- čas přidán 11. 01. 2018
- Twister: Ride It Out was a special effects attraction located in the New York section of Universal Studios Florida. The attraction, based on the 1996 film Twister, was announced in 1997 and replaced the Ghostbusters Spooktacular attraction. The attraction was hosted by Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt, who starred in the original film. The attraction closed on November 2nd, 2015, and was replaced with Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon, which opened on April 6th, 2017. In this video, we take a look at the 17-year history of the attraction, which brought guests face to face with a tornado.

The thing that made Universal so cool to me was that they were recreating these iconic movies and throwing you into them with amazing practical effects or animatronics. Now all they do is sit you in front of a movie screen and have your seat move, and its just ruined the magic of feeling like you're in a tornado or being attacked by Jaws.
The concept of Universal's original attractions is why I always preferred Universal over Disney. Attractions like Kong/Jaws/BTTF/ET were so good because they made the story revolve around us, the guest, instead of just coming along for the ride. We were escaping from Kong, surviving an attack from a great white shark, helping Doc capture Biff and riding a bike to help ET get back to his home planet and it was AWESOME. Now those experiences are lesser and lesser due to the lack of animatronics, practical effects and fully created sets.
Back to the Future was a giant screen with a moving seat and remains one of the most memorable rides These days you can get attacked by ghouls and dragons, fly in a quidditch match, escape through Gringots, become a high value target witness escaping in a high speed chase, ride through krustyland, get a new high score in mib, join spiderman, go through a comical flume ride. Many of which have Animatronics like Kong at the end of skull island and the bats plus it has that amazing animatronic sectiin in the queue, all of MiB basically animatronics, a lot of animatronics in Forbidden Journey and both queues for Forbidden Journey a d Gringots have some amazing animatronics, the animatronic mummies on the mummy ride, the giant worm in kong, dinos in jurassic park, parts of Popeyes barge and dudley do rights flume ride have animatronics. Animatronics dont make a ride better and even a lot of the older rides didnt rely heavily on animatronics.

It's looks like most money made into store story about how much money does it take movie maze and pay pal picture day away magic and pay pal picture of the same place looks like
I totally agree with you 👍
Twister was my very first job when I worked at universal studios over a decade ago. This brings back so many memories
That's pretty cool, how did you like working the attraction and at Universal?
I remember when I was a little kid, me and my family were going to go on this ride, but I was terrified to the point where I was crying and screaming that it was real and I didn't want my family and I to go in. My family was trying to convince me that it wasn't real, but nothing worked. A staff member that helped operate the ride saw the whole thing and offered to take me to the control booth behind the scenes and showed me how everything worked so I wouldn't be so scared anymore. It worked and I actually thought it was really cool! I ended up going on the ride almost 5 times in a row after that! What an amazing experience!
Wow, that's amazing.
Same here I miss them times
What a cool story!
I will admit that if you're stuck in the back and look up at the window showing the people controlling the ride it can ruin the experience. However, going back behind the scenes would be awesome!
That was so sweet!
It’s actually a special effects show, not a ride.
I absolutely loved that ride. Race Through New York really blows! Twister was interesting and different! As a kid I really couldnt understand how they did the Tornado and how they made the set look so real. I really thought i was outside. Wish Universal would keep being creative instead of throwing up a screen.
yea twister was a memory for me too i was sad when they demolished it
@@seraphimcoast Too bad the attraction didn’t have a ride system…
it was interesting but only a one timer imo. Ride through new york is a no timer
Race Through New York is so ass! Why tf did they even make that? I'd prefer the live action TMNT over this Jimmy Fallon Bs.
I was expecting it to be a ride with a ride system.
I went to universal with my family, and after we finished riding the Mummy, I say “hey, let’s go ride twister now!”
We walk up to the space where twister once stood, unconscious it had been removed. And there was the giant NBC headquarters standing in the place of the beloved attraction.
“WHAT THE HECK IS THIS????”
Sticks out like a sore thumb doesn't it? I think that's one of the worst decisions that has been for the park, at least replace the attraction with another movie, not a talk show.
DressyEye 678098 i rode twister one time and i got so scared of it and nearly cried, becoz i was so young i think i went there in 2011 or 2013 not sure, but i really miss this ride i'll never forget terminator and twister once stood.
FUCK JIMMY FALLON! Stupid to put that junk in who the hell wants to ride that junk?!?
And no one even cares about news or jimmy Fallon
Same here EXACTLY the same
Wish they kept it around would have been a perfect spot to remember and reminisce Bill Paxton.
RIP Twister and Paxton
I still can't believe Bill Paxton is gone :/ Wasn't even thinking about it until now. RIP Bill
RIP, left this world too soon.
Corey M Rip Bill Paxton. :(
RIP bill 🫡
He passed away 😢 love him..how did he passed away..
I worked as a Lead here. Still miss it. I even still remember all of the effects in order (had to have that memorized to open the building in the morning)...
HANDS ON HIPS FOR BILL PAXTON!
I’m not that big a fan of special effects shows, but WOW is Race Through New York a real big downgrade from Twister
I agree, why does Fallon need his own theme park ride?
Ads
I'd much rather have Twister back
Stfu there is nothing wrong with the special effects show your crazy insane
Theme Park History Basically any other talk show host would’ve been better.
This was the first ride I went on the first time I went to Universal at about 7 years old. Was absolutely terrified during the storm, but after I was so excited to see the rest of the park. Great memories
It was pretty scary for anyone who was younger, the build up to it didn't make it any better. I'm pretty sure the fire at the end is why I'm terrified to cook.
I was 8 and saw it when it was first opened. I was terrified and about pissed my pants. I especially hated when the floor fell.
The cow was the best part 😂😂
The cow was always the best part, no matter how many times I went to see the show I always laughed when it flew by.
Theme Park History Yup! I subscribed! May I recommend a video on Disney’s ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter?
Thank you for subscribing and of course you can recommend a video! ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter has been added to the list, thank you for the suggestion Mr. Magolor Guy! It's probably the attraction I regret the most not going on when it was open.
Theme Park History It was a scary dark ride done right 😂👌
I went back in 2011 and all I remember was the Moo as it flew across in the tornado lmao
True, from the guest perspective twister ride it out wasn't the most thrilling attraction. I still enjoyed it and experienced it every time I visited Universal Orlando. Personally what I enjoyed from it most was the nostalgia factor from just loving the movie so much. It was kind of an extension of the movie.
I agree, it might have felt a bit like Earthquake but I still loved it. Something about the entire experience was charming in a weird way. When you get to the actual show part I always though it was amazing, as it had to replicated time and time again. Plus it had Bill Paxton, which was more than plenty for me.
People can ride the roller coasters that are designed for the high Thrills
These rides were not designed for high Thrills they are
More like Disney Pirates of the Caribbean Haunted Mansion
It's a small world...
History of E.T, would be great to do a video on, given the fact that it’s the last remaining original ride.
Hey Michael, we just released a video on the history of the ET Adventure! Thank you for your suggestion, hope you enjoy it!
@@ThemeParkHistory u did
Twister > Fallon
Indeed Bradley.
I think you have it the other way around! Fallon > Twister!
Amen, Fallon has only been around for a few years. I was there this past fall and the wait time is already less than 5 minutes.
Harry Shoemaker
Fallon is a boring and mediocre ride that brings nothing special
The flying cow
Twister: Ride it Out is SO much better than Race through New York
Blockheads12 he’s gonna do it
Race Thur New York
Shrek GaL shut up

Nicolas Animation studios Bruh
I loved this ride for the fact that it actually made me feel creeped out. Sure it wasn't as thrilling as other rides, but this touched on emotions of unease caused by weather phenomena. I don't really feel much riding the other rides.
R.I.P BILL PAXTON May 17th,1955 - February 25th,2017 gone but not forgotten :(
The Twister Museum in Oklahoma is amazing. Can confirm everything about Hunt. The lady that runs the museum and the few people still in the small town say she was an absolute nightmare to interact with. Paxton was apparently a model person to everyone in town.
Rip Bill
Never understood why this ride got so much hate. I thought the effects were really cool.
Somebody once told me in a forum Twister was only "3 pre shows and a gift shop". I stopped talking to them after. I think the hate comes from the fact it replaced the Ghostbusters Spooktacular, which from the comments was a real favorite of everyones. I love Twister, it was a great experience that was different from the other attractions at the park. Also it had Bill Paxton in it, how can you not like that?
They showed *The Shining* in the movie, but they show a different film in the ride.
I don't think the ride was unpopular, but the film it was based on did not age well. The scientific community ripped it a new one, and the CGI that once seemed breathtaking is now really dated and obvious.
I remember seeing twister on popular mechanics for kids. I was really excited when I went on it and remember having a lot of fun.
I have an unconscious hatred for this ride because I was 6 when I rode it and cried my eyes out through the whole experience and my dad tried to make me laugh at the flying cow and it really didn’t work. Ahhh childhood trauma, you gotta love it
Strike 1: Jimmy Fallon replacing Twister.
Strike 2: FnF replacing Disaster.
Universal better not make another mall VR quality type of ride.
I wish this show was still a thing, I love effects shows like this
I still think they can work in the parks today, not every attraction has to be an E ticket ride.
I remember the Alien vs Predator haunted maze from HHN had it's queue wind through Twister's. All three franchises had Bill Paxton.
What HHN was that? 2015?
2014 I think. Same year they did that first house based on Halloween.
@@ThemeParkHistory They even recreated the scene where Hudson (Bill Paxton's character in Aliens) gets dragged through the floor.
I remember when the last day it was closing whole bunch of people dressed like a bill passed in from the movie
Now that is a awesome tribute to both the attraction and the Bill Paxton!
Theme Park History Thanks I couldn’t spell his name and I loved your video
No problem and thank you Smoky Foil!
That's some pretty creative engineering
There’s no creativity nowadays building the rides for this park anymore. I’m glad I was lucky enough to have a chance to ride most of the rides on this channel before they were unfortunately phased out. Your channel has given me a reminder of lots of memories too! You’ve earned a subscriber here!
i loved this movie, it’s the only time i’ve been to see a movie twice at the cinema. Rest in paradise Bill Paxton
I remember riding Twister back in 2001. As an 8-year-old who had not yet been desynthesized by practical effects, it scared the living shit out of me.
Eventually, I faced my fear and went on it again in 2009 during my high school marching band spring trip, and I enjoyed it then.
Thumbs up from me
I dearly miss this show
It had a certain charm to it. Even though it wasn't the most thrill seeking experience, it was still a pretty interesting and unique attraction for its time.
I miss the days where attractions didn't rely so heavy on screens, it was what made Universal so interesting in the 90's-mid 2000's. Every attraction was a set, there were props and physical effects. Now it's too much simulator rides and being sprayed with water.
Theme Park History yeah it was I really enjoyed it because it was also based off my favorite movie. And yeah universal with its simulators is really bad
Well harry potter is actually one of my favorites
I enjoy the movie, whenever it's on I'll stop whatever I'm doing to watch it. The simulators for the Potter rides I don't have a problem with because both are a mix of thrill rides (Forbidden Journey using animatronics, Escape from Gringotts using the roller coaster/spinner), it's more of Fallon/Despicable Me/Transformers that annoys me. The rides all start to feel the same, which becomes a bad thing for anyone who wants to visit the parks a second time. If the rides don't stand out from each other, why bother coming back?
Theme Park History yeah what's the point
Technically you're watching a movie rather than riding a ride
I love you Dark Doge i miss that attraction and by the way nice model that i saw in CZcams coOL!
THE JIMMY FALLON RIDE!? Aw geez, Can we Mom? CAN WE?!
(to be fair, its queue line is pretty creative)
Race Through New York with Jimmy Fallon has been added to the list, thank you for your suggestion Evan.
I still find myself saying "a devouring colossus bent on destruction" in a monotone deadpan voice almost weekly and laughing at my own dumb snark. Ha. I miss this attraction so much--Jimmy Fallon is funny as a person and late night host, but RTNY just can't hold a candle to good ol' Twister. Being there on closing night and seeing how many people came out dressed up in Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt's costumes from the movie was a bittersweet thrill. Great vid. Just discovered your channel and it's fantastic! :)
I went on this the month it opened in 1998 and again in 2014, glad I got to see it again before it closed.
Was usually the first attraction I would go on whenever me and my family visited the park just because the wait time was so low 😂
i consider myself truly lucky to have gone on Twister, Jaws, King Kong etc before they were gone.
While completely out of place in the NY section of the park, I always loved Twister🌪. I think part of that is because the movie absolutely fascinated me as a young kid - not sure if I saw it before the attraction, but they did such an amazing job of capturing the essence of the film given the limitations of the show building. I’ll always have fond memories of the queue and the pre-shows in particular, and the soundtrack as you exited with Bill Paxton’s narration. It was definitely a great way to start a day at the park.
Another great video, even as a first! A couple cool bits- under the truck, there was a hidden old school Mickey Mouse hat.
Concerning the outdoor humidity- the lower the humidity, say the winter times- they could generate a larger twister. However, with higher humidity- all months outside of Dec/Jan- the twister would be smaller. Your video reminded me how much I miss the 'Finger of God' rip
Thank you! I never knew about the humidity part as I would always visit either in June/July/August, that's pretty interesting! It's a shame Bill's gone, he left this world too soon RIP.
The Bill Paxton vids in the queue really amped me up as a kid waiting for this ride. RIP Bill and this classic attraction.
Glade there was enough footage from the ride but it was probably best to see in person, twister one of my favorite movies to this day
I don't like the Jimmy Fallon ride because it's just a giant movie with some movement, which isn't even that good. It totally goes against the nature of Twister. What a good show.
I just don't see the appeal of Jimmy Fallon having his own ride. It just feels so out of place for a talk show host to have an attraction, what happens if he leaves the show? Do they replace him with whoever takes over?
Theme Park History That's very good remark. Thank you for your feedback, and keep up the good work!
Awww i like the JF ride
@@tasbar7743 me too
Florida resident here, everyone agrees the Jimmy Fallon ride is lame as hell. Twister was closed for being a one trick pony, yet Jimmy Fallon was dated after its first day.
Universal needs to stop leaning on simulators and screens like a crutch. It may be less expensive to maintain, but guests are already starting to head to Disney for more variety.
What Universal is really leaning on to be honest, is Harry Potter.
Skull island, got an ok reception.
Jimmy Fallon, eh whatever.
Fast and the Furious Supercharged, Wtf guys?
Hagrids motorbike adventure, 6 hour line🙄🙄.
darrell holland at least they still do rides, not only screen attractions
@@bonniebyrd4228 Indeed. Harry Potter is doing the heavy lifting for universal.
T Jon Yeah, but with some of the things they do, animontronics can only go so far. To me it makes sense.
Race through New York is pretty cool actually. But I do wish I got to go on twister
A video on the history of the Ghostbuster ride/Show would be awesome
Ghostbusters Spooktacular has been added to the list, thank you for your suggestion Specz!
Fantastic video. Thanks for making it! I miss these classic Universal Orlando attractions and how physically and practically impressive they were.
Thank you Jonathan, we appreciate the kind words. I feel a part of my childhood has disappeared with all the attractions being replaced at the park. The new rides just lack what they originals had with their pratical/special effects, animatronics and storylines.
The opening of this attraction scarred me for life.
I have a short story about my first and only trip to this park in 2016.
My dad and I just got off The Mummy. It broke down right in the beginning before the launch bay. We went into the gift shop and we started chatting up the old guy at the register. We told him we we’re from Cali and our first trip and he wrote us a note for Twister across the street. Little did we know, that this ride was on its way out.
This note aloud my dad and I to go behind the scenes into the control room and watch the two dudes make the Twister! My first ride ever!
Listen, I’ve been going to Disneyland and Knott’s countless amounts of times collectively, and no matter what I never received a benefit like that.
Shoutout to that guy in the gift shop, Twister is the reason why I get butterflies for set design and stage shows. Thanks for reading ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ
Hopefully Universal remakes Twister again after the loss of Bill Paxton, rest in peace (1955-2017);
I went there in Feb. 1999 (was a VERY new attraction at the time) It was amazing! such a cool experience a little short thou, but so cool! so sad they closed it down!
So, fun fact, (although I doubt anyone will believe me) my uncle is the engineer who designed the twister in the middle of the ride. Not many people will care, but I thought it was really cool!
Tell your uncle thank you for creating one of my favorite attractions at the park!
Ok, I thought Race Through New York was nice, but now I saw Twister for the first time. What the hell!
Looks like an awesome experience with really great special effects! :O
First of all, I don't understand why you don't have more subscribers than you do. This has been the most educational and entertaining video I've seen of this ride. Second of all, I remember bits and pieces of this ride, seeing as I was only 6. I don't remember any of the queue, sadly, and barely remember the ride. I only remember crying at the pyrotechnics and wind, and my dad carrying me out during the show. Watching this made me reminisce on those memories and what I missed out on. Good on you my man
Thank you so much for the kind words Timothy! While we try to educate on the history of the attractions, our main focus usually ends up being on the entire ride experience. Some people might not remember or never had the opportunity to experience the ride, so we try to be as detailed as possible. As for the pyrotechnics, I would always avoid being dead center due to the giant fireball at the end, it was almost as bad as the gas dock part on the Jaws ride!
Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast has been added to the list, thank you for your suggestion! We will most likely do this attraction and Nickelodeon Studios in back to back episode so time in the near future.
Theme Park History It's funny you mention that. I also rode the Jaws ride on the same trip, and remember my dad shielding my face when the giant oil tanker exploded. I can still feel that sudden wave of hotness rush over us
It was a terrifying and awesome experience, shame there isn't really much like that anymore.
Bill Paxton R.I.P
Left too soon R.I.P.
I remember this so fondly as a child! It was a huge highlight of my first trip to universal! I wad PISSED when I visited universal this last summer and it was gone and replaced with Fallon 😤
I liked the attraction. In the actual movie the shining was playing at the drive in while in this attraction it was people under the stairs.
I think the reason they couldn't get The Shining was because they don't own the rights to the film and would have had to pay to use it. Didn't make sense since it would only be for a few seconds before the twister destroyed the screen.
+Theme Park History Wait a minute, weren't the Shining and Twister both distributed by Warner Bros?
@@splinky9226 Warner distributed Twister here in the west and Universal had international rights to it and theme park rights
One of my favorite movies and attractions of all time ❤️ miss it, Jaws & Back to the Future desperately 😭
Game over man, game over... (sad face)
😭
RIP Bill Paxton
R.I.P TWISTER RIDE IT OUT
NEVER FORGET.
I remember the Twister ride fairly well. Went on it as a kid with my family the year it first opened. I remember being terrifed and scared to look at what was going on in the actual ride. LOL. But over time, I opened my eyes and gained respect for the time and effort that was put into making the ride and recreating the movie magic. Thank you for this video. Great work for your first video!
Did you know the Creative people at Universal put a Mickey ear hat on the underside of one of the wheels of the car?
I think so! It was on one of the wheels in the second preshow room of the car stuck in the ceiling.
Theme Park History
I didn't know it was there until I read Attractions Magazine and they had a close up picture of it ....I don't know it is true, but being it's Universal, they supposedly put an ear hat in Jaws' mouth😀😀😀
Can't forget the Mickey ear hat floating in the water in Jurassic Park: The Ride
Theme Park History
I didn't see that one! Ah, Universal...always known for their great sense of humor....
You have to give them at least an A for effort though.
I remember someone in my group cried
Wait...
Sorry I'm such a big scaredy cat.
Bobby Fat Ya sure it wasn't me?
Wait... I don't think I even got the real show, I freaked out in the queue
Lmfao me too. last time I went to universal was back in 2011. i was like 4 or 5 and I cried so hard. I was really scared when the cow flew across the room in the tornado Idk why I think I hated cows.... my mom still teases me about it ;I
This is way too relatable.
The Moon Man Himself That was me, I’m sorry. I was 13 and deathly afraid of tornadoes. I never forgave my parents for that.
I'm getting hugely anxious just seeing the pre show on video. I was irrationally terrified of tornadoes as a kid after experiencing a small one in central Ontario, but a few years later on our trip to Florida my extended family insisted on seeing this show and yelled at me for crying too much. I appreciate everything that went into the show seeing it described here, but oh my gosh did I not realize until seeing this video that that experience is still with me 12+ years later!
That ride gave me nightmares when I was a child.
I still remember everything so vividly. The dull and darkened sky, the wind whirling, the metal roof slamming up and down like it was going to be ripped off.
The intro was everything
They were throwing everything at the wall in that commercial.
I loved this ride. It was so cool. I miss it.
The start of a true, theme park enthusiast legend.
they call it the finger of god, greatest line ever
I've been watchin plenty of theme ride videos over the years but you're the first one Ive subscribed to...good stuff dude! Informational without just being a video essay.
Thank you so much boschvox! That means a lot to us, we try to separate ourselves from the other channels who cover theme parks as well but it's hard, there's only so much information to go around! We try to focus on what we would find interesting and try to cram it into 10-15 minute videos.
Man this ride ruled when I first went to Universal in 07 but I wished this ride stayed
It’s actually a special effects show and not a ride.
I remember after the ride shut down, I was at universal with a couple friends. The cow was in the prop shop for about $4000. It was pretty sad to see it in there, but cool to touch. Someone bought it rather quickly.
Loved the video. For a field trip last year, me and my friends rode the Jimmy Fallon ride first thing when we got in the park. As a younger child I went to Universal Orlando and was terrified of Twister, mostly because I didn’t like storms. When we went on the field trip I didn’t realize the ride was replaced until after we left the park. I had no idea it was replaced by Jimmy Fallon until I watched this video.
Ok, twister may not hold up as they used to...
But jimmy fucking Fallon. WHY? HOW? Who thought that was a good idea?
I got two words for you: fuck comcast.
Should be a THE TONIGHT SHOW: JAY LENO vs CONAN O BRIEN
Now I want to watch twister I loved that movie growing up I would have loved to have been able to see it in the parks but at least I can still see the movie!
Still a guilty pleasure of mine, will stop whatever I'm doing to watch it if I find it on cable.
Thanks for this channel man, theres very few youtube videos i can watch that are more then ten minutes, very good stuff keep it up
Thank you Ajarmetta, appreciate the kind words! We try our best to keep the videos short enough with enough info to still keep it entertaining.
This is one of the things to go back in time to - experience *_Twister: Ride it Out_* at Universal.
Also race through New York is lame.
Very lame, what happens if he gets replaced in a few years?
I was able to ride twister and loved all the visuals and physical props and was great on showing what twisters can do, I have rode the Jimmy Fallon ride and its ok ,tho I think it's better than the fast and furious ride.
hopefully they replace it with a ride that's actually original and good.
I actually got a neck ache from riding race through New York
Twister was very boring
Excellent vlog brought back some good memories, many thanks for down loading .
Thank you so much Mike!
I was always a fan of this one. I loved that movie when I was younger, and I have a soft spot for paxton. Last time I rode it was just before it closed, and I knew it was gonna be soon since nobody was on it. Going to these parks is more special after realizing that the attractions are usually temporary. Makes you really go on whats important in case it isnt there next time
I still have my little make a tornado souvenir and a keychain from this ride. I loved it.
i used to have a water bottle that was shaped like a twister that i got from a concession stand or something near the ride. Dont know what happened to it.
Rode this when I was a kid and goddamn did it scare the shit out of me. Watching this now I can really appreciate everything. That lit fire following the gasoline trail is crazy fucking cool.
When I want on this I was about three all of it was amazing I wasn’t scared by the entirety off it except the end when the bar drops down
OUT OF ALL OF THAT A BAR SCARES ME
11:29 my wife and I visited USO a few years before this was shut down. We’d eaten a few weed edibles. Bill Paxton’s deadly serious acting in the intro made us laugh so hard that we couldn’t breathe. God bless that man, gone too soon.
I remember this movie terrified me as a kid I honestly didn’t know they had an experience till I seen this video and it makes me sad that I missed out on this classic Universal is the best tbh 💜
WAS A REALLY GOOD MOVIE IN THEATER, NEW ADVANCED SOUND TECH REALLY MADE IT COME TO LIFE IN SCREEN
Oh boy. As someone who experienced a tornado not 50 feet away from me in a bus, I still can't talk on the legitimacy of the ride because the absolute PANIC you feel when you see a tornado that close is life changing.
Can you do an episode on the Men in Black ride?
MIB: Alien Attack has been added to the list, thank you for your suggestion Dylan.
I cried Wen this was close
Coming here again after the podcast. Much love ❤️
Been following since close to the beginning. Hoping to attract new people 👍🏽
7:32 I thought a dog was barking outside lol
Twister Ride it Out was one of the best ride ever since 1998 and the movie is the best movie of all time. I miss Bill Paxton in Twister
I remember going on this with my grandpa crying but still having a good time it was great
It was terrifying the first time I went on it because I had no clue what was going to happen. I think the worst was either the huge fire at the end or when the roof fell back down. That was the worst!
God... I miss this ride so much.
Even though it scared the piss outta me as a kid.
this was one of my favorite things to do at universal, love this movie so much and brings back such good childhood memories of visiting with the family. Always considered it damm impressive that they could again and again replicate that feeling of being in a tornado and what the actors experienced, so damm cool. Alas theme parks seem to be set on getting rid of actual good shows and rides... so there is that. i miss the good old days
also... bill paxton a film legend. rip
universal and islands of adventures still have plenty of damned good rides though some of my favorites like T2 and Back to the future are now gone.
I loved the practical effects and general goofiness of this “ride.”
And Bill Paxton who I’ve loved for years
*they call F-5 tornadoes the Finger of God.*
Man I really love your videos! I've always wondered the history of Men In Black: Alien Attack! i think that'd be an interesting episode since i haven't seen anyone else do it before
Thank you Tenara-kun for the kind words! MIB: Alien Attack has been added to the list, thank you for your suggestion!
I didn't personally like this show (just generally not a favorite in my family cause it's just the show, impressive as it is), but I'd take it over Jimmy Fallon, sheesh
Anything besides Jimmy Fallon.
Why the hate on Jimmy Fallon? He's an awesome artist & person. My sister went to Universal for the first time 2 weeks ago and rode it and she loved it! She loves NYC so much (although she has never been to NY).
Zerox A. M. Lol Jimmy Fallon is just lame in general tbh he was better in SNL but his show just sucks and making a random ride that’s just a tv screen is lame.
@@anonymoustoast5530 Jimmy Fallon is the most popular Late Night show host right now and my favorite of all time, great person and very funny. My sister went to Universal in november 2018 and she loved the JF ride, especially since she loves the NYC skyline and her dream is to visit NYC one day. Also, many rides there are just tv screens lol
Zerox A. M. Yea but there is like Jurassic Park The Ride and The Mummy and they didn’t even have to use tv screens. Also no not really Jimmy Fallon is a great person but isn’t funny at all with his new show, still used to be funny in SNL, but his whole show all of it is garbage CZcams games for celebrities and rarely even a talk show. Talk shows that are funny are more of Stephen Colbert, Trevor Noah, Conan, or like John Oliver.
I cried my ass off on this ride, but looking back on it, it was pretty fun.
Your videos are becoming some of my favorites! I can't wait to see your video on Kong(frontation).
Thank you very much Austin! We can't wait to get that video out soon!
I'm glad you slowed down a bit on your narration and video cutting. Your videos definitely improved. Keep up the good work
Thanks, this was the first video I ever did and oh boy, does it show!
A funny sidenote , I was standing on the street corner in front of the Aftermath gift shop, and Groucho Marx rides up to me and my partner on a bicycle and says, "I don't remember seeing you ladies working this corner before." We cracked up. What wonderful trip we had.
From an Oklahoman, they don’t use the Fujita scale anymore. They use the Enhanced Fujita scale, which takes into account the damage the tornados do in addition to the speed. The weakest knocking just leaves off of trees, and the strongest blowing houses down.
I didn't know that, thank you for the update! Here in NYC I'm pretty sure if you were ask anyone about the Fujita scale they would assume it's something to do with smoothies or something like that. We have no clue how lucky we have have it.
You’re lucky you rarely need it. Paxton wasn’t just hamming it up when he called an F5 tornado “the finger of God.”
Just trying to help keep people safe. If you live in tornado alley, you can’t afford to be ignorant about them.
Stay safe.
Back when this ride first opened up they were using The Fujita Scale. I know because I was hugely interested in tornadoes because when I was either 4 or 5 years old when I was living in Cincinnati Ohio me and my mom was in an actual tornado. I guess that's why I'm so much interested in tornadoes now.
Loved the movie & thought this was a pretty cool attraction, much better than jimmy fallon! 🌪🗽 R.I.P Bill paxton!
It's my guilty pleasure of a movie, whenever I find it on TV I'll stop whatever I'm doing and watch it. RIP Bill Paxton, left this world too soon.
With the upcoming standalone sequel 'Twisters' set to be released in July, I hope Universal decides to bring this attraction back but updated with new effects and show scenes if the film is a success.
Fun fact: When I first watched the trailer of Twister back in 2003 on CableTV ON Demand feature, the truck rolling right into the camera SCARED ME TO DEATH as a kid. Trailers back in the 1990s, 1980s, and Early 2000's use to be great to watch every time. Sadly, trailers these days don't much up of the past and instead have a music cue and too many thriller movies.
