    I have to say that this is one of the easiest synths I’ve ever programmed. It took me about 10 minutes to learn the UI, I think it’s kind of genius how it’s laid out. Also everything can be mapped to CC, which if you’re buying a desktop synth then you should have a good midi controller to begin with. Also it sounds so good! You guys knocked it out of the park and the haters just don’t know the true pain of menu diving (looking at you Waldorf Blofeld).

      Ok, we do not want to fool anyone by saying its an easy UI. That is why we made this tutorial. But if you work with it for like 30 minutes, it becomes dead simple.

      @@Dreadbox-synths I think you did a great job and the UI is pretty darn simple. Just having a little fun with some of the folk complaining. • @valdir7426
    @valdir7426 Před 8 měsíci +3

    I love the synth but there's one quality of life thing I would like to see added in a firmware update. The main problem in the UI is the lack of feedback; you simply don't know where your values are specially when you load a patch. If you use the jump mode you'll have; well; jumps and it's not great as it will change your sound abrubtly; so I use the catch mode.
    So to the point; I'd like for a led to blink when I match the actual value of the parameter with the fader (a feature that exist on other synths); this could be the save led as it's not used for sound editing and it would make sense. This would dramatically improve the interface as you could now easily find where the stored value is (specially for modulation value where it's often tricky just from ear). I'd also like some kind of indication for the LFO speed but that seems a bit harder to do from this interface (maybe for LFO2). I like there's already a form of feedback from leds in the menus, you could just expand on this idea.
    Really like the synth; still thinking on ways to make the experience better from some kind of max4live / touch OSC companion

    since there is no manual yet, is there a way to know the value of the parameters when you press or depress shift? so every time you move the faders after pressing shift you will not change an unknown value?
    also, does the fader have some kind of "pick up mode" so parameter will not jump after preset change or switching in and out the shift parameters?
    Thanks!

    One of my favourite things about the Typhon is that the patch loading / previewing is seamless and does not interrupt the jamming process - you just scroll through the patch list and you hear them immediately. Does the Nymphes behave in a similar fashion or do you need to manually load (with a delay between selecting and loading) each stored preset before you can hear it?

    • @Dreadbox-synths

      I think different flashing patterns could easily solve this problem and would be in keeping with the synth's UI / UX paradigm.

    • @valdir7426
      @valdir7426 Před 8 měsíci +1

      you can preview the sound; so if when you short press load you get the same sound as when you long press load you'll know no user preset is saved here. What I'd do is before working on a patch I'd locate an empty slot this way. You can also preview sounds without loading them (long press menu to cancel) so when in doubt you can try to locate a sound you're sure you don't want to keep. I agree some different flashing patterns could help; it take me quite some time (and a sysex dump) to realize there was no pre-recorded patches on the user slots and that loading a user patch when there was no recorded simply loads the factory patch.

    Sound examples are totally overrated. We just need a sales dude telling the world how cool the synths feature are...I'm going to sample the voice of the spokeshypster and see what I come up with in a mix until we're going to hear some real demos that show little more than the narrow patch-spectrum currently available on YT. Whats your problem? Show us what Nymphes is capable of in a "no talk" , no BS presentation. We buy gear for the sound and not based on marketing talks. For a little extra on top of the price of Nymphes I can get myself a Moog Subharmonicon and beside that there are plenty of analog boutique Synths outhere in the nymphes price range. Convince people with a range of sounds and not with a range of talks. Btw, your utterly embarassing cringe gloves dont make things up for the missing sound...
