Sounds to me that Grace might have lost someone, be it another horse or her person, and was grieving when they first got her.
She does seem like a mare that might have lost a foal. Guess we’ll never know for certain tho.
@@CreativaArtly Yeah, sometimes we don't. I wonder if they investigated, when they got that horse. It wasn't mention in the video.
@@CreativaArtly She does indeed, i doubt it was a person she lose, but perhaps her foal, kinda like how a goose goes into depression if it lose a partner.
People understimate what those brave animals have been throught, it takes patience and love to recover from their loss.
You're so right...that's it! She was grieving a loss (horse or human)... now, I see the signs + understand...
Really brings home the fact that how deeply horses feel + interconnect w/us and other animals...So appreciate your post. TY!
💞🐎🧍♀️🐴🧍♂️🐎💞
That was the thought I had, too. She justs seemed to be looking for someone. She wasn't interested in the first herd because her friend was not in it. She was more in tune with the second herd, I think, because she recognised some or all of them. Maybe her friend wasn't there but she is smart enough to know that her friend found another home. Or maybe it was the whole herd she was looking for and this was it.
Nothing as heart warming as rescued animals being treated right!!!
Thank God, there are good people. The thoughts about what they went through to be in such conditions tears my heart apart everytime.
Yeah it’s the best feeling ever knowing they have a good home after everything they go through. My sister just adopted a cat that was abandoned and she gets along well with my dog it’s so cute and it makes me so happy to make a loving home for them.
Very much agreed.
Grace would be happy with her new home 🏠 Animals are loving nature, gentle and adorable 🌹 Therefore please treat them with love and kindness 💚
Absolutely right ! I am soooooo happy that these innocent creatures are finding the loving homes they deserve .🥰

SCOTT❕❗️
My gosh, Scott (from O.A.T.S.) you’re a HERO.
This is making me cry. I live in Seattle, WA. My older sister (passed 7yrs ago) was physically and mentally developmentally delayed and animals (also babies) were a tremendous joy for her. Many people, with their babies, would be scared of her. For example, in the grocery store, my sister would try to reach out and say hi but mom’s with their kids would pull away, undoubtedly crushing her a bit every time… just like how the kids at school, and everywhere in life, would treat her.
This program and Men like Scott gave JOY, true, pure, undeniable, reliably kind, meaningful, experiences for her.
I can’t even finish typing this, I miss her and this is hard to talk about, but thank you (ANYONE) who’s kind to people with disabilities.
It means the world.
The absolute world.
❤
…And thank you Grace 🙏
Your beautiful soul is the light of many people’s lives. ✨💫🙏
@carley7184 Thank you. I never consider myself to be a hero. And you have such a beautiful story too. If you're curious about my horse journey, you can see a lot of it on my channel. Though I tell it without words.
Anyway, a little update about Grace. I had to change her name to Liberty as we had just adopted a Grace just before her. She has a favorite rider who is severely handicapped a I taught Liberty to stand very still while it takes 3 people to get hom mounted. She does very well for him.
However, I am no longer at OATS. I nearly ended my horse journey when I left. Now nobody knows the talents and gifts I have or even that thongs like this 👆🏼 ever happened.
@@scotthovind Sir, I don't know if you'll ever see this but have to say, I was touched by what you wrote. If that 'door closing' (at oats)was hurtful to you, I am so sorry.
I look at this change as a change of season; your season with oats was finished - now a new season will begin, one even better. You know the talents and gifts you have, others you've helped do as well - and God knows! He created you!!! Please know that you are utterly and completely loved by God and that He has an amazing and wondrous plan for your life!!!
Grace has all the classic symptoms of being a recovering Amish workhorse. Worked to death, not really much by way of kindness in her former life, not understanding much English. She looks like she’s making great strides. Congratulations Grace! May your days be long & your pastures always green!
Poor Grace she's been through a traumatic event and is recovering. So good she has a new forever home and a job. She is a sweetheart.
After I get done, watching the news, watching the world fall apart, watching mly be loved country under attack; I come to the dodo so I can wash all that negative stuff out of my brain.
Thank you, Dodo, for bringing such a healing channel to not only animals but human beings as well.
everyone always talking about the memory of an elephant.. but horses and donkeys get a memory and never ever forget.. and if they have trust..it may fade but returns.. to see this animal learn to trust is absolutely beautiful and her health will reflect it, without stress that is harmful if not deadly..
That gentleman is a " horse whisperer!" Grace looks loved at both homes. Lucky lady.
Grace is such a beauty !!!
Scott has been a blessing to our organization. He treats every animal with compassion and respect. He has brought our herds an amazing gift of understanding and working with each horse, donkey and our mascot pig. He is a beautiful soul.
@@ritaobrien2779 When he said she didn't exhibit 'nervousness or fear.' Scott is the Human Leader. She is following him.
@@ritaobrien2779 I am glad you have him to help you. I liked the idea that Grace was going to help handicapped people. He also called her a gentle giant.
@@Brucev7 exactly. Though not all humans can be a leader that are able to lead with confidence as well as gentle compassion. Scott definitely has the ability to soothe and be the leader.
I am Happy to say, Geace has settled very well. There have been training session that she has excellent with. Grace is now working with therapy clients as well as independent riders. Thriving and happy. We all love on her and know she is one very special girl.
She likes Scott’s voice.. she listens to his voice..she likes his energy I think.. they’re so in tune to stuff we don’t even notice..
This happened to pop up and it made me smile. I am an instructor at OATS, and can happily say Grace is thriving and one of the more popular horses on our farm. She carries a few of our clients with dignity. I personally look forward to having her in my classes. She is sweet and gentle, but most of all, she protects her riders with her heart.❤
When the volunteer and Grace touched foreheads I teared up instantly. So beautiful. Grace looked so happy to be at O.A.T.S
I loved that too, very touching, and Grace accepted it beautifully.

Yes, touched me too. Felt tears coming down my face. So glad she's in a forever home that loves him.
She found her calling, with the help of wonderful people.
I thought exactly the same thing, plus overcoming some bad experiences in the past, maybe...
But these beautiful people loved her back to life..."Love conquers all!"

Kudos to Starry Skies Sanctuary and O.A.T.S. Mgr., Scott! Patience, Kindness, Selflessness: Grace's Champions, our Heroes. All the while, teaching the global community how best to heal that which ails us. Blessings, always.
Something Bout these horse stories just makes my heart so happy. I love the fact that you take abused and broken horses and pair them with children that need that unconditional love.
God bless all of you for saving her. God bless the poor baby and hope she’s will be alright.🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐐🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎
All WE animals are equals! What do you think about animal rights? I thinks that any species have to be recognize as our equals
@@biokosmos Yes, equals as in the basis of respect for life and humane treatment. I call our pets my 'kids' because to me they are people.🥰

@@Brucev7 Sorry to be so blunt, but religions are all man made and are antiquated ways of thinking.
With all the good things that these rescue places do, it still breaks my heart when they get a scared, unhappy, malnourished animal all comfortable and blending in, then adopts them out or moves them and it seems that the animal feel abandoned all over again.
Oh she liked scott! immediately!
Ningún animal debería sufrir nunca

I keep coming back to this story for some reason. Sweet Grace. So glad she met such a gentle and kind individual to help further build her progress.
She’s doing great at OATS. She’s a gentle giant.
@@drewblue1164 Thank you for the update! That's great to hear
Who can not be touched by what you see here? That's Grace for you.
What a beautiful story! I've rescued several horses myself and nothing can match the feeling of watching one that has shut down blossom back into a happy, healthy horse!
Equine rehabilitators, those who do this for horses like Grace, are the finest people in the world. Thank you for this channel. I am overwhelmed.
My niece had to have therapy with horses. Juvenile Arthritis. It worked wonders. I hope Grace has a great life helping kids. Grace is so beautiful and seems very gentle.♥️👍
Thank you to all who had a part in taking care of Grace, She is beautiful.
God every time I see a horse video I have to steel myself for the horrible before to get to the happy after. Every time. I don’t know what happened to Grace before but I’m so glad she’s happy where she is. She deserves a little bit of heaven
Looks like she lost a friend at the beginning, felt really sorry for her. May she find a new purpose in her forever home ❤️
Seemed not used to being around other Horses. Horses are Communal.
You can tell the quality of a person by the way they treat animals.
These are quality people ❤
I'm so glad for the wonderful volunteers who rescued Grace and well took care of her. She became accustomed to the kind caretakers that she was able to be adopted out to a new home. It seemed she was happy with her new home and family of horses. It's a feel good story.
Wow...I have been blessed to be owned by horses for over 20 years. I have NEVER seen a horse so traumatized that they won't eat. Not even grain or a carrot. Poor girl. I am so glad she is better now.
Beautiful story horses and dogs are a gift of company to man.
Big truck beautifully said!
Do you know what Breed she is?
And to think that some people think Animals have no soul or feelings.
And cats.
@@gardy4390 they're idiots.
Grace looks like her new home is exactly where she needs to be. God bless her and all who helped her.🐎❤️🇦🇺
Beautiful horses and beautiful people caring for them!
I don't care what anyone else thinks or says, horses are empathic!! They can read us humans like a book. They know when we're happy, sad, anxious but most importantly, when we have been abused or broken! Working with them will heal you in a way another human can't. There should be more of these centers as mental health issues are on the rise to the point of it's time governments stepped in to see the numbers and get more of horse healing sites set up so everyone needing them can use them without worry about cost.
I hope she has a great life. She really likes that man a lot. She trusts he’s a good person.
I’m glad she found her happy place 🥰😭
Poor sweet girl…so depressed. How difficult it must be to figure out what’s wrong…what they need. Trying so hard not to do the wrong thing or make the wrong move. Everyone is so incredibly patient, caring and concerned with all these beautiful horses. God Bless you all for your dedication and commitment. ✨💖✨
I hope everything is good with Grace. So many people were supporting her. I bet she is giving back as a therapy horse.
God bless you.
THANK U KIND LADY for RESCUING her
Many times "therapy" is a two way street. Believing it is important, but I learned that in my heart when I gave my rescue dog a forever home.
She's a beauty, and he seems like a good man. In my experience, there are few judges of character better than a horse.
Gracie would be perfect for therapeutic riding. It is life-changing, at least it is for me.
Horses and dogs never cease to amaze me with their unending wells of compassion and empathy.🌼
They're so much more than most people give them credit for.🐕🐴
Why ? When she seems more comfortable with her peers than with the human in the sanctuary ?
I’m balling 😭in happiness 😇that she got a second chance to just be safe, free, and loved.
WOW ... What a Beautiful Girl!!! You can tell she must have been traumatized in the past....but so glad she's doing well!!! Cheers to Everyone who was involved with Gracie!!!😁😁🤯🤯🤠🤠💖💖💖💖👍👍👍👍
I grew up with a horse, and anyone who completely understands them has my awe. I still can't read them like some people can. Beautiful creatures.
The way she is walking in the beggining, made me think that was looking for her foal, especially when she refused to eat.
I think when people are reading a horse/animal the right way that it's part experience, part developed skill (from spending many hours around animals) trying to understand the animals personality or character (how each animal acts and responds or reacts to different things) and part instinct. They still get it wrong but not as often as others.
I've watched many people and the ones who take the time to understand an animal rather than aggressively dominate that animal do so much better in the long term. It's easy to break the trust of an animal and then you (or someone else who rescues it) have to work twice as hard to build that trust back up. It's hard to build trust if you aren't willing to spend time on building a relationship with them and trust is the foundation of any relationship.
I'm so glad Grace was able to trust again and that the man in this video took the time to start building up her trust in him. Blessings, Dot
It tares my heart to see a hurt fur baby but to see them heal makes up for everything 💯💞❤️🤗🥰💕💞❤️💐🙏
I love humans that are still human. Loving, helping, kind, like a human should be.
Animals who have been abused, don't forget. Thank you for helping Grace to move forward with kindness & ❤.
After a lifetime of being terribly afraid of horses, I made an unexpected connection with a rescue horse my wife bought last September. I love that big fella with all my heart. Because of him I’ve decided helping horses like him and like Grace is what I want to do with the rest of my life. Just not sure how I’m going to go about it. For now, I’m just going care for our horse and see where it goes from there. I had no idea how deeply the connection with a horse was.
She's so beautiful
Shirl, You may be right. Her new owner being a horse Wispers. Happy for Grace.😍🙏🇩🇰🇺🇸

Poor gal, she’s been through a lot, but finally comfortable in her space. Don’t know her history, but it wasn’t pretty if she had to be rescued. Wonderful place for her to finally get settled. Live happy, Grace. Know you are loved.
Who wants to lay on a hard floor, especially with steel shoes on. Very, very beautiful of you guys caring about these innocent animals.
Of course! Animals sense things in people that we don't. Personally, I recommend telling your animals "I love you". There is something magical about those words.
Sometimes all a lady needs is some time and a safe place to decompress! Thank you for giving her that!
Many thanks to all you awesome people who care enough to show all those horses 🐎 love. Kindness and patience with the understanding that it pays off was wonderful to see. I have so happy Grace found such a wonderful fur-ever home 🏡. You are heroes in my heart. ❤🐎🐴
Now, If I were her who fostered Grace, I would check up on the horse later down the road. Kinda show up unexpected to make sure Grace is being cared for properly.
I also don't trust my own kind that easy when it comes to animals.
That kind qualm gentle & voiced man she felt he was home to her. Shows the very kindness of this man, his love, & his love for the horses and for the program he runs. To bring the benefits of both together for the good of the peoples & the horses. What a caring wise man.🥰👍🙂💜💐
I bet Grace is perfect with people who have suffered, much as she has too. She looks happy with that nice man Scott. Xxx
It is so wonderful to hear that she feels comfortable immediately! It's her forever home with other horses!
I LOVE horses and it breaks my heart how badly they are abused and neglected. Thank you for giving her a real home filled with love and trust.
She noble will feel safer among the herd thank you for saving her
Tuesday 17th October 2023 You have done a amazing job in recruiting a horse and how she has gained your trust and she is happy to be with people 😊
thank you, all rescuers and thanks geico for sponsoring adoptions.
I had to check her out on OATES page . They renamed her Liberty as they had a Grace join them just before . She’s doing well. Well done to all ❤
Horses are a big part of our history Keep them safe
What a perfect fit. Good souls helping good souls. Truly, If Gracie hadn’t have been rescued and helped both physically and emotionally, she wouldn’t have found her forever home with her Dad, where she wouldn’t be helping those with special needs. This is a perfect example of paying it forward. I’m so happy this gentle soul will be helping those in need, with the help of her new Dad. Thank you to such an amazing rescue for not giving up on Gracie. Horses are SO MUCH abuse, it can take a lot of time for them to decompress. It takes love, patience, and compassion to give that. You healed her, and are truly a blessing for animals 🥰
She seems to really like Scott and trust him! When she went in the trailer and he walked back out she kind of seemed like "wait where are you going? I wanna go with you" then her cute walk after getting off.. she just seemed way happy :)
Bless you all for sticking with her!
Thank you all of Grace's handlers great job and thanks for the video you guys are the best.......
The bond with him was instant, its intangible, and sooooo deep, you can't
manufacture that kind of depth and love.
Beautiful!
She is so sweet and adorable. It’s great she is making huge strides and learning to trust again A big thank you to all that helped her bless you all 🙏🙏
Thank you, Kind Humans. Grace had to learn to trust humans again. Beautiful job in making that happen for her. ❤❤❤
Horses are one of the most majestic animals that are. They are such wonderful things.
Horses are sensitive, intelligent animals. This is sweet.
She ate as her new family of horses in a group watched. Grace is indeed gentle, but she's also highly intelligent,,and figured out where she was going and what she'd be doing by ways us humans can't fathom. She also appears to be a leader.
I shouldn’t be watching these on my period, it’s sad tears then happy tears the whole time
God bless and keep the wonderful people who rescued this sweet soul
Horses read intention. Probably suspected she was going home forever. Thank you to all at the rescue and to Scott for making a commitment to Grace and her future.
Horses are magnificent animals. Cannot bare to think of them being hurt. Thank goodness there are caring people who know a horses value - physically and emotionally. Blessings.

I'm an animal lover & it hurts me to the bottom of my soul to see ANY animal that has been abused or mistreated. God only knows what Grace had gone thru before she got to this 1st rescue center. I just hope that these folks are able to get all the "kinks" ironed out. Horses are usually such gentle creatures. Sad to think that this one had been abused. God bless the folks who are working with her now.
what a beautiful Lady you are Grace, such a perfect name for such a perfect Lady too!!! xxx
I was a little worried about Grace in the beginning even though her foster mom and her coworkers did everything they could to make her feel better. It was Grace not eating much that worried me but I am so glad this story had a very happy ending with her forever home.
Wow Grace just fell in love with her new Dad. That's all it took. She wanted to go with him. So sweet🙏❤️

Grace is so well built. So beautiful and strong. Great story.
i often wonder what goes through animal’s mind. when Grace was scared and nervous, did she see pictures in her mind, was it only somatic, or both. that they have an emotional soul is obvious :) that guy is amazing - so calm, so gentle, so connected to beautiful Grace.
thank you so much to everyone who took care of her and all the lonesome spirits in this world. 🐴🐎🌷🌿🌼🌱🌷
She is a big beautiful girl, and glad she is in a good environment now.
She'll probably be wonderful at therapy. Since she has gone through so much herself, it will giver her a connection point with OATS clients.
Doing equestrian therapy was one of the best decisions I've ever made. 🐎 I highly recommend it.
That's nice
How are you doing today
Having worked with horses years ago I know that (same for a lot of animals) it's hard when their world is altered with new surroundings. I'm happy her transition went so well.
