About ten years ago, I had to go to San Francisco for work. Got on the BART. It smelt of urine. It was full of graffiti and you definitely didnt feel safe given how aggressive some of the passengers were behaving. Got to my four star hotel and on the second night at around 2am I got woken up by commotion. Looked through the peephole and it was clear that someone's partner was having an affair with a man, and her partner has rocked up with a handgun to confront them. Honestly what is wrong with people. Then over the weekend I went for a walk through Chinatown and all I saw was severe deprivation and people out of it due to drugs. But what the hell, at least they can get high with all this democracy and freedom.
