Yet another reason why I'm proud to be Finnish. Greetings from Finland.
@@harrycline985 Stop. That aint right.

Greeting back from the same country IM Finnish too very proud of Finlands sniper
This guy needs more recognition!!? There should be a movie made about this guy!!?? Dude sniped over 500 soldiers!!!?? No other sniper probably even cones close to his #!!?? How is it snipers like Carlos Hathcock, and chris kyle r well known but this guy isnt!!?? And this dude did it with an old mosin nagant M28/30 without a scope and could pop off 16 shots accurately in 1 min....at a target 500 feet away...while having to reload his gun 4 times in process!!?? And he still managed to be insanely accurate!!?? And with a nickname like "the white death" this dude should be more well known and there needs to be a movie made about his life!!?? His story is Crazy & he deserves to be more well known for what he did!!??
Simo the one person they had to call a artillery strike to kill him and it didn’t even work what a legend
The goat 🐐🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Not an air strike it’s artillery not a airstrike
I mean surviving a air strike is a whole other level
Currently reading his book.
Artillery not air strike
The trees speak Vietnamese

True
Nice one bro!😅👏👍
Why does it go kinda crazy
Dude TRUE-
The irony of Russia attacking in the winter just shows how stupid Stalin was. Winter is how Russia has always defended against foreign invaders.
you know you're a true warrior when people are still talking about your accolades in the battlefield 70 years later
Yeah but it's because Talvisota, Simo Häyhä and this day situation with border with russia and Ukrain war. We finns don't talk about it much. But we are f*ing proud what our grandparets did🙂
Thanks for support and if ever you need to be safe, wellcome to finland!
Thank you for going more in depth about The White Death. Seriously, this guy is a legend for SEVERAL reasons!
FR He's a LegeND B̊Ro
Absolutely carrying his army in a war? Check. Being absurdly cunning and accurate? Check. Avoiding all-out artillery specifically targeted to end him (and having the skill to deserve the attention)? Check. Cheating death after being shot in the face? Check! Even refusing to die until the Soviet Union collapsed? You'll never guess... check.
Its crazy how much he did, what he went through and never died. From eating just bread and sugar, eating snow. Burying himself in snow. Not using a scope. Getting shot in the face, And still after that, got death threats from the people he saved. True warrior, and hero. RIP, Simo, rest in peace, and history.
Commy pigs threatened him
To be fear.. snow is isolating. So he would have been more cold if he didn't Bury himself in snow..
But the eating snow. I can't get how he didn't freeze to death..
I can barely eat ice cream without being cold to the point I shiver 😂
@@mikefoehr235To think Twitter users exist back then...
I agree, but that was the biggest spoiler in my life, like why do you have to do me like that man?😒
my fault D;
@@MileyIsBored
500+ confirmed sniper kills, unknown amount of smg kills(estimated 200+). Dude wasn't messing around.
And they didn't have scopes back then I don't think pure skill
@@mikeybrazy115 They did, he didnt use them because you gotta lift your head up a bit more to use a scope and the scope could've reflected light.
@@MisterBlaargh Thank you I was going to say the same thing. Scopes back then weren't that powerful but did work very good and did help a skilled sniper shoot farther. The average scope back then only has 2x magnification and a bolt action rifle. Regardless tho whether he used a scope or not the amount of kills he got will probably never be broken ever again. In total ppl estimated between all the guns he used he had around 800 to 1000 kills.
@@MisterBlaargh He did not use a score because he was using his own personal hunting rifle and there just was no need to a scope. He mastered his own rifle so well, knew the distances accurately and was able to aim correctly.
Also, when using a scope you lose most action outside the scope, but with iron sights you still have a great 180 degree vision and you don't lose focus and don't have to move to scout the battlefield in front of you.
@@mikeybrazy115 Incorrect. They did have sopes even back then, but Simo never used one.
A) It got foggy. B) It clinted on direct sunlight. And C) It would have made the target [himself] slightly bigger, allowing to be spotted too easily by the enemy.
Can we please have a movie about this man's amazing life story. 🙏
Let's make it, we will make billions, and I will use that money to bless people 🎉
Not with the insane stuff what is going on in Hollywood at the moment. the story will be just twisted and turned to suit political correctness. Probably turning Simo into a black lesbian or so.
There apparently is, called "The White Death"
@@harrycline985😅 Funny to see your comment, because last couple months I have been try to think that what it would take, like I have think that what are the 'at least' needed things and stuff to be done and conduct, and with who etc to make a movie about Simo. Starting point is difficult because I am not anykind expert or professional, what it comes to movie production. Same time I also believe that this time in history, is maybe the best, or most likely to get like mediocore success with movie project like this. There are kickstarters and internet as an whole, to exploit for the movie's cause...I started to think it after I see finnish movie Sisu(2022). After I see sisu, and its relative success, I believe that so many things is possible nowadays, if u just are up on the task...
@@harrycline985 So what we need, to be starter seed of the project. Well, its kinda clear that u have to hire director, cameramen and whole crew. That made me think a necessity of kickstarter kind of monetize system, but its not the one and only right way.
Anyway, we need vision. We need a concept idea of what kind of movie it going to be. I mention Sisu-movie again because that shallow drama and characters persona etc, was genuinely skipped, and all glory and artistic visions was handed to that splatter/pulp violence, but they nail it. That style would been perfect match with white death movie. Actually director of Sisu named two main inspiration to his movie was Rambo first blood and story of Simo "white death" Häyhä...
Hmm..interesting
Wow he really was finnishing people

Love Finland from USA 🇺🇸❤️🇫🇮
Truly a Legend.
I have heard about him and also read, this guy was insanely amazing
I have too
he definitely😊 was an impressive man, that’s certain.
”One of our many soldiers” as he would and did say. To me most unbeliviable thing was that he did this all with plain iron sight.
@@SirWalrus80that’s what years of experience takes you in which no modern theory and study could takeover. I once went on to a shooting drill with M4’s, AK’s and Barrett M82. Old dude with M1 Garand walked in and made 3 practice shots with the Barrett before signing up in the competition. He said he needed that because it was his first time seeing that rifle and he hasn’t fired anything aside from his Garand since 1990. He stormed through the sniping competition with ease never missing the bullseye against modern men who use modern scopes and gears. Plain old farm clothes and leather gloves taking that gold medal and prize money then walked away.
"Our foe so vast, Our land so small, where will we find room to bury them all"
I've known about Simo for most of my life (I'm 55). Growing up in a military family in the US, famous soldiers such as Simo, Audie Murphy, and so many others, were history lessons my dad would teach his boys... and if I had sisters, they would have learned about them, too.
As someone who has studied Simo, I greatly appreciate this video as an honorable, respectful commentary about this little farm boy who was dedicated to doing all he could to save his country from occupation - no matter the odds.
Thank you.
I live in Finland and it's cool that people talk about someone cool character from my country. Häyhä also never 100% surely confirmed his kill count but easily over 500 kills he got
simo häyhä didnt reelly care abt how much kills
Almost night, a crimson horizon painting thousand lakes red
As your army approach from the east, a hunter is switching his prey
All alone, a man with his gun wanders into the wild
Tracks you down, you cannot hide once he is on to your trail
Enter the night, a flash in the darkness, White Death is heading your way
The fear of his foes, a hero at home, hundreds will fall by his gun
You’re in the sniper’s sight, the first kill tonight, time to die
You’re in the bullet’s way, the White Death’s prey, say goodbye
After the dawn when morning has broken, snow once white turned to red
Blood red snow tells what happened last night, a tale of a sniper is born
Snow in mouth hiding his breath, he is steady at hand
Eye to eye, target in sight, the moment to fire has come
Hundreds of kills. a man and his rifle embody the sisu of Finns
Stay out of sight and cover your head, when he pulls the trigger you’re dead
You’re in the sniper’s sight
SNIPER’S SIGHT!
You’re his first kill tonight
FIRST KILL TONIGHT!
Say goodbye, say goodbye
SAY GOODBYE!
Hundreds will fall by his gun
You’re in the sniper’s sight
SNIPER’S SIGHT!
You’re his first kill tonight
FIRST KILL TONIGHT!
Say goodbye, say goodbye
SAY GOODBYE!
White death is coming for you
Finally a Sabaton comment
Dang, I gotta ask this dude to play splatoon with me, he’d be cracked at the H-3 Splatterscope
wow man i d'ont think there will be a sniper like this anymore
Finally! First video to talk about the amount of daylight or lack of it. That makes Simo so unbelievable.
I can't believe he still got death threats. RIP Simo.😔
After watching this, i no longer hate my small height (173cm or 5 '8), greetings from finland and honor to our legend "the white death"
5' 8" , isn't small , I'm not much taller , yet some family , could pass under my outstretched arm , when I was 10 & the relative , in shoes , me - flip-flops . Now that relative was short , at about 5' 0" , & if that's still not enough , i've a 4' 8" neighbour , who's quite young , and a 104 year young one , who is about 5'6" , which for her age is pretty good .
@@davidarundel6187 well here in finland it is small these days, those who are like age 13-16 are often head size more bigger than me
Small? Try 5´1 (1.56m) instead like me. Let's just say you have the height i always wished i had.
I’m 1.60m ☠️
@@Owl_idiot Still taller then i am xD I really hate being so damn short...
In Gundam 0079, Amuro Ray's RX-78-2 Gundam was nicknamed "The White Devil" by Zeon forces. After seeing that anime many years ago, I researched the name and eventually learned about the GOAT sniper himself.
A legend who returned to peaceful, quiet life after the war: Like a true finn he didn't brag about his achievements but did his job the best he could. Counter snpers, artillery trikes, nothing helped the enemy until a single lucky shot. And even that didn't stop him permanently.
I'm so happy to be Finnish! Sending greetings from Finland!
This guy is the 100th CZcamsr I subbed to
19:55 It wasn't Finnish newspaper that gave him the nickname "White Death". It was russians calling him "Belaya Smert" AKA you know...
It's always interesting to learn about history. And it't great that this channel has really versatile content. Good work
This guy was so good, he got a full episode to himself.
not only alot of peple has done films abt him
I can fire, reload fire every 3 - 4 seconds keeping a 2 in group at 200 yards with a Remington 1903A3 , a comparable rifle. Something to add, Simo rapidly acquired individual multiple target without detection, although his scars show he was tagged at least once. My hat off to Simo,,,Semper Fi mac
He was wounded during finns counterattack, afterall he wasnt "sniper" but riflerman.
Wow what an amazing story of Simo’s life! The first I’ve heard of him and you told his story brilliantly! To use so little and help his country 👏. Ofc it’s horrific that he had to live his later years with death threats from the people he helped to continue their way of life is just disgusting
Thank`s again, for a good video.
Some things to get "right" though:
The map of Finland lacks, Karelian isthmus, parts of northeastern Karelia and the "right arm of the Finnish Maiden"= up towards Murmansk/Petsamo.
And, not to forget, Simo Häyhä, used his "Brush", a.k.a:Suomi machine pistol, for "cleaning up" in russian trenches. These numbers are not included in those 500+, confirmed kills.
And, finally, he was shot with a exploding ammunition, forbidden in Geneva Convention, which russians didn`t care much about, as always. Take a closer look at Ukraine today.
from a Finn in Diaspora (My grandparents, lost family farm back then.)
my moms dads dad fought in the war and my granddad fled from finland to sweden in the war now i live in sweden but im finnish
Be Amazed should tell more stories, they're great to listen to after a long day of work and school
Amen
Your videos timing is always impeccable for a nice educative bed time story.
That sorta true 😅😅😅
Your video editing skills are top-notch, it enhances your content greatly.
I remember the white death he was in "The greatest warriors of all time" video I love that video
That's my favorite one too. I prefer Chandragupta due to national bias though.
Yea, I loved that video too! I’ve watched it at least 8 times!
I never even imagined you would make this video!
finally a video about Simo Häyhä! must be a great video!
Well there is a surprising hero that somehow fell through the cracks of History. Another interesting character that surprisingly nobody made film about.🤔 Now that's a true Winter Soldier.👌
Small correction to 10:40. Mostly only white covers were given to the soldiers. People generally had their own winter clothing with them and due lack of resources, they were even advised to take own clothing with them. After all, everyone naturally had sufficient clothing at home.
The birth of the carrot theory. When it was actually night vision
From now on I am going to call him the sniper that went to God level
YEP
How there is not a movie about him is frickin' blasphemy!
The greatest sniper.
This is by far at 100% my favorite video! Probably I’m a little partial since I am Finnish, but this was an incredible episode!!!
I enjoy all your uploads but this one was one of the best! It was so interesting! And woah what a guy😮 imagine him training 20 men to be at his level 😮
Amazing man.
Slick vid.
Nicely done.
Thanks!
Love your video Be Amazed and keep up the great work
Yes! Another story, i hope you make more stories about WW2
This was the best video I've seen you produce. Im from sweden, and i will most definitely go to the Museum of the Finish hero.
In addition to his impressive sniping tally, I heard the WHITE DEATH racked up and extra 200 plus, submachine gun kills.
Not a topic that would normally appeal to me but given this channels great skills, I thought I would give it a watch. Respectfully told and perfectly narrated. Excellent Be Amazed 😊
holy shit, that is so insane
one farmboy who was just such an expert marksman he single-handedly racked more than 500 kills in 3 months
I doubt I could get even a fraction of that, even if I had years of training, though I would probably deal well with the cold and iron sights aiming better than most people
Cap
you should do these other great hero's . below.
korean: yi sun sin : won 23 naval battles against the japanese without losing a single ship.
japanese: kusunoki masashige : considered the most loyal samurai even sacrificing his own life for the emperor.
japanese: miyamoto musashige : considered one of the greatest swordsman in the world.
Me struggling to reload a nerf💀

Respect for Simo Häyhä from protecting Finland so well. Cause I live in Finland. I find it really funny too how you say his name.
As long as you have decent vision and are familiar with your gun you don't need a scope until you are trying to see something your eyes can't actually see, in this situation it was very smart for him to not use a scope.
Granted his targets were basically feed to him like an expert carnival shooting gallery, what this guy was able to achieve for his country is very impressive indeed.
😄👍
Correct. He used his own rifle he had used for 20+ years. He was a master using it.
I'm shocked that you didn't make a pun about his name.
He didn't need a scope, he could just Simo
😂
Born and raised in Finland myself. I actually remember reading about Simo in history class in high school. They should definitely make a movie about him!
I ahve alot of respect for this man
I actually heard about this man from The Infographics Show and Thoughty2. As soon as I saw "Greatest Sniper to Ever Live" I was like, "Oh, this must be about Simo Hayha." xD
Almost perfect timing as today is 🇫🇮 106th Indepence Day! Thank you
Well i’m 16 years old Finnish boy and i still can’t get over what kind of death Simo häyhä was back in the days even so much that when i’m gonna create my own game i will add him there some way just to Respect our cold ice patient war hero (and one of the few reasons why i like winter (another reason is i was born in 19 february) winter just is just something that some people just refuse to Respect but i’m not those few (and i’m only one in my family born in winter time) isn’t winter just amazing)
What a huge legacy just because he loves to do in his life.
It breaks my heart how everyone butchers his name😂but amazing video as always
Big respect to the sisters and brothers from Finland. You were able to defend independence in a difficult war with Russia
🇺🇦🇫🇮
Communism is pure evil 😈
Well like I say you can't spell Russia without an A S S.
RESPECT
That is amazing...i thought the russian sniper that is depicted in enemy at the gate was cool...this man has my respect and admiration!
I love SIMO! An argument could be also made for others, such as Carlos Hathcock. I even named my SAKO Finnish Mosin Simo.
YAY lets go another vidio
It's like he's preparing himself just for that war for his entire life.
Yeah yeah it's pretty cool😅🎉🎉
Another cool and interesting video 👍
Impressive sniping! :)
This guy was amazing!!😮
I play 4 hours of PUBGM everyday and hasn’t even touched 300 mark since last December on sniper kills. This dude is a legend
As a Finn I have to say that those winter temps were just crazy.
He forgot to mention that Nagant M/28-30 is also a bolt action rifle, the animation suggest Häyhä was using a semi automatic rifle, so this gives an innaccurate picture of his shooting abilities.
A bolt action rifle requires you to basically reset aiming between EVERY shot.
You still have to reset your aiming after every shot in an automatic rifle as well due to the recoil.
@@vitzveer Lets not pretend that shooting fast with a semiautomatic and a bolt-action is the same thing.
@@sugibudder yeah, it's not the same, but he didn't need to shoot fast. He needed accuracy and the bolt rifle is much more accurate than the automatic one.
@@vitzveer To get 16 hits in a minute you do need to shoot fast, you dont meet many people today that can do the same with a bolt-action rifle, just search the internet for other people attempting it.
Also he did need to shoot fast sometimes, after the first shit the enemies would quickly scatter or start to run away, meaning he had a limited time window to kill them or they would get an opporturnity to call for back up which might include artillery or armored vehicles which Simo was defensless against.
@@sugibudder 16 hits in a minute can be done by the expert like him with a bolt rifle.
Just to be clear, I agreed with what you said that they inaccurately made it look like he used a semi-automatic rifle,. I just pointed out that you would have to re aim the semi automatic rifle every time as well, that's all.
love ur vids
Fascinating

Finally a video about the white death
what a guy
I guess I was pretty good when I was in boot camp. I was two points away from the lowest marksmanship medal and I had one more left when the whistle blew. For my first time, I'd say that's pretty good
😅🎉❤
Legend. Epic Legend.
I love the ring of his nickname..The White Death. Sounds awesome.
I love this story ngl
Keep going
Hello BeAmazed loved the video, can you please make another video about "The attack of the dead men"?
In Finland it's mandatory to serve in the army
Now this man will face off against a God in ragnarok.
Pegahmagabow may not have Simo's impressive kill count, but the man was the original troll of the trenches during WWI.
Sneaking into enemy trenches, stealing their medals, cutting pieces of their clothing while they slept, and according to some (though not confirmed to my knowledge), even standing behind sentries on watch.
I was watching this whilst getting one of my many tattoos so is it possible you could do a video on the best tattoos please.
Archievement unlocked The Invisible SNIPER
While the header pic for the video looks bad to the bone the legend himself used no scope 😂. Great video and awesome story. Click bait picture wasn't necessary
