bought this exact board after much deliberation and couldn’t be happier. Had my first rip in SLT after they got 82” over the weekend. It’s definitely not as floaty as you’d want for those conditions but still better than my twin and those days are pretty rare. like other comments TJ’s review is spot on. love the stiffness, extremely light, and the pop you get out of the camber on this thing gives so much energy. it’s so quick it’s crazy. only complaint is the board is pretty fragile i had a few small chips on the top sheet corners by back foot toeside just from a few days of riding. definitely need to take extreme care of this board but so happy to have it in the quiver
I rock the 19 model and its still the shit. Never catch edges and it floats in the POW!! Kills it on jumps too!
I have had this board for couple years and I love it! TJ’s review is very accurate 👍🏼🔥
Had this board since 2019, very accurate review. It is a reliable, precision missile for adventuring all parts of the mountain. Gives you the confidence to go down steep, techy runs and you feel locked in and safe at full tilt on the groomers.
Sound like what im after, did you feel it did alright in park as well?
@@frigofilmteam it's not a park specific board, but it's great over jumps and I've had fun with some boxes on it too.
Such a sick design on this board. Looks like it's a lot of fun to ride.
TJ! Your riding is getting so rad. Rodeo was so dope. Keep up the good work, love to watch!!!
Thanks Brendon!
Yet another awesome review...!
Making big moves TJ!!!
just bought the 20/21 model, great board
This board looks so sick in real life… I kinda want one just to look at 😂
I love this board, so much fun
I have literally only been on three snowboards in my nearly 20 years riding. I'd love to try out that many snowboards. I'd love to be able to ride as often also. My season is nearly over. But New Jersey is only four hours away with their indoor resort.
I got this one, awesome board
Beautiful board
I'm looking for a board mostly for tree runs, often tracked out by skiers in icy Sweden.
My Bataleon Goliath tomahawks sometimes when I turn at medium speed, and it just kind of felt "off" when I set the bindings back.
I also tried a 20/21 party wave and hated it. Too slow edge to edge and surfy.
Really like the designs on the Deep Thinker boards. But i am looking for a little bit of everything board🤔 I think i could do well with this board.
Hey TJ what are your thoughts about buying a B-grade snowboard do you have any exp on that? Can you do a video on that or share some thoughts about it?
Test the Ride Zero 2022 board! Ride made it a unisex board and it is a beautiful board and id love to see your review.
Hey Tj, have you tried bataleon bindings? If so which ones and how did you like them?
This or the Jones Stratos?!
Loved these reviews and thanks for putting them out!
would love an answer on this, both seem very competitive with each other
I have the stratos and fkn love it
I believe the Stratos is a little wider and therefore a better high angle carver. Maybe not quite as stiff as the Free Thinker. The slightly spooned nose & tail on the Stratos also give it a transitional smoothness (edge to edge) that works in both pow and groomers. I’ve on a 164w Stratos (6’-1”, 170, size 10).
I have this dilemma right now. I got the feel good on sale but it’s in the shorter side. 157. I have the Stratos 159 and have to make up my mind by my first day at whistler next week. I’m 5’11 160
Wondering what is the difference between deep thinker and the flight attendant because they do seem similar after watching the reviews on both. Would be awesome to hear your thoughts.
Great review. What's your boot size?
Saw another one of your videos on pow boards...what's your height and weight? I was surprised you chose a 147 for the Jones storm chaser when you normally ride a 155cm
Thanks for the review TJ! this or the Dancehaul? All Mountain/Freestyle with powder and trees here and there.
I’m wondering the same
I have the OG Deep Thinker but it snapped in half in Kirkwood 😢
Great review. Due to the slightly shifted volume, would you recommend sizing down? I usually run a 153/4 (outsiders) for park and resort riding and a 157 (mercury) for freeriding and side country. Would a 154 deep thinker be a solid fit for something in between those two that could still be rideable in deep and steep? Thanks for any input you can provide.
I have a 157 deep thinker. It’s not a typical volume shifted board. It’s a directional version of free thinker. The board runs the same widths under both feet at the stance reference points and has the same waist width as the free thinker. As mentioned in the review it rides pretty solid in switch because of this geometry. I wouldn’t recommend sizing down on this board as its more tapered than volume shifted.
Im curious on the burton adventure how many boards did you try? And is burton looking to supercharge any of their boards to get in with this trend of taking their more popular models and then tailoring the construction to more advanced riding techniques and terrain?
Late on this comment, but they’ve already started doing this with the custom and hometown hero in the past
Could you do a comparison between the Deep Thinker, Flight Attendant and the Hometown Hero?
Did you have the chance to test the Jones Mind Expander to compare with the deep thinker? Thanks!
For how many years is this snowboard unchanged, except the graphics?
I have the Nitro Fintwin, Ride Twinpig, Stranda treesurfer, Capita DOA, Jones Hovercraft, Jones Aviator and the Burton Deep thinker and this is the one I like the least!
Trying to decide between this and the Burton flight attendant . Any suggestions??
Does this 2022 version feeel different then a version from 2018 , you tested them both ?
Will my bindings and boots be too stiff for this board (Bataleon Astro Full Wrap and Burton ION. Both from 2023)?
190 lbs, 6'2, US 11.5 - don't like the wide verios. Is it a Deep Thinker in 160 a good choice for me?
TJ, was that a front 7? Nice
Hi form İSTANBUL. You really helped me with this video for to be sure buy this board but i have still few questions, last season ı rode lib tech T rice PRO 161,5, this year i want to change this board, ı was between free thinker and deep thinker, i need something for all over the mountain, sometimes we are jumping in to the forests, i dont go to park so except park, I am 6,23 ft, 209 lbs and 12 size for boot. ı have decided to buy deep thinker 160 w. İ would like to be happy if you can reply me. Thank you very much in advance.
FreeThinker next?
Just ordered this board on Friday. Stoked! It will be replacing my 2013 Burton Barracuda. Can't believe I got 9 seasons off that board averaging 30 days a season. I think I just forgot to buy a new board cause it ripped. Ha!!!
I feel you! I just ordered one as well, to replace my 2007 forum ha!😂
I know someone who has a Danny/Gonz deep thinker and free thinker
switched fdrom a libtech to this and it has been bad, only good for powder. Terrible in the tight trees. rides like a school bus. The libtech rides like butter compared.
