  • This video is a bit different, we try filming a 'beyond the scenes' vlog on a Google Pixel 6 phone to see if we can still produce a half decent video as we explore two recently disused hospitals. Stay tuned for the proper cinematic video to come on the first place, and let us know if you think we should do more quick videos in this style in future.

As an ex BT engineer and building contractor, Ive been inside a lot of closed hospitals, including the old Brook Hospital at Shooters Hill, and Epsom Mental Asylum.
Very creepy...walking around those in the pitch dark!
    Great video lads!
    😊👍👍👍

Thanks for sharing, a very interesting watch as always...I'm a massive Pixel fan but the sharpness isn't quite as fine but still very watchable.

What an interesting bunch of buildings but as you say such an incredible waste.. Enjoyed watching the behind the scenes vlog, so often people don't see what goes into making documentaries. Can't believe you dodged that security 😆

Thanks folks, hopefully there'll be some more in future!

Great video guys! As you know we were using a Motorola G7 Power which had been dropped many times as our primary way of making videos, I think your Google phone looks leaps ahead of that but it shows what can be done when you want to explore on the fly 😀

I'm with you on the quality over quantity point. That said the quality of the Google pixel is pretty good and not a million miles from your usual output. Worth bearing in mind if your stuck somewhere with a flat battery. 😂 Happy exploring.

Thanks for this - good bit of feedback we're looking for! We will always prioritise quality over quantity but glad to know if we do any more like this they won't seem too out of place :)

Gotta love phone videos..well happy with my edits so far although I know I can improve loads still 👍👍 and phone cams are pretty good these days. Its convenient too means carrying less weight/kit etc..

Yeah you do a decent job with it, it does have its perks. Always worth weighing up the pros and cons of your kit - I think everything with exploring has to consider weight. You've gotta give that GoPro a go at somepoint too!

It's a shame they cannot do up the second visit and house the homeless in there so it gets them off the dangerous streets.

One wonders how the NHS afford to lose these buildings given the backlog they’re currently experiencing with doing medical procedures etc? Were they all too run down and irredeemable to renovation and repair?
Same with the military sites. Has the military just lost too many personnel so they don’t need them anymore? Maybe the powers at be should house all those who illegally cross the channel in these sites rather than hotels. Just a thought.
Really interesting guys. Thanks again for the sneaky peek views of abandoned buildings👍🏻

Its all about lawyers and litigation...
Local authorities and health authorities are constantly terrified that they are going to get sued.
So...they dont take any chances whatsoever, and if a building or road or whatever, looks even the slightest bit like its crumbling or deemed "unsafe"...they shut it down.
      Instantly.
