That's a great little kit! Even if it's not for emergencies. Having some cordage and tie wire can come in so handy for securing loads and such. I keep an old sleeping bag and tarp in my car as well when I can. Mostly for covering the seats when needed. But you never know..
So nice hearing from you and merry Christmas! :-)

Have some alternative/additional options for you.
"Can" replace the "can" with a Starbucks mylar coffee bag.
Go to Starbucks. They have HD mylar plastic ~2 gallon coffee bean bags. They throw these away. Ask for them from their throw away garbage. Excellent no weight , weather/wind/rain dry storage container. Use these for any typesof dry ,water-tight storage. Mule tough. Use for bear hang (coffee flavor covers food smells). Second set of dry or dirty clothes. Can use bag in sand pit near falmes/coals for heated hot water. Use as laundry washing container, dirty clothes, hot water, and soap, and shake for cleaning. Can also use as foot, hand, head space blanket dry warming bags. Use solar oven style open bag with filtered but unsterile water and UV irradiate and kills bugs for clean water (solar light and campfire heat). Wrap your food within and seal, keeping dry, and (hopefully) away from mice/critters.
Also Starbucks has their convention meetings bulk coffee carrying cardboard box and HD mylar plastic coffee bags. Snowwalker13 and I use these for water storage. Super tough, droppable, store water, and if frozen, container molds to water, doesn't break. Also can put near flames/coals, or in heated sand pit near flames/coals for hot water (laundry, wash water, hygiene, hot drink water). Fill up with snow and put into sun, or near flames for clean snow melt water. Heated water at night for a large hot water bottle in hammock or sleeping bag. Keep cardboard flat for paper frame of (above) solar oven, solar snow melt oven. These are the perfect mylar camelbaks keeping the water hot when hot, and cold when cold.
Two to four 50 gallon HD black plastic garbage bags with tie strings (2 per person). Maximum coverage for person (lower plastic sleeping bag, upper plastic poncho/sleeping bag). Can make into stream waders, sleeping bag, duct tape and tube tent, plastic wind shield/tarp, ...many other uses.
Zippo (my father's old hand/body/foot warmers) + Ronson/Zippo can of lighter fluid with BIC lighter, can always be a ready fuel and tinder source, but also a heat source when truly needed, up to 12 hours duration.
Enough extra room for winter wool cap(s), gloves, wool socks. Some emergency hard candies (energy), and hot water drink/soup mixes.

cool setup. Very functional and would come in handy if need be. I would add some tape in for shelter repairs and of course another C :D Since you have room, I would use the pen (tube) method as its has fast deployment. Maybe a pencil sharpener...
ill subb ... and check out more of the content :D TFS... C.R.

You should add in a small fishing kit and maybe some 22 ammo.
