- Ergo Proxy's intro sequence edited with additional scenes to fit the full song length of Kiri by Monoral, which is the official OP song. This video is fan-made and I tried to make it look like an intro. I threw in a funny scene in the end.
I don't think I'll ever get sick of this song and the anime's intro sequence. XD Ergo Proxy has great animation and visuals even though it gets quite dark at times.

i can agree ,even though i'm from 2001 ,i have to agree that most of the animes i watch are these mid 2000's shows,from 2004 to 2012,it was an golden era ,as far as im concerned.

don't sleep on the 1997 berserk anime. it's kinda rough around the edges but if you like dark, deeply introspective thought provoking melancholy animes 1997s berserk is top tier. it's so much more than big man with big sword.

RageDrakax well its old, and its great, the story is also a unique one here, will take you atleast a couple of times watching the whole series to understand it, the anime has a certain vibe to it, the animation is also pretty unique for its time, certainly a underappreciated series.

don't you be insulting my harem/ecchi/fantasy. those anime have way more opai than this anime, and way less clothing than most of these characters. not to mention the plots revolves around girls undies and how to get in them. This show has way more plot and psychological warfare that makes you think, but it will never hold a candle to the poor written fan service that we call anime today.

There’s just something about anime that was produced in the early to mid 2000s that has a special touch to it. Ergo Proxy is one of those shows. I really loved this series when I first watched it, I may not have understood what was going on sometimes and there were some points were I almost gave up on it. However I made it to the end and I’m glad that I did bc in MY OPINION it’s a very unique anime and there has been nothing like it since. Ergo proxy is definitely on my list of my all time favorite anime’s along with NGE, Serial Experiments Lain, Cowboy Bebop, DN and Berserk 97
The early 2000s were a different time indeed. People put their all into everything they did and people were more chill and laid back. You could actually walk down the street at night and not have to worry about a drug fiend possibly jumping you and in the day you could strike up a conversation with any random joe and not worry whether you offended them or might offend them cause the topic didn't fit their political narrative. In short politics has ruined everything!
90s anime kicked the door down so 2000s anime could invade (not to denigrate 80s anime but it was a much smaller market with a couple standouts)
It's comment sections like this that brings a smile to my face because it makes me realize that I'm not the only one who likes Ergo Proxy. I have yet to meet someone in person who loves anime shows like Ergo Proxy. At best, all I've met were anime fans that like Naruto, Bleach, Attack on Titans, Kuroko no Basket, Fairy Tail -- all the mainstream anime shows.

Here's to one of the most gut wrenchingly tragic moments in anime. You can hear it in the OP theme. Like a desperate cry to reach out and make something with some kind of meaning, relevance, social commentary, a strange gem among dozens of mindless copycat series all trying to do the same thing. It's the last we will ever see from the brilliant studio Manglobe. Tragic, beautiful, challenging but a series with a beating heart and soul made with love and almost forgotten, yet unforgettable. If you worked on this and ever read this, thank you. This was such a heartfelt series, and I just want you know to know it means something to me that you made this.

This anime is so life affirming, gives me the strength to keep moving forward…just like in the anime the world is so dark, but the character’s personalities bump into each other and clash, yet they make a spark that shines through.

When you realize there's no skip intro option in netflix for this anime. Such a beautiful art.
I recomment not watching anything on Netflix. Netflix will change the language (translation) so it fits the USoA narrative (racism, feminism, LGBTWhatever, etc.).
Netflix also changes some animation for that purpose.

Check out the 4-episode OVA Exaella. It is very little known, you probably have not seen it.
Just finished this anime today 9/10/2023 at 2:40AM. This show definitely left me with a lot of questions. And it was set up for a second season, but seeing as Ergo Proxy ended in 2006... No big chance of that happenind. Sigh. Well, I liked this show. It has a nostalgic quality to it, even though I've only seen it this year. Both the into and ending songs are just pure bangers. I like Re-L's design the most, though. I like her character too - and Pino was so cute
There is still a chance of 2nd season. Cardcaptor Sakura even got a new season after 20 years.
So, who knows? This may be the next in the works
@@erenyeagerist7681 unlikely, Manglobe closed in 2016. If the studio that formed in their wake still has the rights, maybe. Otherwise I think it'll be best to just leave us wanting more. I wouldn't want Ergo Proxy any other way.
