    I'll save you 15 minutes. The law , bike needs head light , tail light , horn , one mirror , visible license plate can't be side ways with plate light. . Turn signals aren't required , unless the bike was manufactured with turn signals. If it came with them New. They're mandatory. Vin verification. Ones registered once. The registration needs to be present every year. So if you sell it to somebody. You need to give them the previous registration for them to maintain its street legal. Cheers

      Vermont works great too. All you need is a bill of sale “or write your own” and like $90... They’ll send you plates and registration then just take the registration to your DMV and they’ll get you a new title sent to your house. Works if you live in any state besides California that I know of.

    In the UK we can register a bike by getting a daylight / summer time M.O.T. All that the bike needs is a tail / brake light and you're good to go. Only problem with that is you can only ride in daylight hours.

    Minnesota is pretty easy, just need a few things, but still stuck paying the DNR fee plus plate fee for dual registration. Also with a legal supermoto you don't get a title with the plate. This is next years project as the R1 don't go everywhere in lake of the woods county. Although a snowmobile is next on the list for winter, i'm done with 4 wheels and a heated safety cage. All toys from now on.

  • @1keykneedeep

    You should ride the bike - let the chain heat up and then lubricate the chain. Way less sling from the product and a deeper penetration into the links and rollers

  • @yourfacelookslikebut
    @yourfacelookslikebut Před 8 lety +14

    I don't know the specs for your bike in terms of chain slack but as of now it looks like you need a link taken out.....

    • @stotzmitchell
      @stotzmitchell Před 8 lety

      +poshstew It will tighten up when you put a load on the suspension

    • @yourfacelookslikebut
      @yourfacelookslikebut Před 8 lety

      yes of course it will tighten up when there's weight added (landing from a jump) but even then it still looks like there's too much slack that's definitely drooping about 2 1/2 inches if not more... but again I don't know the specs for his bike so that could be totally normal for his bike.

    • @River739
      @River739 Před 8 lety

      +yourfacelookslikebut He meant when someone sits on it the chain will get tighter

    • @yourfacelookslikebut
      @yourfacelookslikebut Před 8 lety

      again obviously it will get tighter with a load... him, cornering hard, going over a bump, landing from a jump etc.... on every bike i've worked on the slack is measured when the bike is up in the air meaning, on a bike stand with no load, and by no load that includes the weight of the bike itself....

  • @thenobleandmightybeaver4411

    In Ontario, Canada you can not make a bike street legal if it is not street legal stock regardless of what mods you add to the bike...which is ridiculous.

    Motonosity, your build series is awesome. Definitely helped me pull the trigger and build my own supermoto set up. I have a Brand new 2016 KX450f that I'm converting over. I'll post some videos up this weekend when I take it for its first ride. My problem is that I have some tight assholes at the DMV in Mississippi that wont give me a tag no matter if I have all the "legal" equipment it takes to get the bike road worthy. I have a buddy who lives in Austin, TX and I'm thinking of registering the bike in Texas. This is a 10hr trip for me so I want to make sure I have what it takes to pass the test. (1) Did your LED headlight pass? Did you need high/low beam capability? My headlight is almost identical to yours. (2) Did you have red reflectors? Any other minor things I need that aren't obvious besides the horn & taillight? Blinkers??

    In Finland making dirt bike street legal is very expensive. And it´s hard because Finland is "Country of laws." :D And if you want to make YZ 125 to street legal, you need to change frame number from DT125 to the YZ. In Finland motorbike licences are:
    Moped: max 50cc and maybe 3.5hp (15yrs old)
    A1: max 125cc and 11kw/15hp (all enduro and dirt bikes are like 25+ hp and police doesn´t care) (16yrs old)
    A2: min. 395cc and max 35kw (you can limit power from max 70kw bike) (18yrs old)
    A: min. 595cc and 40kw (you can drive all bikes) (20yrs old if you have A2 and if A is your first driving licence you can get it when you are 24 years old.)

    One of the best tips I got for cleaning the chain is to use one of those electric brushes that's kinda like a big toothbrush, but a heavy duty version. It's really meant for kitchen cleaning, but it makes cleaning the chain sooo easy. Zero effort.
    Check Amazon for SonicScrubber or JML Turbo Brush (same idea).
    I put SDOC100 on the chain. 5 minutes later "brush" the chain, rinse, job done :)

    Nice bike man! Is there a way to add a key system? or what do you have stopping someone from stealing it?

      There is a key system off a vending machine all I'd does is when the key is out it connects the kill switch
