When I was a student at Bama nearly a quarter century ago, we would hold out hand up with four fingers extended since this was played between the end of the third quarter and the start of the fourth quarter.
I'm sixty one years old and I get excited when they play this. Maybe it's just not to your taste because you're out of the generation that can appreciate it... But they do it very well and the crowd absolutely loves it. I've seen it in person in bryant denny stadium many times.
