      Brandon Ayong for what reason though he hasn’t won anything and we know when he gets money to spend he cracked under pressure and got sacked. Compare Ole and Klopp stats after 100 games and you’ll see Ole has a better win percentage. You can say “Klopp didn’t have money to spend” he inherited a Liverpool side from Rodgers that almost won the league. So Ole deserves time it’s just the media that always want to focus on United cause we gain clicks. No one talked about Leicester 5-2 Mancity as much as the 6-1 to Spurs.

      @4th Genna - Rayan Cherki The GOAT Pochettino made Spurs relevant without spending huge amounts of money. The club that if you said in 2014/2015 that would be a regular top 6 side challenging for a title you would get laughed at in your face. The club did not provide him any financial support like other managers from top 6 clubs recieved, yet he still managed to make them relevant in England as well as in Europe. if his next club provides him the players that he actually wants, there's no doubt he's gonna do great things, because he's a fantastic manager.Over the past 6 years Tottenham finished above arsenal 4 times. Arteta is already described as a better manager yet he finished 8th with the club in the league. Yes, he won cs and fa cup, but is that good enough to call him better than Pochettino, who was constantly playing champions league football over the past couple years without that big of a financial support.

    I've been saying, Poch is actually overachieving at Spurs because what he's actually supposed to do INITIALLY is to build the team to be contenders and to just hang on to top 4, and then when he overachieved the expectation becomes a lot higher, from the fans and especially from the board. So I think that's why they decided to part ways with Poch (also remembering that he struggled a lot last time) and recruited Mourinho to put a statement in which they are ready to actually win something. To put it simply, Poch taught them to DARE, Mourinho will teach them how to actually DO.

    The kind of spending the club is willing to do tells us about their ambitions. I think Spurs can't be considered to be in the top 6 if all they have is a rich owner who only cares about income, even bringing Bale into the squad this season feels like a PR stunt to get the fans excited and wasn't really made to help the team in anyway because the real money was needed to solve the defensive issues we have right now.

    In my opinion what Utd need is not necessarily spend insane amounts straightaway, something that they have failed on several occasions. Yes quality players wins trophies but the correct mindset changes the dressing room and regardless who comes in, they'll come in and follow what project is there. What Pochettino done at Espanyol, Southampton and Spurs should be understood and recognised because in those achievements, yes he failed to win trophies as a manager, but he completely elevated the standard of all those clubs.

  • @joewhite4456
    @joewhite4456 Před 3 lety

    Maybe it has something to do with the fact nearly every player he bought in flopped under him.
    Or maybe it has something to do with the fact when he was given money to spend he wasted his whole budget on ndombele and sessegnon when we were desperate for full backs.
    Or maybe it has something to do with the fact we never won anything under him, the other clubs fund their managers because they know that'll bring in trophies eventually.
    If you look at Liverpool over the last five years they've got a lower net spend than we did in the five years under poch and what do they have to show for it? Champions League, premier League, club world cup, supercup.
    At the end of the day poch constantly resisted selling players to fund more transfers but that's how clubs progress. Just look at Liverpool, they sold coutinho and reinvested the money perfectly, whilst at spurs poch continually refused to let eriksen go when he was wanted by the big clubs, and in the end all he got was an extra year of him barely trying and lost at least £30 million of sale value on him.
    Every club does that to reach the top apart from those with oil money. Even Leipzig, one of the biggest up and coming clubs in world football have sold arguably their best two players in the top flight in Werner and keita and they're doing better every year despite that.

    Poch rejected multiple signings including Tielemans and Asensio. The narrative that Levy simply wouldn't spend is just false. Levy wasn't going to spend large amounts on new signings while the stadium was being built but he couldn't force Poch to accept signings he felt were affordable for the club so they didn't sign anyone. Poch is partially to blame for the transfer mess but looking back, the transfer mess might have been a good thing. Few people seem to understand how delicately Spurs' financial situation had the be handled while transitioning to the new stadium. Construction delays and paying rent to use Wembley cost a lot of money but in the end, the transition went smoothly. It could have just as easily gone much worse. With a construction project of that scale, delays can last a long time. Looking back, it wasn't out of the realm of possibility for the stadium to have still been delayed until last spring. Spurs would be facing major financial hardship right now if the stadium hadn't been completed before COVID hit.

    The thing about Spurs in the last 18 months under Poch was that, CL run aside, we didn't play particularly well. The belief that we played attacking football was a complete nonsense. It was very side to side and very frustrating to watch. I'm a season ticket holder btw.
    However this is all down to the fact that we didn't sign a single player until the last window we had (when we got Ndombele and Lo Celso). I suspect that Levy maybe didn't trust him with the money (Janssen, NJie, Nkoudou, Stambouli).
    As for whether he would suit Utd. The jury is out for me. It's pretty clear that there are problems upstairs - maybe Mourinho was actually hard done by there.
