religion in the National People's Congress, especially the minority groups are the ones that mostly likely to have religious beliefs.
Religions will always have certain influence in politics in China because the minority groups are a very important part of China; religion and politics don't contradict, as long as there is a good balance, and certain religions don't go extreme. And for me personally, I consider Taoism, Confucianism are more like philosophy than religion, unlike Catholicism, Christianity, Islamism etc.

The true religious belief for Chinese is actually ancestors. Also when comes to religion, Chinese are quite practical. That's why Chinese are very lenient with religious differences. As for the moral guidance part, Chinese have other ways to guide their moral and behavior, for example through the thought of Confucius and Taoism.
