It's hard to see this video and pass by without dropping my thoughts as a Nigerian. Saying I'm Nigerian these days comes with lots of very bad stereotypes. Nigeria has the largest young population in Africa of over 200million people with hundreds of languages and ethnicity. The country has a great number of intelligent people and the country itself is very rich in natural resources including an abundance in land. However, many people wallow in extreme poverty due to the country's weak structure and very corrupt system. I will say many Nigerians are very hard working and thrive to make an honest living but there are lots of challenging factors that cause especially young people to lose their minds and make bad choices. I do not justify stealing in any way but I know the scamming can be downsized if the country itself is less toxic. Being Nigerian at this time is a full time job. Many citizens are traumatized and their mental health is unstable. Nigerians will often make jokes out of their situations and laugh it off and make others laugh as well. But dip inside is a war going on which is traumatic. Many Nigerians need help not just physically but some sort of therapy.

Why are you wasting your time explaining nonsense to these MORONS ? ? Arab, is a one-sided and ignorant American storyteller. The REAL SCAMMERS are America and Europe that fraudulently scam BILLIONS OF DOLLARS worth of natural resources such as, oil, gold, bauxite, cobalt uranium, etc, out of African countries on a daily basis. But, they use media propaganda to FLIP THE SCRIPT and promote falsehoods about their EXPLOITED VICTIMS. This world has become something else, because we now have the PERPETRATORS OF FRAUD and SCAM referring to their victims as the SCAMMERS. Are you kidding me ? ?

Then your entire population needs to protest to get rid of them and bring in a new government. Everyone can't all be arrested if you all band together. If 200,000 Romanians were able to oust their government by all walking off their jobs in protest, then thousands of Nigerians should try to do the same. There's always power in large numbers.

@@thefifaonlinecompetitionhu5696 I remember that, and the Nigerian police force tried to clean up the massacre with street sweepers and picking up all their bullets. My condolences to those who lost loved ones. However, In the age of the internet and cellphones...nothing can be hidden. Sadly, the Lekki massacre didn't reach the news far and wide around the world when it should have. Government documents got leaked by employees that finally had enough of the corruption. There really is power in numbers though. The Nigerian military would never get away with that again. This is why investigators and journalists are much needed. Spy on govt. and police, catch them on video doing corruption, get it out to the world and start making a change. To just accept the corruption, is weak, but to do something about it, will start the changes to happen. Stealing from people around the world only shows the weakness and acceptance of your government. You feel if your government can do that to the people then it's okay for the people to do that to the rest of the world. That's a mindset that needs to stop. Scammers there are really making your country look bad. Really bad. 😕

The jobs that are there pay like $60 to $100 a month for most of them and you basically have to bribe your way to getting a job. I know it from experience being there and given I have a girlfriend there. Heading back in a few months. So a lot of them resort to scams and bribery to survive. If he is making $2000 per month, then that is more than
double, what an average Nigerian makes per year. He is making
more than he needs to support himself and his family.
Instead he should invest a small portion of that money,
into a side hustle, and earn his own money without having to do
    these scams.

I don't think he makes 2k dollars a month bcos he would not have even thought of doing the video call for 500 dollars

Hey bro, thanks for sharing this video with us.
I must admit, I'm not proud of the guy's actions as a fellow Nigerian. It's disheartening. However, I want to commend you for being a man of your word and fulfilling your promise to him. By doing so, you might have prevented him from losing trust in others and resorting to even more scamming. Hopefully, this experience will teach him the value of honesty and deter him from scamming people in the future. As he himself admitted, it would have hurt him deeply and made him very angry if you hadn't kept your word.
    Thanks again, bro!

It’s easy to say as a privileged American that it’s wrong, but if we were in his shoes a lot of people would do the same.

What do u mean privileged American? As an African I tell you that it is a choice...not everyone living in his situation in Nigeria will end up a scammer..

@@Afrorack 100 percent, but I’m saying if we were in his position which is probably poor since he is scamming for money, most people would scam if they had the opportunity
