I'm not lying when I say I literally cried watching this video! I have lived in Pittsburgh my whole life but, recently moved to Salt Lake City about 3 months ago. You seriously went to some of my favorite spots, B52, Aptheka, and the Zenith?! You guys rock!

I was born and raised in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh. I enjoyed the piece you did on Lawrenceville. My dad's family (the McLeods) are originally from Canada.
Oh yes!!! I love 💕 Pittsburgh. I lived there for one and half year. I fell in love with the city the first day itself. Lot to explore, lot of restaurants, amazing views within the city 🌃 , fall colours & crazy winter, greenery & fauna, people are nice & welcoming, good cleanliness & well maintained. Cost of living is affordable. You can feel homely there. People are very much into the sports & they love their teams. Downtown is not huge but it is nice & downtown view from mount Washington is amazing. Lot of history. Love Pittsburgh.Unfortunately, because of job transfer I had to move to San Jose, CA and I am not liking San Jose at all. I hope I can come back to Pittsburgh & live there for many more years to come.
It is such a great city! I hope you get to move back or at least have San Jose change for the better.

I haven't been to Pittsburgh since before you were born, and your great video brought back flashes of the rivers, the Pirates, the Penguins (Sorry about your Maple Leafs) ;-) and especially the food! There are tons of emigrated Slovenians there (one of the second-generation offspring is perhaps the most influential State Legislator in Pennsylvania is yet another Markosek, Joseph, who has served Allegheny County since the 80s. He has done a lot for his constituency, and is one of the few honest politicians I know, LOL! Anyway, I LOVE YOUR VIDEO! FYI, I'm going to PM you the title of a book you might want to read if you haven't done so already. It's related to another of your videos, and it is quite thought provoking regarding the arts. My wife has this doll that her absentee father gave her when she was a kid, that she has kept and it has a certain extreme sentimental value. My kid was messing with it and popped the head off. $100 to have it put back on. The Teddy bear hospital in Lawrenceville does good work I have to give them that.

I got so excited when I saw Apteka! Thats one of my favorite places to go eat while Ive been living in Pittsburgh. I came from a smaller town where I am looked down on for being vegan and it is the most amazing thing to go to a place that really embraces it
Aw I love that! Apteka was so good and I was honestly quite surprised how many amazing and inventive vegan places there were in Pittsburgh. Such a great city.

I had the luck to live many years in Pittsburgh: wonderful people and a city once voted the most livable in America. Those that have the totally outdated view that this is a smoky steel town should know it is the HQ of some of the biggest corporations in America, is a university town with some 100,00 students and a leader in tech and robotics. I worked for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, founded in Colonial times. A blockhouse , where George Washington no doubt inspected, still stands. A great sports town, a city of many, many ethnic groups.
One thing that I love about Pittsburgh is that it only gets 160 days a year of sunshine , that leaves 205 days of gloomy , gloomy weather where you can stay inside and stuff yourself with pirogies and yingling.....

Thanks for your nice video on Pittsburgh! I live here and I think daily life here isn't great. It is a nice city to visit, but definitely not to live. My boyfriend lives in Toronto, so we go back and forth when we can haha Toronto is beautiful! It's the biggest city I've ever seen and it was so much fun :) The fun seemed endless there, the nightlife was wonderful, and it seemed a lot more cultural. But still, you did a lovely video!

Well, Downtown is really cool if you want to see the Detroit Power Statue and the Statue of Joe Louis' Fist. Also, going to the Belle Isle Park is pretty great, but it's more of a you have to be there to enjoy things.

I live in Belgium. Been there for the 1st time in '15 because I am a fan of the Penguins. I loved the city right away. Made a few Friends from Pittsburgh and been back 3 times more. It's a place were I will keep going back to . Only positieve things to say about it! I love the city and its people!

At some point I hope you're going to Philly. I'm moving there in May. I recommend Rittenhouse Square and the Reading Terminal Market, and you know about the Art Museum, the Kimbal Center, and the Academy of Music. Re Pittsburgh, the vibe has been much better since it was transformed into a tech and medical center. You probably know that PA is Philadelphia and Pittsburgh with Alabama in the middle.
Alina - where in Canada do you recommend we Pittsburghers visit?
All depends what you are looking for! As far as big cities go Toronto is my absolute favorite and Vancouver is of course beautiful as well, but I highly recommend just going in the summer. The province of British Columbia is usually the first pick for seeing the amazing nature Canada has to offer, but going more remote up north to the Yukon is also an amazing experience. Montreal (our largest French speaking city) would also be fairly close to Pittsburgh and definitely worth a visit!

I'm like 2 yrs behind, but just saw your video. I'm from the burgh myself (just moved to Austin TX however).. and watching your video really makes me miss home. It's definitely a unique city. And that one restaurant you were talking about with the fish on the wall.... I have NEVER been there and I want to try that place out so bad now. Little hard with me being a couple thousand miles away now though. Ugh! lol
