That was pretty much mine. Built a custom workstation with water cooling loop (64-core CPU, 2 2080 graphics cards), fancy quiet fans, multiple radiators, the works so I could use it for work without jobs taking forever or the fans sounding like jets on takeoff. But all the games I also have on it need none of that.

Okay hear me out: A console wars episode featuring an Xbox One being labeled defective and thrown in a dark pit. Pre built PCs have become cheaper nowadays. But knowing how to change its components is useful.

Its not about the price, its about the value, and if you want that, you have to build yourself
Even if you know, prebuilt PCs MB and components are so shitty that you can't really upgrade it that much because of MB and PSU limitations. You'll have to rebuilt most of it if you want to upgrade.
I've never played pc, but I'm thinking that a pre built is perfectly fine, especially if you're starting out and need something to practice on before investing a lot more on a custom job.
As a PC master race I can confirm this is all true we make bad decisions all the time.

And they're always literally only 1.5 miles away!

Typical things - you start with consoles and love it. Eventually start earning more money and buy a PC, buy all those old games you used to love and then just never play them.
Occassional new game comes out that I play on PC, but I still prefer my PS5 and Switch.

Not really, they just refuse to pander to youtubes bs that doesn't work anyway. There's a reason why the sponsors are going more towards the creators, not only is it cheaper but it practically guarantees the target audience at least sees it.
Being advertiser friendly just kills the platform tbh. Many channels feel like watching cable tv again with all the needless censorship

These days building your own rig just means you save like 50 or 100 bucks back in the day it could save you 500 or 1000 because so many pre-built companies jacked up the price on everything and used proprietary parts

You would need a NASA super computer for 8K 240fps gaming.
I've achieved 600 soft FPS on a 4k resolution. The TV itself actually maxed out at 60, but the point still stands. The game in particular is neverwinter nights from 2002, but it still achieved the FPS while having all graphics at maximum. So if I had a TV/monitor which could actually display 240 FPS at 8k that game could probably do it on low graphics settings.@@SirDankleberry
@@setcheck67 I got about 250 fps at 2K with Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and Revelations. I more meant with newer games at that fps and resolution.

To be fair you already can play games at 8k 240 fps, it just won't be the New games. But something like Half-Life 2 or even Black Mesa is definitely gonna run 8k 240 fps on 4090. I am sure that is not exactly what you meant, but technically 8k 240 fps gaming IS a reality now.
