    I’m not going to pretend that I know all the ins and outs of FFP because I don’t. But I know that the rules should be the same for all the clubs in a league, which means if you take 10 points away from Everton for breaking rules, it’s fine. But do the same for Manchester City as well.

  • @kingfwogger
    @kingfwogger Před 6 měsíci +5

    Everton will make it out of the relegation zone regardless. The promoted teams are crap so they'll be fine. I think a 10 point deduction is deserved. Is it fair no. I would've struck both Everton and Man City because they broke the same exact rules. Judging by what Thogden said, the league should strike down City but obviously they haven't. Because a fine ain't enough these days.

    • @kingfwogger
      @kingfwogger Před 6 měsíci +1

      This isn't any hate to Everton or their fans or Man City and their fans, but rules are there and they have to be put in place. Like I said, a fine ain't enough since that could easily be paid off and so a point deduction for both Everton and Man City is the right move.

    I do feel sorry for Everton though, the points deduction should have been suspended pending the outcome of other clubs who broke the rules...
    The only problem with Man City, is there owner can potentially wrap the EPL up in Court action for years to come, he is probably richer than the rest of the Premier League (bar Newcastle) combined...
    Its yet again, one rule for the big boys while the rest have to suffer, Everton can claw those ten points back and stay up this season...

    As a city fan, I agree evertons punishment is too far, however ur questioning of why Everton were charged before us is obvious, our case is far bigger than there’s, also they admitted they committed the crime so the process was easier and quicker, city have 115 charges (larger case) and have 100% denied all the charges unlike Everton, so I don’t see any issue with evertons verdict coming before ours, it makes sense

    • @janicenascimento9625
      @janicenascimento9625 Před 6 měsíci

      Well..that was arrogant. Even if Everton was quicker, but man city has 115 charges and denying, but still being investigated. During the investigation period, there should have been restrictions for city until the final decision has been made: 10 point deduction, a ban from UCL participation until the investigation is completed no matter how much time it takes. Anything to that effect because this is unfair for Everton.

  • @jakemroz9869
    @jakemroz9869 Před 6 měsíci

    You said it in the beginning. Chelsea and Man City have far bigger revenue streams and it has a huge impact on the financial fair play rules and regulations. Everton spent enormous amounts on terrible players, didn't finish close to their targets in the league table (where you finish in the PL table has huge financial implications), and built a stadium that they consequently couldn't afford. It's nothing like Man City or Chelsea's circumstance. It's fine focusing on the top sides and claiming some sort of ill-conceived injustice, but how would it sit with the likes of Luton or Burnley if Everton knowingly broke rules and got away with it?

  • @bi1bo

    I think it's a little bit too early to say that Everton are going to be relegated as a result of this point, deduction.
    They are currently second bottom, but are level on points with Sheffield United and are just one point behind Luton and we are still a good few games away from the halfway point of the current Premier League season.
    Bournemouth and Fulham aren't really much further ahead either.
    Everton still have the possibility of making a League Cup final appearance, they are currently in the quarter finals with a tie against Fulham before Christmas.
    But they might have to release a few older fringe players who are probably on high wages such as Dele Alli.

    • @symezgaming
      @symezgaming Před 6 měsíci +2

      TLDR = sanction is too harsh as Portsmouth got a 9 point deduction for going into administration on 2010
      The sanction is too harsh though. its the biggest ever punishment in the PL and it was for going 20m over PSR. maybe 6 would've been fair. 10 is way too much because of previous deductions we've seen. Since becoming the Premier league this is the 3rd point deduction to a club, the first was a 3 point deduction for Middlesbrough in the 96/97 season for postponing a game a too short notice, the second was a 9 point deduction for Portsmouth in the 09/10 season for going into administration, and obviously this is the third. So Everton are getting a bigger deduction for going 20m over PSR than Portsmouth for literally going into ADMINISTRATION.
